LOL I just have to laugh. Really wtf is going on here? Dimly lit, drafty, stale smelling convenience store that sell food? My goodness the poor commuters that eat that food much boycott it because I've never actually seen anyone order food here. Just from the outdoors looks like an old barn where some creep abducts people and hdes them upstairs, what with the grimy, cloudy windows with junk stuffed up past the windowsills and all.. I'd probably want to send Ghost Hunters up there with their freaky equiment to capture the lost souls likely trapped up there! its so off putting even from the road as you drive by. The ownership seems paranoid everyone is stealing. If I must make my way inside here, I make sure to basically keep my hands out and away from my purse or pockets at all times, to avoid getting grilled by the counter staff. Like anyone with a sour attitude, I usually kill them with kindness. But I found that to be of no avail here. Even the cheeriest smile and voice will be met with Ben Stein mono-tone reciting what you owe. No thanks, Have a good day.. nope not even close. Stuff here is often out of date, so double check that fruit juice or box of cheez-its before you purchase, because you will not get a refund or exchange for it.. in fact it will be YOUR fault for purchasing something out of date in the first place.. or so I was informed. Its sad because they have such a monopoly being so close to the train station, people basically have to shop here and they must make a killing on lottery, beer and tobacco alone so they aren't going to change up management anytime soon I'm sure. Fitzgeralds has been in business in that location since the late 70's or early 80's. Ownership has changed hands with no updates to speak of. The location is better than ever with the train station there. Nice friendly clerks and its got an old general store feel to it. if you want chic and modern, go elsewhere. read more

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. The people that work there are incredibly kind and always remember me and my friend when I go in every day after my daily walk. My friend was sick one day so I ran here to grab her the soda she gets and the younger Indian gentleman at the register even reminded me which one she usually has! Very kind and personable. read more

Service is certainly friendly but unfortunately the people here are slso universally incompetent. I'm forced by proximity to drop in here frequently. For years I've pointed out problems which employees and ownership tell me will be addressed. They never ever are.... These people seem lazy, stupid snd/or blind because there is very little cost involved in addressing the simple problems they have. With present ownership it will remain a run down, dirty, Indian convenience, coffee-beer-wine 'sandwich' shop. This place could literally be super "convenient" for me with its location, but it is simply too repulsive. The fridges are not cold, the cleanliness of the place is abysmal, and I'm not in the mood to see the ownerships stockpile of smut magazines every time I want to grab a gatorade. God forbid an actual child ever wanders into this place and catches a glimpse, or worse, e-coli. I'm not one to chum it up with cashiers, but perhaps a split second of eye-contact is appropriate when a transaction is being made in your store? I can only assume the owners would prefer they were never bothered with pesky customers looking to, you know, BUY something. I drive past Fitzy's a few times a week knowing full well what I need is inside their doors. I go to Stony Brook or Sperry's instead. PS: Watch out for the massive pothole.
