He never finished the job; Not even half of it. Secondly, when he gave us the quote for the job, he said he would gladly take a personal check upon completion of job. On the day he was to start he said he could not take a check. After some haggling, he agreed to accept a personal check. Thirdly, when he gave us the quote for the job, he said he would accept full payment upon completion of the job. Then, on the first day of actual work, he wanted half upfront. Fourthly, he promised to be at our house on a certain day, at a certain time, to commence work. He never showed up, and he never called to advise he had problems. I called him that afternoon and got ahold of him. He said he had truck problems and couldn't make it. He said he was too busy trying to take care of his truck to let me know he wasn't going to live up to his agreement with me. Fifthly, he initially promised to have the job done in one day. After two days, the job was less than half done and he wanted to back out of the job completely. After his poor performance, I gladly agreed. Sixthly, when we terminated the verbal contract, he had finished less than half the job but received half the payment. We negotiated an equitable payment for what work he did complete and he was to refund me some of the money I had paid him on day one. He has not given me that refund and now he won't return my calls.
