Really great, really flexible. I was in town for a bachelorette weekend and we had some time to fill. Fitness With a Twist (FWAT) was super flexible, adding us in just a week before the event. Jasmine, our instructor, was very sweet and able to adjust the class to fit our skill level and time needs. Staff was approachable and seemed like regular people - perhaps an odd comment - but it felt like a safe environment, free of judgement. The building is situated in South Side and was truly the perfect location, easy to get to and the right size for our group. The workout was great, definitely some underutilized muscles! High hopes for this studio but compared to some of the pole classes in other cities which are very modern, clean and artsy feeling this studio is very old, grimy and dirty. The instructor is very rough. This is NOT one of the elegant, artsy pole dance studios you will find easily in other major cities. read more

Every class is a workout! As someone who didn't thrive in a traditional gym atmosphere, pole classes challenge literally every muscle and it was the activity I needed to get off the couch. I love taking classes here! The instructors are great, especially working with beginners. I completed their level 1 and level 2 series with Susie and she's one of my favorite instructors. The variety of classes is also great. A friend and I really enjoyed the Valentine's themed chair dance workshop they offered in February. I first took a class with some friends as something new and fun to try. One class and I was hooked! This is my third year taking classes and I have never been this confident or strong before. There is no other workout where you can have this much fun and get in touch with your sexy side! You begin to improve and gain strength without even realizing it because it's so enjoyable. I love seeing myself and others progress and do things I never thought I would be able to do. Anyone can learn no matter what their fitness background. I came here for a pole dancing class for a friends birthday last week. We had a blast. We were able to bring wine and snacks to get comfortable before starting the class. Our instructor, Ebony, was seriously amazing. She was not only a boss on the pole but she made everyone feel comfortable and worked with us on an individual basis during the class if someone needed extra direction. I went to the chair dance class twice while I was briefly in Pittsburgh. Probably one of my favorite parts of my trip, especially classes like this aren't offered in my home town. Decent workout and judgement-free. The instructors just want you to have a good time and get a little out of your comfort zone. I absolutely love FWAT. I have been taking classes from them for a while and my pole skills have improved immensely. It's not only a good workout, but also lots of fun being there. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable, patient, and willing to help you improve. I like Ebony's classes the best. When classes are full, instructors do a good job of working with students in groups, so everyone spends equal amount of time on the pole. It's also nice to have short breaks in between workouts because some of those classes can be very intense. I am really excited about the additional floors the studio has opened and the spinning poles! read more

I want to say we had an awesome time at FWAT! We planned a Mom's Afternoon out and it was one of the best experiences. We had a large group of girls for our private and yes the pools were limited. However, we rotated and took turns. Ebony was a great teacher and she felt more part of the group then a teacher! She wanted us to have fun and party while we learned. No Drill instructor as I read in other reviews. I actually loved it so much that I decided to join the beginners 6 week course. THIS is total different then a "party"( or probably even the drop in). YES it cost more but it definitely worth the money. It is more of a class and a work out. I am extremely happy and look forward to getting my Sexy Back!! read more

What a mess. I booked this for a bachelorette party. The bride and the bridal party all showed up on time. We couldn't get into the studio because our instructor wasn't there. We called Vanessa Russo many times and it went straight to voice mail. 15 minutes after our confirmed start time, she returned my call and stated the instructor though our class began 30 minutes later and she was at lunch closing out her tab. I suggested the situation be somehow rectified as I felt bad for our bride having to wait 30 minutes outside with all of our things. Vanessa responded rudely and asked what I wanted. It was very unprofessional and I expect more from the owner/manager of an establishment. Our instructor showed up and apologized. We were given one person's class for free. The class was fun until one of the poles came crashing down from the ceiling with one of us on it and almost hit another bridesmaid. The instructor stated she had not seen that in 10 years. No one was severely hurt, but outside of apologizing, nothing else was done. We all agreed everyone should have been free at that point. The instructor stated she trusted her husband more than the owner and asked her husband to come deal with the pole issue. It makes sense based on how rude Vanessa was on the phone to begin with. It was an okay time, but I absolutely would not recommend this place based on the late start time, the attitude from Vanessa, and the pole crashing down nearly injuring two people. Our instructor was fun, but that was it. read more
