Verbally abusive to customers AFTER you pay the requested fare. Do not use him! Didn't like tip for company he owns..instead of setting a rate acceptable he sets an acceptable tip in his mind and beraeates customers who don't pay it. read more

I needed a ride to the airport for a 6am flight, and didn't want to risk Uber or Lyft being available, so called Dennis a few days in advance to make a reservation. He was courteous, was easy to schedule with, we reconfirmed the night before, and he called when he was about 10 minutes away on the day of pick-up. Smooth, easy ride in an ultra clean car. And very reasonable rate -- esp given that it was for an extremely early pick-up and gave me peace-of-mind. You will be in EXCELLENT hands with Five Star Taxi. HIGHLY recommend! read more

Why can't Uber or Lyft be like this!? Coming from San Francisco where I was used to the subpar service that comes with ride-sharing apps, I was hesitant because this was the first time in my adult life when I had to order a taxi. I called well in advance to schedule a pickup from South Wedge to ROC, gave the owner my address and contact information and it was done. I wasn't even sure if he was able to get all that information down or heard it clearly, but he did! He has a system and has everything under control to deliver the best service possible. He actually arrived early to pick me up which was perfect. Great friendly conversation, clean van, it was aptly timed. He is pretty much a one-man show assisted by one other driver, so definitely call in advance; don't be surprised however if he's already booked up though. It was my first time in Rochester and he was very helpful in giving me instructions and tips on how to navigate the airport. Give this guy your business knowing you'll be in good hands. Used this to get from hotel to airport. Driver was courteous, on time, gave a lot of information about Rochester and events going on in area. Cab was extremely clean and OMG this had to be the best smelling cab I have ever been in. I have business card ready for when I return to area. read more

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS TAXI SERVICE! Reason for 1 star: Car is clean and does not smell like smoke. Reason for bad review: Driver was very nasty, and was talking sh*t about college students the whole way there! Also the driver was texting while he was driving! The driver was an awful driver to begin with: speeding, not being cautious. I will never use this taxi service again! If you want nice drivers, and good service, I recommend apple transportation, otherwise, use another source of transportation. Horrible! Absolutely superb service. I was nervous because I was using the taxi to get to the airport. He showed up EARLY and the taxi was spotless. When I figured out that I'd forgotten my phone at home, the driver turned around and got me back home to get the phone and to the airport without batting an eye. Called this company 12 hours prior to my morning trip to the airport. First they said that a cutoff is 4:30am, so I need to order a car for 4:15am. I was fine with it, then they took forever to write down all the details. 4 hours after they called me back saying that the car broke down and they won't be able to pick me up. I had a driver pick me up in Rolling Meadows Sunday like around 2am, I failed to get his name. I had a situation and had him wait for me while he wasn't even sure that I was taking the cab or not. He did not give me attitude and our conversation when I did get in the cab after a few minutes was pleasant. He was very helpful and caring. The owner is a really nice guy. His taxis always arrive on time and the vehicles are always clean. No hassle. Just a friendly ride to where you are going. Once on my way to the airport, I forgot to leave something at my pick-up location. The owner/driver was nice enough to go back to drop it off for me because I was about to get on a plane. The driver was prompt, polite, efficient and knew not just the route but also a short bypass around construction.

The only positives of this ride were the clean car and the on-time arrival. The rest of the ride was a shit show. The driver would watch football on his phone while driving on the highway, causing him to drift in and out of lanes narrowly avoiding accidents. He would fish around for his other cell phone to answer calls, again causing him to nearly lose control and almost fly into another lane. When he wasn't glancing at his phone to see the latest Green Bay play, he was going nearly twice the speed limit at times, weaving in and out of lanes making very close calls with the cars around us. At one point our driver had to slam on the breaks, as he hadn't looked both ways for long enough before deciding to turn right, being a couple feet away from being T-boned. The only reason I even made a Yelp account was to write this review. Being friendly and on-time doesn't matter when the driving causes your passengers to make peace with their god. read more

We never write reviews, but this time we just had to do it. After having so many disappointing experiences with various taxis in the area, we were hesitant to try another, but we had no choice. Fortunately, we found Five Star Taxi! Everything was as promised. We called very late/early in the morning and they answered (unlike others in the past). The driver, Dennis, called 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time to verify (as they said they would). The minivan was clean and smoke-free as advertised. And Dennis was very nice and extremely professional. Maybe we will use taxis more often now! We will definitely be using Five Star in the future and we will recommend them to everyone we know. read more

Five star taxi is no star taxi. Number one, they didn't show up. When I called them, he started to scream and yell at me. I asked him why didn't they show up and he says he overslept. I asked them who is going to cover my expenses over the plane I missed. This guy doesn't worry about his business and he has a nice advertising on the internet but inside is empty. I wouldn't recommend this to anybody. This company is a BS company. read more
