I cannot say enough nice things about Lisle. He is personable, professional and extremely…read moreknowledgeable in his craft. His gym is beautiful and clean and I love that the training is 1x1 in a private environment. I have already learned so much about my body and have completed workouts I never thought I could do before over the time spent with Lisle as my trainer. He challenges you but makes it fun and switches it up every session. After having a baby, I needed to get my core stronger and my stamina and energy back. He is so knowledgeable in anatomy and understood everything I could and couldn't do and what areas that needed to be stronger to help me. We can come a long way and I am now working on becoming a figure competitor with Lisle as my trainer. If you are considering personal training and prefer a private experience with a highly knowledgeable and "practice what you preach" person, Lisle is the trainer for you. He is warm, welcoming, funny, down to earth, motivating but knows how to bring the pain... but in a good way. He truly cares about his clients and is quick to respond.

A month ago a few of my gym friends decided to buy a yoga package at a studio in Markham. The lady…read morethere told us that Savvy from London would be teaching yoga there and we can get certified as teachers by the owner names Jitender Sahdev. The yoga classes in itself were decent but there was significant hurdles in getting certified and the overall experience was negative. Jitender would discipline me harshly and embarrass me in front of my colleagues which is not professional at all. He would ask me to stay back (usually alone) which I was not comfortable with but be warned me that if I didn't I would not get certified. I have no review about the studio space because he was renting the space in Markham from the lady who owns it (although he himself is from London, ON). He forced all the students leave positive reviews for his company while standing right there, which made it awkward for me as I did not want to leave him a fake positive review. He told me if I did not I would not get my certificate. I posted my review on Yelp earlier and flagged it and it was removed. If you see too many positive reviews for this company please exercise your caution and I really encourage you to google the owner before going. I would have avoided my experience if I had known before hand.

The class sizes are small and you get personalized tips from the instructor on how to improve your form and really get the most out of your practice. I always enjoy the time I spend here and I'm noticing improvements in my practice daily.

This is the best gym in town. Such an incredible community, amazing coaches, very high quality…read moreprogramming, and the members who stick around for a long time achieve amazing things! Not your average gym. 10/10 recommend if you want to break free of the big box gym rut!

I cheated on my gym a little. Forgive me. I was curious about the classes at Hybrid Fitness so I…read morefilled out the form on their website. I was emailed within a business day and I got more information on the classes and signed up for a Sweat and a Strength class. Their website is really easy to use in terms of finding out the schedule. I also found that in their portal area, you can even see the kind of things you will be doing in some workouts. This gym is pretty huge! There is an open reception area with a spot for people to stretch and roll out before and after classes. There is an open gym area where people can come in and work out on some of the machines and free weights. Keep in mind, this is not the type of gym where you run on a treadmill for 20 minutes. If you want to lift heavy objects and put them down, hang around on some bars, and swing on some rings, this is a good place to do it. The women's locker room was really big with multiple showers (including a handicap stall), lockers, and room to do makeup and hair. There's hair blowers, products, and straighteners available to use as well. For both classes I was in, it was around 20 people which is apparently uncommon. They had an influx of people from another gym come in so they were dealing with some additional bodies. Either way, the workout was adjusted to ensure we could all do it at the same time AND there were 2 trainers there to help out. The workouts are very crossfit-centric. Where I'm used to bootcamp with a timer, this is more "do ___ reps within this time" or "for ___ minutes do as many sets of ___ movement and ____ movement". This was new to me as I am used to doing however many reps I can get in before the buzzer goes. It was tough but it was doable. You can scale it back if you need to but they did ask for everyones reps at the end which may be a bit intimidating for newbies. I really really loved how the trainers were on top of helping your form or giving you props. I also loved how everyone high-fived each other after the workout. I'm very glad I took a chance and came out to Hybrid. Definitely take advantage of their 3-free classes. If you want a tough workout that builds muscle, but also conditions your body, the sweat and strength classes are great. They are easy going and casual. If you want some competitive action or big lifts, they also offer those types of classes as well. While I have no intention of leaving my current gym at the moment, I now know a very good spot I would flock if I do.
