The SLU location has ongoing service issues. Staff often seem distracted, sometimes even intoxicated or drinking on the job, and more focused on eating than providing customer service. When the food is consistent, it's very good, but the inconsistency is noticeable. Another challenge is the lack of clarity around service style. Sometimes customers are expected to order at the counter, and other times staff come to the table -- it often seems to depend on which friendship groups are coming in or who the staff choose to focus on. As a guest, it's confusing to know what to expect. The owner also frequently appears distracted and in a very grumpy mood. I have seen him snap at customers and argue with staff in front of guests, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. I have experienced him in a good mood only occasionally; more often, he seems visibly frustrated. Looking for a late night meal and went to two places that were supposed to be open but were closed and locked, which led to this taco truck. I was surprisingly pleased as the reviews initially made me hesitant. The prices are the main problem here as each taco is $3, so they're relatively high. However, they do have a lot more meat options (6 total options) including beef lengua (tongue) compared to the cheaper tacos that focus on 3-4 classic meats. Got a few tacos and a quesadilla. Meats were all very good but what separates this place from a lot of others is the tortillas. They're fried in grease so they're more greasy, but the best part is the crisp crunch that comes along with the tortilla. This is the case for both tacos and quesadillas, probably including everything else as well. The crispy outer layer of a shell enhances the entire taste. The additional grease also helps, but maybe it's a bit too greasy. I really enjoyed the quesadilla but I'm not sure if I'd justify the $12 price point. Four pieces of a semicircle that are perfectly crispy, cheesy, and greasy along with a generous amount of sour cream and some lettuce, the quesadilla felt pretty well made. It took quite a bit longer than the tacos which is to be expected, but the end result was delicious with stringy cheese as I pulled each piece apart. Again, the price point was the drawback here as I can get more quesadilla for less at other places, so then there's a matter of quantity versus quality which is an argument dependent on the day. Overall a great stop for late night tacos or other Mexican foods whether it's for a late night snack or a meal. When you're craving some munchies, you just want to eat but the greasiness here can be beneficial as well as the fact that each layer of the foods (tortilla, meat, cheese if applicable, etc) are made with care and consideration. read more

Sorry to say, I cannot recommend this food truck. In a city full of exceptional options this was disappointing. I ordered the veggie quesadilla. $12 + tax. A regular size taco with a couple of slices of zucchini. The owner didn't take time to melt the cheese or even heat it up. The cheese was pretty tasteless and was the finely shredded kind you see in low-end store-bought. A touch of salsa, with no flavor and a tablespoon of sour cream. Fast, Cheap & Furiously Good. What started as a starved late-night snack became one of my favorite things. One night sometime after midnight, I was out with a group of friends for some late night drinks. As usual, we got hungry, but by that time, the kitchen at Brouwer's (where we were drinking) was closed, so we had to look elsewhere - the small Flair taco truck just up the street was the easiest answer, and who doesn't like tacos? First impression looking at the menu: 1) Wow that's cheap! and 2) Dang, that's a lot of choices. For under $10, I was able to snag 4 tacos. They're that "street taco" style you'd expect from a good taco truck - couple small corn tortillas filled with your choice of meat, diced onions, cilantro, and the raddish. And Flair piled on a generous amount of meat. In minutes and for less than the price of most cocktails, I was staring at a plateful of juicy, delicious smelling chicken tacos. One bite and I was in heaven. The chicken was incredibly juicy and seasoned to perfection, the meat to tortilla ratio was golden, and I felt better than if I had just downed a slice of pizza. Since that first glorious night, Flair has become one of my favorite taco spots. I've now had their chicken, beef, and lengua (tongue) tacos, and surprisingly, the lengua probably just edged chicken out as my favorite! Other than the name, this taco truck has nothing else in common with the 16 time world champion and hall of fame professional wrestler although their tacos are good enough to figure four leg lock most of their competitors into submission so I guess they have that going for them. Seriously, if there was a championship belt for tacos in Fremont, these guys would be holding it up high for all to see. The tacos are cheap and delicious which is about all you can ask for from a taco truck and I can't seem to keep from stopping by whenever I am in the neighborhood. I have yet to try any of their other menu items although I have seen a lot of people order tortas and the burritos look pretty massive when handed out so I can only imagine all the deliciousness going on underneath that foil wrapper. First, full day in Seattle and I am ready to hit the town. It was such a pretty day, blue skies and the weather was warm (is this really the Seattle I have heard so much about?) Sitting at my aunt's house, we cousins were put in charge of figuring out lunch. Cousin 1: Let's get tacos. Cousin 2: Yeah, let's get tacos. Cousin 3 (me): (Looking on the yelp app) sure, tacos sound good. After realizing that I had not bookmarked a taco joint, I left it up to my cousin is to pick a place. Cousin 1 shouted lets go to the taco truck (which my aunt from LA looked at him sheepishly, she HATES food trucks period). Everyone else in the family seemed to like that idea. So off we went into the minivan (yes, I said it a freaking minivan! Can someone please pass me a drink! lol) It did not take us to long until we were in a parking lot looking at a taco truck with a small line of people waiting to order. Parking is tricky due to the lot being on the smaller side. Menu is simple, and the prices are not bad either (just make sure to bring cash because the truck does not accept any cards what so ever!) We all decided to order: - 18 tacos (pollo, pastor, asada, and carnitas) - Corn tortilla, cilantro, onions, and salsa. - 1 Mexican hot dog (my lunch) -Grilled bacon wrapped beef sausage, pimento cream cheese - 1 large Horchata - 3 waters -4 sodas The trucks owner was friendly and at times, I could tell a little overwhelmed with that large of an order. However, with the help of his cook, he was able to get our tacos and hot dog out pretty fast (around 10minutes or so). There are no tables or chairs to sit on. So we just stood around the parking lot enjoying our lunch. The carnitas taco was good. The meat was tender and juicy. There was tons of onions and cilantro which I do not really like, the salsa was pretty mild but mixed well with the flavors of the meat. Mexican hot dog was plump the pimento cream cheese was definitely different but gave the dog a spicy yet messy kick! Only beef I had was there was not enough bacon wrapped around the dog! I've almost never had a bad taco at a taco truck. In fact, those are always the best: picking up a cheap taco late at night from a truck and devouring it in the parking lot before heading off to the next adventure. Flair Taco pretty much lives up to that scenario, but the taco wasn't as good as some I've had. First, the service was so extremely slow. Their credit card swiping thing was broken and the touch screen on their phone was also working poorly. I was forced to wait like 5 minutes while the cashier was teaching the other person how to make tacos. There is good parking and always a crowd around at night time, even as the weather gets colder and colder -- usually a good sign! The tacos are $2 each, which is cheap but more expensive than other taco trucks in the area. Also, I will mention that all the other options (quesadillas, burritos, tortas, etc) seem to be non-proportionally more expensive compared to the tacos. This makes it hard to try a few tacos and a quesadilla for that cheap price we all hope for. Still I'm not complaining about price here. The meat options are good, and as expected. I went with the pastor, chicken, and beef tongue. The pastor had more of a carnitas texture than the traditional pastor, but it still had lots of flavor. The chicken was super juicy -- like dripping down your hand juicy! The lengua was chewy and tasty as well! There was just something missing. The tacos are a little smaller than I would have liked, but they were reasonably filled. Maybe it was the poor service that spoiled the food, or the fact that I was starving and should have gotten more than three. Pollo - great flavor, a little greasy but still very good. Carnitas - wonderfully crispy, just how I like it. Adobo Pork - what a surprise, usually not that big of a fan but this was amazing. Tacos were sorta small, but for $1.50/piece I can't complain. They came with spicy carrots and jalapenos which were good and a green and red salsa which I didn't use as I wanted to enjoy the meaty goodness. Only complaint was the service was pretty dang slow, only about four people in front of me and took about 15 minutes. My take, "meh, I've experienced better," much better. . The asada was unremarkable, the only flavor was from the oilyness from the grill/asada and the salsa roja that topped the taco. Good flavors...of course, just nothing that should blow your mind. As for the pastor, I'm no strict tradionalist, but this non spit pastor was saucy and needed to be on the skillet a little bit longer, to properly dry onto the pork. Wow. Everybody next to this place (at 2am, but still) was quite wasted. My favorites had to be the two falling over girls in cocktail dresses and heels, and the couple that was making out and groping each other while leaning against the truck and waiting for their food. (I felt like being a bad person and taking a picture when he started groping her mini-skirt-clad butt... but I couldn't bring myself to do it.) So the food. What I got was one tiny taco for $1.50. It was okay, but I've definitely had better. My friend had a burrito that she seemed to be okay with, except that she had to pay 50 cents to replace her sour cream with avocado. Are the price differences really that much for those two things? I think this place has ruined my streak of amazing taco truck food :( read more

Out and about and looking for good authentic Mexican food, I saw this truck multiple times and felt reluctant to try the tacos and my hunch was right. I don't know who the owner is but when I went, I was helped by two white males swearing up and down making for an unprofessional dynamic since I didn't really care for the humor. "You can't argue with f*cking delicious" I just want my asada tacos. Not some "Ass tacos" as said by the employee. In the end, the result was as advertised. "Ass tacos". They were runny, salsa wasn't well blended, meat wasn't very exciting and tortillas felt a little greasy and hard. The runny juice was watery and brown like it came from an ass. The only reason I was reluctant in the past was because I barely ever see any actual Mexicans working and Mexicans eating the food. Being Mexican myself, I can see why. We're picky and us Mexicans enjoy authentic Mexican food. The white people dropping by can enjoy it all they want to feel cultured and get some grub but this Mexican is never coming back and will make sure my friends and family go to some better trucks for quality, flavor and authenticity. read more

Not the best taco truck I've ever eaten from, but not the worst either! There was a vegetarian option for me, but it was juicy and made a mess on the ground. The corn tortillas were fresh and may have been the best part of the taco. The pico de gallo was decent and prep time was maybe a minute. For less than $3, it's hard to not like a quick appetizer while you're waiting a couple of hours for a table to open up at a hot spot nearby. It is conveniently located in the corner parking lot right across from where the Fremont Oktoberfest is held and right on the main drag.
