At 73 years old it is important to find the best. Everytime I visit them at his Keller office, his staff are extremely friendly. Yolanda and M'Keisha at the front desk start your visit on positive beginning. They both are so friendly and will go out of their way to help with your paper work and get you all checked in. If I'm a good boy during the visit, they let me have a piece of candy. They also remind me to make sure I get my coffee after my visit. You don't want to be caffeine up when you are seeing a Cardiologist. For any Doctor, you have to make sure you hire great Nurse Practitioners to fill in when he is not available. Well, I can tell you Dr. Badhey has two that are fantastic. I feel very comfortable with their diagnosis. Buffy and Stella are his Nurse Practitioners. They review your health chart before they even see you. If there are any adjustments to be made in medication, they do not hesitate to put you on something that could help with something they see in my bloodwork that may need a boost. Alicia and Jenni are the nurses. They are fantastic in going over your records, or better described as a triage. They confirm any and all changes in my records since last visit. First, I was told I'm not a patient. After spelling my name three more times, my record was found. I gave the names of the drugs and the dosage, but apparently, they weren't in the computer, either. I repeated the drugs and dosage, and was told that the doctor's nurse would get back to me. Two hours later, someone from the office called, didn't identify herself, and asked me again what I wanted. I explained again, and was told my records weren't there, and that someone would call me back. This evening, I got two emails from my pharmacy, telling me my refills are ready. One month refills instead of six. And one of the drugs is the wrong dosage. If I didn't have high blood pressure before I dealt with these people, I'd have it now...

Kaner had miscoded the reason for the blood work. This requires time for me to correct their error. Call to the insurance company to verify the charge and reason for non-payment, then a call to Kaner, then wait for the issue to be resolved. I'm currently on hold, waiting to confirm an appointment. I got a voicemail from Kaner saying my appointment was scheduled with another doctor. WTF. How did this happen? This is my second call to confirm the appt. The first call, I was on hold for 5+ minutes, the phone was answered then hung up immediately. So now I'mm into another 8+ minutes of holding. The "on-hold music" sounds like a carnival ride... which should not surprise me as the office staff are basically clowns.

One time I forgot to bring my medications. An unusual frown passed over his face but he took the time to explain to me why it was important for me to bring my meds to be checked; more important than just bringing a list He always explains the instructions he gives me and why he wants me to follow them. He has visited me every day during hospital stays when my heart rate and blood pressure were acting up even though I was there for a different problem. Dr. Brijesh Patel seems to be the best example of a skilled, caring, knowledgeable, doctor; one who puts me at ease and takes good care of me. I voted five gold stars for my review. There are so many comments in the physician reviews discussing the office staff. For three years I worked forty plus hours every week in admitting at St. Anthony Hospital in OKC, OK. Generally, people were nervous, anxious, and easily upset when they were in the position of undergoing new treatments, facing a large expense, facing an unknown outcome to a problem, or just being in a place with which they are unfamiliar. Sometimes, a smile would set someone off because they felt the smile was frivolous. When working in the real world with every type of person imaginable, one should be ready to undergo many types of reactions from many different people. I feel that working with physicians and people who have medical problems takes an understanding, empathetic, and very stable person who does not allow other people into their "Work Mode." That means they can listen, try to explain, try to understand why the other person is upset, try to find someone who can help, but does not have to let the other person's problems become theirs (no matter how hard they try.)

Thats about where the positive experience ends. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. On my first appointment I provided them with a copy of my insurance card and my medicare card. I explained that my Aetna Insurance would be primary and Medicare would need to be filed as secondary. The receptionist asked me for my copay of $20. I explained to her that I had met my deductibles and Medicare would pick up my copay along with any balance due after the Aetna payment. I was told that I would be required to pay the copay and would be issued a refund if my secondary paid it. Let me just say that it took multiple phone calls and a complaint to both Aetna and Medicare before I received my refund. Almost 6 months later. The next issue was with the tech/nurse arguing over my IV contrast allergy. I explained that I was allergic to all IV contrast which they didn't seem to understand. Finally I provided a copy of my medical records from the hospital before they admitted they were wrong. My next issue is similar to the review left by another Yelp member. I would have an appointment with the doctor and show up to be told that he was out of the office. No courtesy call or anything. I often would wait for an hour before being called back. Lastly, I stopped by to get a copy of my records to find out that he had filed for bankruptcy. Office locked. I have made multiple attempts and still can't get my records.
