It is in your best interest to take photos of every little bit of the house during the move-in inspection. Otherwise, they will attempt to pin you with EVERY thing in the house. Our move-in photos helped us exponentially. You have in-home inspections every six months. You don't have to be present and you won't get any valuable feedback. It is mostly just to ensure the rental is not destroyed. Otherwise, communication between the property manager and you is minimal.
