Delicious Food, Warm Service -- A Great Dining Spot with Minor Flaws We recently dined at Five Restaurant for the second time already and overall had a great experience. Food From the specialty menu, we tried the Caprese, Lobster Ravioli, and Pescatore Linguini, along with a glass of wine. The food was flavorful and beautifully prepared -- the sauces on the pasta dishes were impressive. My only small critique is that the Pescatore Linguini needed just a touch more salt. Dessert was a treat: we ordered the Lava Cake and Chocolate Bread Pudding. The flavors were rich and satisfying, although the bread pudding was slightly undercooked in the center. Still, we really enjoyed both. Service The service was exceptional. Our server was incredibly professional, attentive, and kind -- a noticeable step above others we saw working that night. He made sure we felt taken care of from start to finish, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Interior Sitting The restaurant's interior was stylish and comfortable, but the seating for two was quite tight. Tables were placed too close together, which made it difficult for my pregnant wife to get in and out easily. It also felt a bit awkward to have conversations with other diners so nearby. Overall Despite those small issues, the food, service, and ambiance made it a great night out. We'd definitely return -- especially for the specialties. read more

Entering the restaurant the ambiance felt upscale and luxurious. The hosts were very kind.. they seemed pretty busy for a Wednesday night, but we got to be seated right away. For drinks we ordered passion fruit martini's.. it was way too sweet, it would've been nice if they were shaken just five more seconds! 2/5 We skipped appetizers and went straight for entrees! We ordered Chicken parm and clam linguine.. Chicken parm: Chicken was meh.. I wish the breading had more flavor and the chicken was on the drier side. Tomato sauce was also plain.. but it was a generous portion size that can feed two. Next up was the clam linguine, the portion of the pasta was very small, but they were very generous with the clams... The sauce was the star of the show, it brought the flavors together, and made me continue to enjoy my meal!! 3.5/5 Overall, nothing really stood out to me other than the outstanding service and ambiance. It was really crowded and noisy with a lot of drunk people. One drunk guy knocked a glass off a table and the glass shattered all over the place. People who came in after us were served before us. This was supposed to be a nice night out for my wife's birthday but we were seated at a very small table for two sandwiched between two other small tables. Despite how noisy it was we could clearly hear the conversations of the people next to us. We couldn't get out of there fast enough and we won't be back. read more

Stopped here after wine tasting with friends. Service was great and the food was so good! I can't stop thinking about the steak bites and my boyfriend loved the pizza! Ambiance is great although I did think the music was loud when my group first sat down. Service was also a standout, our server (Ryan I think) did a nice job outlining the specials and my glass was always full of water (this is very important to me). As for the food it wasn't my favorite presentation wise and flavor wise which knocked my review down. I normally excuse atmosphere if the food is outstanding but this restaurant had the opposite problem for me. I got the risotto expecting more of a balance of vegetables but I didn't see any mushrooms. I was surprised by the amount of peas. It kind of felt like they ran out of the other vegetables and just put more peas. read more

Went to "Five" to celebrate a late bday dinner for our daughter-in-law. Pat, as always was his usual wonderful, friendly self going around the restaurant and greeting his guests. We love this about him! He sent over dessert for our daughter-in-law for her bday and because she is carrying our first grandbaby! :) We cannot say enough good things about the waitstaff as well. Our water glasses are always filled and our waitress was amazing! We loved the rustica bread and fried artichoke hearts! the buccatini ala mama is superb! Pizza's are "on mark", love the crusts! Their chicken rollatini is a great choice as well. Atmosphere is pleasant, upscale and beautiful. Thank you Pat for providing our community with a all around wonderful place to dine. Food is tasty. Environment is nice but can use a little more updating the patios is inviting. Our server wasn't too attentive but it wasn't too bad being in a date. It did feel a little weird because he helped a lot of other couples but being two men we felt a little bit neglected. The prices are a little high for the quality but the aesthetic and location make up for it. While I didn't feel unwelcomed, I would have liked to have a little more attention. read more

We went for a Father's Day dinner and sat on the patio as we requested. We were seated at a table next to a large outdoor fan/cooler at the edge of the patio right by the door inside the restaurant. The combination of the fan placement and the wind coming in from outside was just too much and we had to ask to be moved. New table was good and the wind problem subsided. We ordered coconut shrimp and drinks. The appetizer was delicious but the presentation on the plate wasn't anything special. My Lavender Martini was good but could have used a tad more Lavender. We had to ask to place our dinner order. Our meal came promptly, but again, plated presentation was nothing special. My Prime Rib was the worst Ive ever had. Slightly dry and crispy and tough on the edges, didn't cut easily. We had a few bites and had the rest boxed up to bring home. The service was kinda poorly done. No personable, warm reception at all. Too many servers doing too many different jobs. Ambiance? Lacking also. We drove from Coarsegold to eat there specifically. We won't waste the drive again. read more

We went a few weeks ago for our friends 56th anniversary. Obviously we are Seniors & they put us out in the cold drafty patio. It was not the atmosphere we were wanting for our friends anniversary. We asked to be moved but was told they had nothing inside. The food & service was good but was very disappointed in where we were seated. I was asked when I made the reservation what we were celebrating & I said it was a 56th anniversary. Not sure why they would put us outside knowing we are older & wanting some atmosphere. Then we moved to the corner booth when our grandson got there. Briana was our server. Very nice and attentive. The food is delicious . Atmosphere is nice. Beautiful restaurant. Drinks were good. Appetizers were good except for the fillet mignon steak bites. Did order 5 of the appetizers. They were a bit chewy. Clam linguine was delicious even though I only had less than 10 bites to save room for bread pudding. The bread pudding was interesting. No sauce but chocolate on it. Not sure if I'm a fan of the new variation of the bread pudding. Service was good. Overall not a bad meal but would not recommend a few items on the menu. read more

The ambiance is great, low lit and packed restaurant. We visited on 8/15 and we're not disappointed. Our server Brianna was attentive, cordial and very helpful when offering food options. We were seated promptly after our arrival for our reservation. The meal was fabulous. We had the wonderful Rustica Bread for a starter. We both had the Filet Mignon with whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. The filets were a perfect medium rare as requested. The potatoes and asparagus were delicious. My wife had the Daou Chardonnay. I had a Paper Airplane cocktail followed by a Peach Whiskey Sour. Both were excellent. The ambience was great. Our server Ryan and all the staff were perfectly attentive. We had not been to Five for years. After our great experience we were asking ourselves why we have waited so long. The food is good overall, they get so packed and parking is ridiculous- we circled like 10 times before we found one. Keep in mind they share the parking lot with several other establishments including Sequoia Brewery. Highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time and carpool if you're going with a group. The service is excellent, the servers are always going above and beyond for you. The wait time for the food is pretty long which Isn't surprising if you go on a weekend. They give you table bread and a delicious olive tapenade. Cocktails are solid-- the French 75 is delish and the espresso martinis are good as well. I've had the salads, carpaccio, pizza, coconut shrimp- all good, haven't had anything I disliked. I'm turned off by the parking and overwhelming crowds here so I only come on special occasions or for birthdays, grad dinners etc. read more

Hello all , well had an opportunity to visit the "5". Food was very good including our appetizers , I had the calzone which was unbelievable huge and the sauce was fantastic. My appetizer was the coconut shrimp and it didn't last long. The service was great, Miranda our waitress was fantastic and so attentive and cheerful what a great representative of this establishment. The ambiance was lively after work meeting place we were a party of 6 so we were seated outside in an enclosed patio with heaters that were intense but Miranda took care of that. Bar area was packed looked nice folks having a fun time. The pricing was a little steep for this type of restaurant which was casual and I like that but prices didn't reflect that. Parking is challenging so be prepared. read more
