We've had multiple negative experiences with security, ranging from rude and aggressive behavior to outright verbal abuse. I've been called a "bitch" and a "ho" for simply trying to use the bathroom. My boyfriend and I were once chased down, screamed at, and kicked out without any explanation. The security staff seems to be on a constant power trip, which is a shame because the venue itself and the music are good. No night out is worth being treated with that level of disrespect. We'll be spending our money elsewhere. read more

Stopped in for the first time. Huge open bar and outside seating overlooking a pretty pond. They have two bars and a plethora of TVs. The remodel of this location is very nice and it has a fantastic sound system. The draft beers are reasonably priced and cold. I believe there is an all-day happy hour, too. Nicole, our bartender, is friendly and fun as well as professional. The food being delivered to customers looked phenomenal. Although we didn't eat on this visit, we will certainly give the food a try on our next visit. There is plenty of on-site free parking. The Seminole location is definitely a place to try. read more

We stopped at Five Bucks Drinkery for a drink and light appetizer early on a Saturday evening. The place was really hopping! We sipped our drinks at the bar while we engaged in conversation. My wife asked for the Slutty Peter while I resorted to my regular beer, Cigar City Jai-Alai. May I say my wife surely enjoyed her drink! We were having a great time and decided to order Bavarian Pretzel thinking it was the least filling choice from the menu. The size was tremendous! The team ordered water while reviewing the menu. We decided on some egg rolls, nacho supreme, and Bavarian pretzels. For drinks, I ordered Gin and Tonic while the crews ordered their cocktail of choice. Service is good, the barmaid was there right away with the drink and 10 minutes later the apps arrived. Five Bucks Drinkery is a staple to downtown Saint Pete! It's definitely one of my favorite places to go if you're looking for a great time out and or want to people watch on the strip. If you don't know anything about five bucks... It's all in the name. Everything on the drink menu is five bucks and below. They do have a food menu, and last night a couple of my buddies ordered some food, but I would definitely not go there for the food. We had the pleasure of having Katy take care of us last night, and she told us this was her second shift working there. She had an excellent attitude and a great personality. We all ordered $5 margaritas, beers, juice, sodas, and water. The margaritas are the bomb! The large margaritas are sooo good. The beers come in 32oz servings. Around the table food orders were, an amazing Taco Salad, burgers, Philly cheese steaks, kids meals with chicken and a few orders of the Buffalo Cauliflower. All the food and drinks were good. The service was great and everything is very affordably priced for the selection available at this restaurant. All staff and customers are required to follow CDC COVID19 guidelines while visiting. This was the worst experience of my life. I went to this bar last Friday with some friends, and they didn't let me in because I don't have an American ID. I'm just visiting, how would I even have an American ID? I showed them my Italian passport, and they refused it. I've never been through something like this before. We came in around 6:45 on Sunday evening. It was busy but not slammed. There were many open seats at the bar and we were able to grab a table. Our server was very sweet and got us waters quickly while we figured out what we wanted. We were absolutely starving and dehydrated after a day of walking all over St Pete. We just wanted a small quick bite and planned to move on somewhere else after a drink or two and a snack. We ordered two margaritas ($5.75 each) which were made quickly and tasted fine. And then we decided on their Chicken Tenders. BIG MISTAKE. It took almost an hour (over 45 minutes) for our food to come out. Our server kept apologizing and explaining that the kitchen was "slammed". I would not have been as upset if when the food finally arrived it wasn't an absolutely pathetic amount of food. We were given a basket with six small pieces of chicken, all different sizes and cooked differently, some burned some barely fried at all. It was served with two very very large cups of dipping sauce of your choice. With such a small amount of food who could ever use even half of one of the cups? The meals cost us $5.99 so that means each tiny bite of chicken was $1......? An absolute rip off and a waste of our time and money. They also have a variety of food that they serve into the late hours. It is all pub style fried goodness - but when you have been out and about - it is a great place to recharge for a bit. So, I'll get to the basics really quickly: Food: good. Not great, but it's obvious that they have a chef & it's not just typical bar food Service: great. Our server, Kate was attentive, quick, and efficient. She made sure our water cups stayed full & regularly checked in on us Location: the bar/food area was clean and there was ample seating when we arrived. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and there was a side area that was full of trash (not sure what it was used for) Now, that stuff above is not the reason why I gave this place one star. They received this low rating due to how this business is operating in a post- COVID-19 world. There are little signs up indicating that you must wear a mask, and our server tried so hard to enforce it, but as soon as she walked away, people would roll their eyes and remove them. When we arrived there was ample seating, about 3-4 people at the bar, and maybe 2 tables filled inside, and a few outside tables full. Which was great to see. That all changed as soon as 10pm hit. The place became CROWDED. Every table was stuffed to capacity, people at the bar were shoulder to shoulder, and the aisle was crowded. Once we received our food we immediately asked for boxes to go and left. You would think that there wasn't anything going on the way this establishment was ran. I did appreciate the fact that there were signs posted, and that every employee wore mask, but we just did not feel comfortable and I'm really disappointed that they weren't doing more to account for coronavirus. read more

My family and I have started going to five bucks and Seminole just recently . We have lived in Seminole since the early seventies and seen different restaurants at this location . Decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly surprised the price and the quality of the food was very good . While waiting for the others I looked over the railing at the water and all I could see was trash . I remember when they first built the place they had car or Corey in the watermelon along with lilies and it was very pleasing and relaxing to see this while waiting for a table . Now it is a sewer pit underneath the restaurant . It wouldn't take much for them to clean that trash that's floating on the water up give it a more pleasing atmosphere. There was even about a 4 ft alligator in the retention Pond underneath . Overall I would recommend the restaurant but not the view . read more
