I just don't get it. The burgers are fairly expensive and to me, the burgers themselves lack taste. They are big enough - but for all the hype, I would expect them to be somewhat like In-N-Out. But after eating at Five Guys, I feel like I need to try Teddy's again just to realign my expectations. There's a lot of stuff on the burger if you want it, but nothing stands out to me. We had an adventurous day today. We traveled all the way to Pearlridge from Hawaii Kai. I told my husband, we should eat somewhere that we don't have in town. We checked out the food court in Pearlridge but nothing really caught his eye. We saw Five Guys on our way in so we decided to try there for lunch since we've never been there. At first glance at their menu, the prices are extremely high. I had to ask the cashier questions about the items because the menu didn't really say which was which. So they have the normal hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, and then they also have little hamburger, little cheeseburger, etc. I asked her what's the difference. She said the little one only have one patty whereas the ones without little in their name have two patties. We decided to get the littles for us. Each burger was over $9.00 each. What's interesting was that you could add as many toppings that you want. It was kind of nice to be able to customize your own burger to how you want. It's better than getting a burger with extra stuff and you just end up taking it out. Anyway, so I got the little bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and Mayo. It was pretty good. We ate it there because we knew that if we did take out and ate it at home the fries would be terrible. The bacon was nice and crispy, just how I like it. My daughter and husband enjoyed it also. I just thought it was super expensive for all three us of for lunch. It came out to about $50. I wish I got the name of the cashier that serviced us but she was working this evening (5/07/21) and she was just so patient, kind, and just great. I was pretty disappointed in our meal. I got a cheese hot dog and my boyfriend got a cheeseburger. We split a large fries and he got a drink. Everything came out to $50, which is insane. I can't believe how much it was for such a small meal. This was my first time trying their hot dog and I had no idea they split it in half. For the price, I was expected a big, juicy hot dog. Instead, it was small and smushed. My boyfriend's burger also looked like it was just thrown together and smushed in the bag. They put a good amount of fries (it was $8) but half of them were thrown on the bottom of the bag. By the time we got home, the bag left a puddle of grease in my hand. I wish I was joking-- and that I took a picture. It's the next day and my car still smells like burgers and fries. With all the oil, the fries were soggy and wet. When I walked into the place I thought I might be in a club. The music was deafening! I asked for a shake, they were out, I asked for a fountain soda, they were out. We were looking for a place for burger and fries to go, but our favorite place was closed. I figured Five Guys would be a great option. This was our first time at the Pearlridge location, which was convenient. They have their own entrance right off the parking lot so you don't need to enter the mall to eat here. They have some outdoor tables, which are in direct sun and didn't look comfortable. In a non-COVID19 world, their dining room is large and well lit with plenty of tables and booths for enjoying your food. Prices are typical here; the regular burgers are huge so be sure to note the small sizes. Beef is freshly prepared, fries are freshly cut raw potatoes when fried. Be sure to ask for free peanuts. All the burger toppings are included in the price, so go crazy. They also have milkshakes with the same concept; everything from Oreos and chocolate to bacon! Our only complaint was the burgers were extremely greasy, which made them feel not as fresh by the time we ate them. The staff was conscientious and clean. The pickup system worked well to avoid contact. They also have online ordering to save time. It's a good option for burger and fries. read more

Pricing: it is a bit pricier than one would think for a burger. To add fries, you're looking at spending about $12-15. I wish they did have combos. Service: it's a quick interaction. I do wish they were a little more friendly and mentioned that you can pick the topping on the board to add to your burger. For $15 I would expect the patty to at least stay together. It didn't.. Just bad, overall bad . I had the bacon burger and I have to say the dried pieces of bacon at the bottom were probably the most enjoyable part.. the bun was liquefied do the amount of grease coming off the disintegrating meat patty. The meat patty fell apart in my hands, while I was attempting to eat this greasy nightmare . The service was not terrible, but the ambience was absolutely atrocious, considering the employees who I have to assume we're not even older than 18 years of age were blasting way above the comfortable limit, what can only be described as electronic dance music. It was LOUD. Uncomfortably loud. The older couple next to me I was chatting with we're also incredibly turned off by the experience. Then there's the fact that the young man who took my order, was clearly stoned out of his mind. Where are the adults in charge of this restaurant? If you continue to have no oversight, then it's going to hurt sales. Considering this was 2 o'clock in the afternoon on a Sunday when the rest of the mall was absolutely packed this is a very bad sign for five guys at Pearlridge. It was a nice road trip to get out of Honolulu and into the Aiea / Pearl City area once during the ongoing pandemic of 2020+. And so, a friend of mine came to this Five Guys location on a brisk Sunday afternoon in April 2021. My friend was craving a nice burger and didn't know where to go, so we just thought of Five Guys and off we went. We were thankful that Five Guys were open that afternoon on a Sunday. They close late at 10pm and it wasn't busy at all, so we just got in line and ended up getting what we wanted without having to wait too long. Due to the current pandemic, face masks are required, but in person dining is now allowed until further notice. My friend and I arrived around 5pm and the place was empty, except for one booth being occupied. Five Guys is your typical burger joint from the mainland US, which tries to establish itself here at home in Hawaii. The experience here lasted about 1 hour, from ordering, to pick up, and enjoying our meals before leaving. Five Guys itself is clean and spacious, sporting a few tables and booths to accommodate for in person dining on any given day. I particularly enjoyed the fries, which I ordered Cajun style. Unlike the major fast food joints, they serve it in a paper cup and place it in a paper bag, since they like to give a lot of food. I ordered the little cheeseburger, with everything on it, along with a thick large milkshake to complete the meal. The overall experience here at this Five Guys location was pretty nice and it was a cool excuse to get out of Honolulu and see other parts of the island in this pandemic. The little cheese burger seemed like a typical cheeseburger that's abnormally larger than life. It was definitely worth the drive here, especially when most burgers I've encountered were just lackluster as of late. Five Guys is a mainland institution that made itself to Hawaii and its been good. The only issue with Five Guys is that you have to order everything ala carte, which can add up fairly quickly and over $10 easy. Be prepared for some sticker shock at the counter when you're paying, but the food speaks for itself. For the most part though, having a customized cheeseburger helps ease the cost down, especially when it's super duper delicious. If you are on this side of Oahu and craving an awesome burger or even Cajun fries, consider coming here for lunch or dinner. It's definitely not cheap for a burger joint, but well worth your time. Definitely recommended for sure. This Five Guys location is situated in the Pearlridge Shopping Center in Aiea, currently next to Pieology. They accept major credit cards, which is always awesome, as well as cash. Due to the pandemic, credit card payments are always preferred, since the staff doesn't need to touch cash. As far as parking goes, you have plenty of parking while shopping and dining at Pearlridge shopping center. If you are like me, bus routes 11, 20, 32, 40, 42, 51, 53, 88, and Country Express A stops off at Pearlridge Shopping Center on a daily basis. The staff here was nice and friendly. The experience ordering was quick and the menu is really user friendly. You get what you want without the filler. Just a good burger joint and you get that with Five Guys. Exploring the Pearlridge area... After a movie at this shopping mall, I remembered reading friends' reviews about this third location on Oahu of Five Guys. This is a mainland chain and I had been to the Mililani store when it first arrived in Hawaii. I found free parking on the Macy's side of the mall. Five Guys is right next to the new Pieology. Hmmm... there's another place to check out! Haha! Anyway, I was the only customer this afternoon on a week day. I had the run of the place and the full attention of the staff! I helped myself to the complimentary peanuts after I placed my order. I got the cheeseburger "all the way" which means I took all of the additions (ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, grilled onions, pickles, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato) at no extra charge. I paid less than $11, including tax for this moist, tasty, double-pattied burger. This location is more convenient for me as compared with Mililani and Kapolei. I might be back if I'm craving a burger again. Maybe next time, I'll get a shake with a hot dog... or fries and a beverage - because I want to use the self-serve dispenser! read more

I remembered the very last time I ate a burger from Five Guys was back in 1995, when I was in Virginia visiting my one of my childhood friends who at the time was working for the late senator Daniel Akaka. What can I say about the burgers at Five Guys? I have just one word..........SOLID!!!! You won't be disappointed coming here. and you definitely won't leave hungry after eating a burger at Five Guys! This past Friday night, I hold my friend that I wanted to go to Five Guys Burger because I wanted to relive my gleeful burger experience at Five Guys! Lucky for me, Five Guys opened a 3rd location (this year) at the Pearlridge Shopping Center..............as on Oahu, there already is a Kapolei, & Mililani location. For me, the Pearlridge Five Guys location is the closest in proximity from my house...........but since I live in town, getting out to Pearlridge on a Friday night is still a trek for me. What can I say about the new Five Guys Burger in Pearlridge? The restaurant is well lit, and very clean looking.........lots of free parking within the Pearlridge Shopping Center, but parking can be challenging at times depending on when you go to the mall. Five Guys offers a pretty simple menu of - Burgers, Hotdogs, Sandwiches, Fries, & Shakes. They also offer the free "roasted peanuts" here............I remembered when I was in Virginia, the peanut thing was pretty cool and different. Only difference was the restaurant I went to in Virginia had peanut shells all over the floor, as they allowed customers to just throw the peanut shells on the floor after eating their peanuts. Upon walking into the restaurant, we were greeted right away by the clerk at the ordering counter. After looking over the menu, my friend ordered a Cheeseburger ($10.39) with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mayo, tomatoes, lettuce, & ketchup. As for me, I got a Veggie Cheese Sandwich ($5.99) which had green peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms. I also ordered one "Little Cajun Fry" ($4.19). And to wash down our meals, we both got regular sodas ($3.29 each). What can I say about our burgers? OUTSTANDING! I stopped eating red meat about 2 years ago, so the Veggie Cheese Sandwich was my only option here, but I must tell you that Veggie Cheese sandwich was deeeeeeeeeeelicious!!!! It was loaded with veggies, and I loved the way they sauteed the onions & mushrooms! My friend also enjoyed the cheeseburger as it was loaded with meat & veggies! As for the fries???? Oh my gawd!!! "Little Cajun Fry" is actually not so little at all! Did you see the serving size of my fries???? There was enough fries for 3 people! I told my friend to help me eat it, as the serving size was huge!!! Overall a wonderful burger experience!
