Just down the road from the office, Fisher House is my local Thirsty Thursday haven at 5 o'clock. And on Monday and on Tuesday.... It is a beautiful setting, an old homested built by Sir Woolf Fisher, while it has been renovated, the owners have kept the homestead feel and it is beautiful to look at from the otuside lawn. Yummy bar snacks include the chicken liver parfait- I am now unable to go to fisher hosue without ordering this delight. Also the good old fries option is a winner there if you like them skinny! The wine list is great with delicious wines stickign to an affordable price, which is a win in my books. Cool setting, cool menu, cool drinks, and if you keep an eye out on grabone, they offer pop deals up on there. Had a high tea here with a close friend, and I absolutely love the ambience. It's very quaint, like you're stepping into the drawing room of a regal era house. The high tea was delicious and they have some interesting tea fusions or an espresso coffee if you prefer. Definitely dress up, as it's a place you don't want to be caught in wearing track pants! The service was a bit erratic and disorganized, considering you have to book in advance for high tea. However, the waiter was incredibly apologetic and did his best with what seemed like a problem of being understaffed. Would still come again. :) read more
