I am a very regular gym user I go almost every day and this just isn't the sort of place you would want to spend much time . For one thing there are always obvious drunks hanging around outside and it never looks like it would take them long to start begging and pestering you . The club room is pricey as is the membership, but if you use the gym regularly it actually works out good value for money. The changing rooms are great with decent sized lockers. The gym here is brilliant. The staff are really motivating and friendly, and always on hand to give advice if you need it. They also make sure you don't feel intimidated by the body building types. There is loads of equipment and loads of running machines means I've never had to wait to use one yet. The brand new pool is lovely! Very clean and modern. If you're going to use the facilities here regularly I'd recommend becoming a member. It's very good value for money, for about £30 monthly you get unlimited use of the facilities and classes on offer, and you can use your membership at the Ri0pley Center too!

The Hermitage leisure centre is the main public leisure centre in North West Leicestershire. There…read moreis also a similar sized leisure centre in Ashby-De-La-Zouch, but in my opinion the Hermitage offers a better experience than the Ashby alternative. The leisure centre offers all the usual services you woul expect to be offered; including an excellent indoor swimming pool. In addition, there is a large sports hall for indoor football, badminton and other regular activities such as Karate and table tennis. Upstairs is a modern 'techno gym' which has a good balance between cardio and weights. My personal favourite thing about the leisure centre is the squash courts. They are all enclosed, which means the ball can not go out of the court over the top of the glass; many other courts at leisure centres in the region have open designs, which is incredibly frustrating. The leisure centre also runs many programs whatever your need and age: from high intensity aerobic workouts, to tai- chi. The leisure centre also owns a large portion of land adjacent to it and has a number of open football pitches, an astroturf for football and hockey as well as a fairly large fishing lake. Finally, it operates a 9-hole golf course which is well maintaned and challenging! Price wise, as it is operated by the council, the prices are better or as good as you would find at a commercially run gym/fitness centre.

Oh, how am I kidding. I'm going to give it 5 stars anyway. Not *just* because of Carolyn. Okay, partly. Okay, mainly. My friend Derek lives in Mansfield, and while he's a Man City fan, he does respect this team and so should everyone. They've been built into a force in recent years and saved from the brink by a dedicated rich fan and his stunning glamour model wife. First-Hand Experience: I have been to their home stadium a few times but never saw a game yet - I will change that in 2016. I've seen Mansfield play away from home so to speak and loved them. Their supporters are great, owner and his girl are great, and just in general they're a feelgood story and a credit to the league. I haven't seen them play live in about 4 years so next year I hope to remedy that. They play at Field Mill, which can hold 15k when used as a music venue. They were formed in 1897, they are the stags and play in bright yellow, and their players relax at Center Parcs down the road, and go shooting arrows (so to speak) (hopefully not with Carolyn) in the Sherwood Forest for their down time. Ahem. Down being the operative word. They recently gave Luis Suarez and Liverpool a hard time while also losing to them in the FA Cup. Called Luis a cheat. Actually it was Carolyn who said it so it's okay. Carolyn Radford, you rock.
