I would have trouble deciding between the wonderful hotels we've stayed at in Ireland, but for my wife it would be no contest - her absolute favorite was here. You are in the middle of huge, open, green grassy areas, on a long street with other nice houses on large lots, and this hotel is so wonderfully surrounded by nature. On either side there are huge areas of grass, one side bordering the parking lot there is a large enclosure with dozens and dozens of birds including chickens, peacocks, turkeys, and a few rabbits to boot. Then on the other side of the hotel there was a huge area where sheep and a few donkeys and a horse were grazing endlessly. That was the view from our room and we visited them a few times during the stay. The hotel itself is really nice, the room is a bit old-school and clean and lovely, the staff was very helpful and friendly, the space to eat breakfast and dinner has a great decor of old bicycles dangling from the ceiling, an there is a wonderful atmosphere that honors the family that started and owns the place including a drink in the honor of the dearly departed patriarch. Wonderful place, and only 3 kilometers from the AMAZINGLY adorable heritage town of Adare. read more
