I think the food is good but also way too expensive and for Evan for 3 people it cost 55 pounds

Great food and drinks and the food is ready less than 30 minutes me and my family love this restaurant and thier milkshakes are god tier

Small, over cooked, under seasoned and over priced burgers, in a cold, impersonal and over hyped "restaurant" The above is not what I was expecting from Five Guys, but unfortunately, that's what I got. I thought I may have been the victim of 'over hype' as I had heard great reports. But I've thought about it, reflected, and it just wasn't very good. I had the cheeseburger with lettuce, onions, jalapeños and hot sauce. The 2 burgers (patties) were both thinner than I expected and were over cooked. I like a burger to be slightly pink and juicy, but this was grey and dry and almost tasteless. I was glad to see they did a sesame bun as a lot of places go for brioche nowadays, but this had been man handled and looked like it had been abused. The jalapeños were fresh, which is great, normally, but not in a burger. The taste is too strong. They taste a bit earthy and are pretty overpowering. Burger jalapeños should be from a jar, every time! The onions were ok, but pretty u memorable, if I'm honest. The Cajun fries were great. The seasoning was super tasty with just the right amount of kick. Now, this may sound silly, but there was no way you need that many chips. It felt like they know the burger was rubbish and way over priced, so threw in and extra 8 potatoes worth of chips to compensate. The chips are the only reason this isn't a 2 star review. You can chose from (apparently) 260 drinks. Nice, but you stand there looking like a knob trying to figure out weather to add cherry, cherry vanilla or 'steak a mash potato' flavour to your coke! It's a bit over kill if you ask me (note, there isn't any steak and mash potatoes flavour - it would definitely be 4 stars if there was) The restaurant itself feels very cold and canteen like. The white and red only decor doesn't make for a very comforting or welcoming experience. And when I'm spending £14 on lunch, I want to feel good about where I'm eating. All in all I was really disappointed and I'm still surprised I'm giving Five Guys 3 stars, but I guess I still think I must be missing something! I thought it was rubbish, but I think I'm on my own! Great little restaurant. Was only in Bristol for three days and visited this place twice. It's a Five Guys which is a good start for me, as we don't have them back home in Australia and I'd only ever tried them before in Canada. The restaurant was clean, well staffed and we were served pretty quickly. There was a nice window at the back we could sit at and look at the view. Would recommend. read more

I really enjoyed my food here, the fries are rustic ones, really nice and the drinks machine is amazing! Every kind of coke flavour and fanta it's really different I loved it! However price wise I feel like we could have got gone to Burger King and got the same for half the price 2 burgers and regular fries came to £24 which is pricey for fast food. I'm glad I have been and tried it but would not be a regular Visit due to prices. Worth a trip though if you've never tried it before! read more

Had heard mixed reviews about 5 guys so thought I'd give them a try and make up my own mind. First impressions were that the place was incredibly busy so had to wait a bit to order - I just went for a regular cheeseburger with lettuce, pickles, tomato and relish to keep things simple although they haves huge number of toppings you can choose from. The burger looked good when it arrived in its silver wrapping, after taking a couple of bites I realised they had missed the relish from the order but looking at the queue I didn't go back to complain. The burger was pretty greasy- think this was what 5 guys describe as "well done and juicy" and I was left with heartburn and a greasy feel in my mouth that won't go without a good tooth brushing. I may be missing the point of 5 guys but the burger tasted more "burger van" burger than gourmet burger but at gourmet burger prices. read more

Five Guys caused a bit of a stir amongst Bristol's burger fans when it arrived in Cabot Circus, and rightly so! Yes, it's in Cabot Circus which is a pain in itself and no, you're not going to get table service and a dining 'experience' like you would do at somewhere like Atomic Burger or The Burger Joint, but what you will get is the hangover burger of your dreams! The kind of burger you see in the movies, all gooey cheese and juicy patty-it really is pure guilty pleasure food at its finest! I have been in two minds weather to rate this a 3 or 4 star and I'm not really sure why. I think it's been hyped up so much that I was possibly left a little disappointed. I ordered a 'little' cheeseburger with 'little' Cajun fries and a drink. The little cheese burger is only one burger where the standard is two. There is NO way I could have finished all my food, the amount if chips you get is ridiculous, you're better off ordering a little fries to share between two people. I think my food came to about £11 which is a little pricey. The burger itself was nice, it was pretty standard though & I can't say I was overwhelmed by the tastiness. The Cajun fries though were delicious and I would highly recommend over normal fries. The drinks machine has every fizzy drink imaginable, I was completely in my element. I went for peach fanta first time round then grape fanta, both were delicious. The restaurant itself was very cold which I think also put me off. I hate being cold, especially when I'm eating out. The decor is plain red and white which doesn't feel very welcoming. All of this being said I will be going back, I enjoyed my food even though there were a couple of little gripes. Five guys, 1 cup! I will start by saying one of the best burgers I have ever eaten was at a Five Guys in Orlando. That burger was meaty, delicious, prepped with care and also cheap ($4) and oh so tasty. So as you can imagine I was looking forward to the Bristol Branch opening. Unfortunately my burger dreams were dashed and the whole experience was a complete let down. Imagine your favourite film remade by Uwe Boll starring Jennifer Aniston and the cast of Hollyoaks and you get the idea. First the burger itself. 2 meagre patties with minimum flavour. Any half decent burger bar will have confidence in their meat and offer you how you would like it cooked. The fact that five guys does Well Done only sets alarm bells ringing, If it was tasty I could forgive this, However it is not. If you watch the 'production line' prep your burger you can see the crimes that are committed against the beef. First the patty is squished flatter the T800 in a steel press thus driving out any flavour or moisture from the meat. 2 burger are used to make the normal cheeseburger but again the cheese is off poor quality (forgivable if there is a lot - there is not) and not given enough time to melt and bond with the burger. The whole production line is Taylorism at it's worst. There were over 9 people involved in the making of my burger. It still took over 10 minutes to reach me - cold The bun is toasted but due to the production line method by the time your burger is assembled it is cold. In fact this goes for the whole burger which was tepid at best. Now all these things could be forgiven if the price is right. However at £8 for the burger alone it is way overpriced. If you were to add on a drink and fries you are looking at over £12 for a meal for 1. I don't mind paying an extra premium if your are getting the quality but you are not. For the same cost you can have an all in meal at burger joint, a premium burger from Byron's, 4 big kings or 5 Maccy D double cheeseburgers, All of these are move favourable and better value. I so wanted to like five guys but it is failed to straddle the line between fast food and a premium burger joint failing to play to the strengths of either and instead straddling the line of overpriced mediocrity. Such a shame and I can't wait to head back to America to have a 5 guys done properly and not the sanitised, poor value failure we have to endure in the UK. 2/5 read more

First time ever went to 5 guys. yes we had to queue outside and it was a bit off putting as the idea of queuing outside for a burger seems wrong .once inside, place your order (burger! everything on it, fries and a drink) £2,50 unlimited refills. you can stand and watch as your order is put together by very busy yet so friendly staff. The burger itself is very filling and messy, so good. I recommend you should be pretty hungry before you go, i was full for so many hours after. It is not the cheapest, it may be a bit noisy and a bit busy for taking your other half but by all the burger gods you have to try it once! I am not entirely convinced about the chips fried in peanut butter oil i will have to go back for a second opinion read more

Oh dear! So close and yet so far. Having been to a 'real' 5 Guys in America and a couple of the branches recently opened in London I had really high expectations for the branch in Bristol. We went during the Christmas break at around 3pm (not a peak time but also not off-peak due to the extra shoppers at Christmas). The queue was out the door and we had to wait around 15 minutes to be served, this was not a problem and it was good to see so many Bristol peeps trying out the new burger kid in town. Two of us ordered burgers and I ordered a hot dog (you really must check out the hot dogs here, they're amazing). The food did not disappoint and was just like the food I'd had before at other branches. The 'Freestyle' Coke machine (these are everywhere in the States) is great to see and allows for some very creative drinks combinations if you fill your cup half and half (it's also great for watching people who haven't used one before and are completely thrown by so many choices being presented to them). The prices are quite high (but this is the same in London branches and is kind of expected when it's main selling point is being a 'cool' American imported brand of fast food). So far..so good. Two let-downs were present, however (nothing major and I really hope these can be addressed in the future): 1) Cleaning after people have eaten. Part of the 5 Guys experience is trying the peanuts in shells/husks, this is great. Until you sit down at an empty table to eat your food and the table, chairs and floor are covered in peanut shells and skins - not nice. This wasn't just our table either, it seems cleaning tables was more of an afterthought than anything else (contrast this with somewhere like McDonalds where a cleaner pounces on your table the second you finish with a spray bottle and cloth). 2) People standing, waiting for their food to be cooked once they've ordered. The layout of this particular branch results in people who have just paid for their order congregating in a large group near the kitchen area waiting to pickup their food. This area is also where people queue for the two Coke Freestyle machines. This means at busy times there is a constant group of around 15 or so people stood waiting right in the middle of the restaurant, annoying if you're trying to get past but very annoying if you happen to be sat at one of the tables that are situated next to this area (as we were). Overall this place really does have potential, good food, friendly counter staff and a positive brand image. It's just a shame that what lets it down is so easy to fix. read more

I am such a huge fan of Five Guys. First visit for me couldn't come quick enough. I love the whole set up and the interior etc. I could eat Five Guys most days if the price was a little cheaper. I had a cheese burger, onions, mushroom, lettuce, extra cheese and sauce with a drink and fries. I found the burger really tasty and the chips were great to. Love the drinks machine, to much to choose from, half the drinks I have never seen before. So glad Bristol has a Five Guys. Highly recommend, give this place a go. read more

Firstly can I just say I'm so glad I don't have to go to Birmingham for my Five Guys fix, secondly when approaching an experience at Five Guys you need to think of it as an experience and not just a burger. Tons of toppings, insanely large portions of chips and 100 drinks to choose from. It's fun food that comes with a bit of a price tag but it's not designed to be eaten every day after all. I went to Five Guys due to all the hype about it. There was a mix up with my order to start with and they gave me the double patty cheeseburger by mistake (rather than the one patty - no problem as I got a bigger burger for the cheaper price). The burger was 'tasty' but so greasy I had to use several napkins to stop it from crawling down my arms. The chips however were amazing, way too big for one person (we shared a small portion between 2 and still had leftovers!) atmosphere is very empty but what made it worse was that they call your number (yes you're given a number) and your pick up your food in a brown bag...ermmmm is this meant to be takeaway?? Apparently over 200 options for drinks with free refills - sounds exciting!! Wait till you get to the machine and realise that it's over complicated and times out whilst you're deciding. After 3 attempts I chose a standard coke. Overall not impressed and plenty of other expensive burger joints in Bristol that are way better than this one. read more

Went in last night and ordered take away burgers and fries. The burger was dry and tasteless (would have been better at McDonalds or the like) and the fries were burnt and completely inedible. I rarely eat from this kind of venue but thought Five Guys was offering a better product. Don't bother. read more

This IS BIGG FOOD! I was hungry but didn't need all that I got. It was tasty though with great meat pattie and delicious chees topping. The chips were ok but very filling not just on amount but on flavour. My advice would be if you go large, share some fries! read more

Very expensive, I paid £10.50 for a small milkshake and a small cheese burger, they did not even add fries with that. Which planet are these people on? For half of that I could have got the same with Fries at Burger King. Sooner or later the business going to fail, no wonder the place was really quiet. read more
