I went here after a long workout and even longer day of meetings and the staff was so kind. I know I looked terrible but they welcomed me in, explained any menu item I was unsure of and stayed patient as I weighed my options. Since I wasn't terribly hungry, I only ordered the sweet potato fries but the restaurant smelled delightful so I'm sure the rest of their food had to be the cause of that. There were several jars of bottle caps throughout the dining room. One gentleman was explaining a game that could be played with them and allowed me to bring a few home for a friends collection. Honestly, a pleasant experience and I didn't feel out of place as a sweaty American. Luckily, the smell of food in the restaurant outweighed my gym stench!

It's clear that the new Harp burger has found a niche in Linden in Linden's food culture. The burgers are creative, and most of all taste fantastic! Despite being messy, the homemade sauces bring out the flavor of the burger, and the handmade chips/fries are thick and crispy and cooked to perfection! It's pub culture with elevated burger cuisine. Despite fighting to get a table there as almost everything was reserved, we enjoyed the casual, rustic atmosphere and the good food! Totally recommend this to burger fans - but try to book a table in advance!

You'd have to order on the counter and then get it yourself when the order is ready. That being said, the staff was really friendly and spoke English for those non-Deutsch speakers. Quality vis-a-vis price is quite good. A burger, fries and drink would cost between 11-16 Euros. Of, course if you do fancy a steak, it is also available. I prefer their BBQ burger with fries and that truffle-mayo dip. I don't quite get why the drinks are so small. Apart from the beers, drinks come in a meager 200ml portions. I'm not entirely sure whether this is something common in Germany or the stores' way of getting you to buy another drink. Overall, this is a nice place with good burgers, friendly staff and great location.

The dishes are, however, missing the high points in execution and my dish was downright sloppy. My husband ordered the braised calf with brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes and I ordered the fish over rice noodles and asian veggies. The amuse bouche they brought out was most welcome on this particular cold night: a creamy squash soup with buttery fried croutons on top. Comforting and delicious, it left us wanting more. When the food came out, my husband's dish was good although unoriginal with the red wine braise and we had to admit we've had better elsewhere. The sides were as expected, just plain mashed potatoes and boiled brussels sprouts. Mine was a hot mess. The fish suffered an unworthy death--or perhaps it committed seppuku--atop a pile of over-salted, overcooked, and unfocused ingredients that were cut and presented haphazardly on the plate. Falling apart, the rice noodles were mushy and the veggies were cut so big I had trouble putting some pieces of bell peppers and carrots into my mouth. The seasoning of everything had no discernible flavor other than salt and a hint of ginger powder. The dish would have benefited from better cutting of the fish for a more professional presentation, julienning the veggies instead of just slicing, not overcooking the rice noodles or perhaps using flour noodles, and a more focused and exciting flavor profile or maybe even a sauce as a binding element for the fish to the ingredients underneath. I think the chef thought he could save the dish by sprinkling store bought fried onions on top but it just added to the confusion. In the end, while the service was attentive and friendly, the meats were perfectly cooked and all ingredients fresh, the presentation and flavors were amateur.

We took a cab from our hotel to this place and were pleasantly surprised. The staff and other customers were nice enough to explain to us how to work the machines. So we put our first loads into the washing machines, sat down nearby so we would know when the laundry finished, and ordered some drinks and lunch. The special that day was a casserole with potatoes, ground beef, cabbage, and carrots that satisfied my appetite. The only complaints I have are about the number of machines. Two of the washing machines were down and two of the four available dryers. So it was competitive between customers to claim a machine. Luckily, the dryers are industrial strength and could handle the combined weight of three persons' worth of laundry, so we did not need two. Also, I think one of the washing machines I used malfunctioned, because at the end of the cycle, the clothes were still dripping wet. I had to wring them out into a laundry basket before putting them into the dryer. In short, this is a quirky, fun place where you can get something to eat, enjoy a drink, and get your laundry done all under one roof.
