I don't get it. The food is here is ok but I'd rather go to Mooyah, Whataburger, In and Out, etc. I think there biggest competition is Mooyah which I think is much better. I have burgers here a few times. It's ok but not the best. The fries are better than the burgers in my opinion. This location is fairly clean inside but the tables are not cleaned very quickly. The reason I'm only giving two stars is the terrible level of service. First, they are SLOW. Yeah I get it's not a fast food place but geez. Expect to wait. Second, they do t seem to know what they are doing. I have called in several orders for pick up. When I arrive 15 minutes later I'm told "We just started the order". Are you kidding me? This has happened a number of times. Same story. "Oh we just got your order. We are staring it now" I feel like when I have gone here I'm bothering the staff. Like buying there food is a burden. Maybe it's because they are all young adults I don't know. After waiting once for TWENTY minutes for a pick up order I asked how much longer will it be, I was told "It will be done soon" what's "soon"? Well it turns out to be an additional 15 minutes. They are rude there. I will NEVER go back. I will never recommend this location. Go up the road to Mooyah. They have never provided bad service or ridiculous wait times like Five Guys. I grew up eating five guys on the east coast and hadn't had it in years so I was excited to get it again. I place a pick up order. I arrived on time and was told that they were just waiting on fries. Sat there for 10-15 minutes past pick up time while my burger got cold, waiting for fries. Get fries, go to my car, try a few fries and they are completely covered in Salt. Copious amounts of salt. So much salt I and my girlfriend couldn't even eat it, it was disgusting. I go back in and ask them to remake the fries with less salt. Wait another 10-15 minutes for fries. Go out to my car, and these replacement fries are exactly the same - wayyyy to much salt. An inedible, disgusting amount of salt. Completely caked in Salt. At this point I wasn't going to wait another 15 minutes only to have high school employees screw up a third time so I went home. My Burger was ice cold due to waiting 30+ minutes for fries Next time I want five guys I'll go to a different location. Or just get mooyah instead. What a horrible experience. read more

We dined in on the 4th of July because we wanted hot dogs (because that's American, right?) and enjoyed the experience. I ordered the cheese dog ($5.39) with grilled onions, mustard, and relish and my husband had the regular dog ($4.69) with grilled onions, mustard, and chopped pickles. I do really love that all of their toppings are free of charge, but the hot dog price seemed a little high to me. I would typically eat two dogs but didn't want to pay $10+ for it. We also ordered a large cajun fry ($5.79) to share and those were great. Next time I would ask for light seasoning, but that's just me. My husband loved the amount of spice. The amount of fries they gave us was honestly comical, though (in a good way). We got our large cup full of fries and then a TON of extra dumped into the bag. It was two large orders AT LEAST! Came here for lunch today. Went to walk in at 11:05 am and the doors were still locked. Another person waiting outside as well for an 11 am interview. Guy comes to let person in for their interview a few minutes after standing there. Tells me to hold on and re-locks the door. This is at 11:10 am. So I am trying to do more of a Keto style eating and this place has been posted by so many I though I would give it a go. It has been a long time since I had eaten here I forgot it was a double meat unless you get the "little" which is a single patty. I felt a little better about the price after this realization. Oh and you get all the toppings you want. I got the bacon cheese burger without the bun. You can have it wrapped in lettuce or they will put it in a bowl. I sat down to eat and realized there was no bacon and I initially thought oh well but then I was like ...no I paid 9.73 for this burger let me go get the bacon...so I did and I felt better. This store was having a bad night tonight (1/15/23). There was enough bacon on the bacon burger or the BLT to make 1 proper sandwich between the 2. The buns on all 3 sandwiches were stale and hard and the must have been behind on fries because they were the most undercooked, floppy, rushed fries ever. We waited 50 minutes for our order. If you want people to return, be honest when you can't make food that meets yours or anyone else's standard. No way would what was served meet corporate standards. Be honest and say, we're having a bad day, we don't have any fresh buns or we're understaffed and your going to get poor food tonight. Taking everyone's money, at inflated, recession prices, making them wait 50 mins and then serving totally garbage food is unacceptable. Be honest, I'll return. Serve dog food and treat a customer like your not important and you'll do whatever necessary to take every dollar no matter how bad your service gets you off the regular list of go to places. Looks like there's been plenty of bad reviews for this location so this will probably get lost in the mix. Regardless, my latest interaction at this Five Guys affected me enough to write a review. I came into the building and there was only 1 employee (no big deal yet) who was sweeping, made eye contact but didn't otherwise acknowledge my standing at the counter. I figured I would give him a minute to take my order but he just kept sweeping and looking at his phone. After about 5 minutes of just standing there I asked "Would it be possible to order something please?" To which he responded "Don't you people eat burritos?". It took me a second to register that he was deducing my heritage by my skin color. At this point I didn't have any appetite at all and wished there was another employee or patron to witness what had just happened. We walked in and there were 6 people on the grill but we had to wait 5 minutes for one of them to come and take our order. We wanted milkshakes but their machine was out. The coke machine was out of a ton of different sodas and flavors (one literally didn't have coke). There were only 2 medium lids out and no containers for the ketchup and the ketchup machine was empty. Place was pretty empty and I see why. The food was just okay. The burger was under-seasoned and the Cajun fries were far too salty. The floors were extremely dirty too. Not happy with this 5 Guys store! It's always dirty and I've purchase Coke Zero once a week for the last 3 weeks and the soda machine is not working correctly! They had to refund on the drinks 2 times, but the fix today was they gave me a plastic 20 Oz bottle of Diet Coke! It's OK but it's not Coke Zero- yes there's a difference. Admittedly, with so many restaurants in this world, I forget about ordering from a simple good old hamburger place. Tonight we were craving a "good" burger, and my husband said, "OH, I forgot we have a Five Guys in Denton!" Decision made, that was easy! I just love their burgers. I typically get a hamburger, plain and dry, but at Five Guys, I always get cheese! There is something about the even melting of the cheese that makes it almost drip through the hamburger patty! I just LOVE them! So, "just a burger" is not a good descriptor for Five Guys!!!! They have PERFECTED the fast food burger. Hands down! I guess the quality of the meat is better than whataburger. But the cost of a cheeseburger + fries + drink is over $20! As others have said, the staff are SLOW. The music is loud and I know this isn't their fault since its how the franchise is set up, but the overall noise in the place is beyond what I'm comfortable with. Especially as I'm sitting their waiting 20 minutes for my order. They wrap everything in aluminum foil-so when you get it home the bread on the burger is an almost liquid soggy mess. Cajun fries are worth a try! Burgers are really good! Plus you get peanuts while you wait so that's a plus. It is pretty pricey for a burger. Everything you order is al a carte to order. The burgers are decent but they don't live up to the hype. If you get the burger topped with their standard mix it has wayyyy too many conflicting flavors and it masks the burger flavor. The fries are good but it is very confusing why the small size is portioned for several people to share - this makes it wasteful to order your own fries and it adds complication to groups who want to pay separately but end up sharing the fries. Overall I think the place is decent but not worth dealing with the uncomfortable, loud environment. If I want a mid-priced burger I end up just going to another place in area. read more
