The day before the cleaning I received an email saying the time had been unilaterally changed by 2 hours which caused a scheduling issue on my end. Apparently a previous plumber had used a flexible hose that was too short and it kinked. I was communicated with through the whole process and was thrilled that they could come out so soon. I was in the market for a cleaner and struck up a conversation, probably starting with some scintillating small talk and a few zingers to establish rapport. Later on I called him up, he came over to my apartment and checked the place out so he could give me an accurate quote. He was honest, fair, and an excellent and fast communicator. I got a spring clean, which is pretty much the whole place minus little things like the oven, but who needs that cleaned anyway, right? You're just gonna mess it up again with sweet brisket juice or something. He smiled and told me to trust him. I did. And man, did he do an awesome job. The entire place was sparkling, top to bottom. He really went over and above, and is a guy that takes pride in his work. He's my main man whenever I need a clean from now on. He works locally around the North Shore, but I think he also goes farther afield.

When we first moved in, our neighbours said, "You'll never beat the leaves. You live in a jungle, learn to love it." I still try ... but they're right. In a further attempt to keep the place neat and tidy, we secured Sydney Tile & Stone Care to wash and seal the travertine and sandstone paving on our deck and around the house. It looked fantastic for about a month, pretty good for a couple of months, and back to normal after six. Having left a set of steps untouched, though, we do know how much worse it would have been without the effort! Syd turns up on time, operates independently, loves a chat, and charges a reasonable rate. Use him, but don't expect permanent miracles.
