The barber here did a great job. He was alone, apparently the other barbers didn't feel like working, and I had to wait but he got me in since his appointment was a no show. Sadly, he then proceeded to charge me double the posted amount. The sign says $25 for a haircut, but he told me (after the cut) it would be $50. He then gave me a "deal" for $40. Then he told me it was cash only, even though there were no signs posted saying that. Curious if the owner realizes that it is illegal to tell someone they need to surrender their ID while they go get cash? Chris is the best Barber in Puyallup!! My first experience with him was when my oldest son wanted a star design on the side of his head. So, I called many different Baber's (in Puyallup), asking them if they do clipper designs and they all said "no". I was kinda shocked, but kept calling. I finally got a hold of Chris and he was the FIRST Barber to say "yes he can do clipper designs" , so we made an appt and brought in the outline of the star for him. He gave my son the nicest looking clipper cut I've seen! Plus, my son also got the star design! Today, we brought my middle son to get a mullet. (My son is in 8th grade now, and yes, mullets are cool again.) Showed Chris a picture of what he's going for. And once again, Chris did a very nice, handsome cut. Took my son in for a cut and was told it would be $40 initially. When he saw his hair (it had been bleached and had knots in that part) said it would be a little more. I said no problem. He started to work out the knots and I told him he didn't have to, we wanted to get rid of the blonde all together. So he just cut it off. In the end he charged me $80... I thought it was excessive, but what do I do at that point? It was a good cut.... Not $80 good, but good. I went to pay and he told me cash only. I called and made the appointment, never once was I told cash only. This sends up red flags. I didn't have that cash on me. Then tells me there is a gas station with a cash machine nearby... he wanted me to leave my 12 year old son there and told me I could walk to the gas station and take cash out. I was heavily pregnant at the time. I felt like I was taken advantage of and found this incredibly unprofessional and creepy as hell. Absolutely never again. read more

This barber shop has to be best that I found in this area. I was traveling from Los Angeles, and needed a clean up and my beard worked on bad before my cousins wedding that night. Right when I arrived I didn't have to wait at all since one of the guys cleaned up his work station and sat me down right away. I wish I got his name but I have to give it up to the Asian guy cutting because he took his time, and from my experience with cuts, I could tell he knew what he was doing. It was a unique experience and would recommend that place for as long has he's working there! I recommended that shop and barber to my uncle, and cousins to try out. We were going to have hair cuts done for both of our sons. We arrived at 5:00 pm and there were 2 customers ahead of us. The time is now 8:00 pm and only our oldest son got a hair cut. I cancelled the hair cut for our youngest son because it is already way past dinner time and the hair cut for our oldest son is ridiculous, they did a bowl cut on him. The sign says they charge $ 25.00 & up for a hair cut. I got charged $ 60.00 to get a bowl cut for our oldest son, he looks like the one guy from the 3 Stooges. When I gave the guy $ 60.00 he is even angry I did not give a tip and he already charged me $ 35.00 more than the posted price. This barber shop is the best Chris takes his time to get my sons hair line just perfect & you can tell he loves what he does & enjoys doing it. Chris is by far the best barber. He is very laid back and very nice to my son. That makes a big difference to me. We use to go to a barbershop down the street from where we live but it seems like they are getting lazy with cutting my sons hair the way I like it. A friend referred me to this shop and I've been going there ever sense!!!! Also what I like is that they are open 7 days a week & SUNDAYS that works perfect for me!! This place has no service. There was only two barbers and one of them was only doing appointments and just waiting for them to show up while on the phone. The other one was taking 50 minutes a haircut and the haircut he was working on was basic maybe should have took 15 minutes at most but instead took 50 minutes. This review is tricky for me, the older lady who cut my hair was talented, I got compliments on my hair cut, but it wasn't what I wanted, therefor I was not overly happy. Obviously could've been worse but I'll just let it grow out so I can get it back to the style I like, not her preference. But for her work I would've given a 4 star because she was nice and as I said, I did get compliments on my cut. The reason for the 3 star however, is because the owner was cutting hair in the chair next to me, and the lady cutting my hair mentioned to him that he should buy a bag of candy at Costco for the screaming toddlers who aren't quite used to getting their hair cut, like the kid before me. Sounds reasonable, but he said he can't afford it and told her to buy it herself. They then kind of bickered back and forth as to who's responsible for keeping kids happy. Bottom line, the owner is CHEAP, and the lady was right. Don't act like you don't make enough money for candy, and don't act like it won't help a little kid. For this I give a 3 star and will continue to drive up to Seattle and pay more for the same cut, simply because I don't support cheap business, or arguing with an employee about something so simple, especially in front of your customers. read more

Pretty nice place. The barbers were nice. A nice Asian lady cut my hair. However, I had waited a while to get a haircut because I was skeptic of going to a new place after moving to Puyallup. The lady stated that my hair was too long and hard to cut so she said she was charging me $20 dollars instead of $15. Mind you, my hair was not that long. Master cuts charges $18. I have never before been penalized for having medium long hair. I asked about the "new client special" sign they had on the window. The lady had no knowledge of there even being a sign on the window. She then told me the previous owners had it up. At least take the sign down? Also, if your cut is not going to be $15, then maybe have a sign outside that says, $15 men's cut, $20 specialty cut or something? After receiving a sub-par fade, I came to realize they don't take card. Again, no sign that states CASH ONLY. I'm sure under different circumstances I would've had a better experience. My two-year-old is blessed with crazy mixed hair that's coarse in some areas, fine in others, with a weird hairline (sorry son). I took him to a kids place down the street and paid twice the amount I paid here and wasn't satisfied with the results so I looked up barbershops on Yelp and this place came up. The gentlemen (I didn't get his name) was very patient with my squirmy baby who was scared at first, giggly after that, and impatient/tired of sitting still towards the end. I called to make an appointment for my son for noon after informing them that I had another engagement close by at 1:00 and asked if this would be enough time. They said yes and put me on the books and told me to come in. Got there at 11:45 and waited until 12:05 when the Barber approached me and told me that he would not cut my sons hair because it would take too long. It was a total cop out he just didn't want to cut a child's hair. If you are bringing your son in for a cut DO NOT come to this barber!
