Delicious Chicha Morada, sooo yummy! Very floral
    Madison D.

Had a great experience at dinner tonight! We were able to find a front row parking spot in the parking lot. Free 90 mins for Flama Llama guests. It is sooo cute inside! Love the garden vibes, they have TVs around the room, and cool music for a fun vibe. We were greeted right away by Gabrieo who ended up being our server for the night. He was great! He made menu recommendations when we asked for help, and was kind and professional. We didn't have to wait too long for our meal. We started with the hamachi Crudo which my fiancé really enjoyed as he was craving some seafood. Normally I love hamachi crudo, but my bite was really fishy when normally yellowtail is pretty mild tasting so it wasn't my favorite. The limey citrus sauce that it comes in is awesome. We lovedddd the mojo pork dish, that was the winner of the night. It comes with a large portion, and a delicious green sauce. We also got the garlic noodles with chicken. The noodles themselves are sooo yummy! They taste almost Italian which is my fave. The chicken was fine, nothing unique. After how flavorful and delicious the pork is, I think the chicken easily could be seasoned up to match the pork's deliciousness. The only other feedback on the garlic noodle dish is it seemed to come with a lot of.. garnish? See the photo. The large slices of onion, tomato, and radish don't seem like something that you'd easily want to eat with the dish? We just ate around it, which didn't make the size of the dish seem that large. Regardless, we shared these 3 items and were totally satisfied and very full. We also got the chicha morada beverage which has my very favorite quality in a drink.. floral! It's so yummy, highly recommend. I got a refill in a to-go cup cause I needed more for later :) Bella helped us out at the end and was also super sweet, helpful, professional, etc all the things you want in a dining experience!

Food 2/5: lomo saltado was way too salty, dripped with oyster sauce. Mine was Talarine Velarde had thin slice of katsu-like meat, kinda dry kinda crazy for a meal that's $20. Should have been $15 instead for the tiny amount food it came with, except for the large portion of pesto pasta which had risotto shape. Pasta or mushed rice? Wasn't sure. Don't get it. Appetizer was the most normal one, tapakay chicken which was like sweet and sour Korean fried chicken. Why is this place Peruvian? Not sure also. Should've been listed as Korean fusion instead. Service 1/5: the guy and the girl there were too busy talking to themselves to see my raised hand for 10 mins in the midst of a not busy Sunday around 7pm. Ambiance 5/5; only positive here unfortunately. But not there to eat decor am I? Not recommend, fake yelp stars and reviews. Def not 4.7/5.

Decor was a vibe. Lots of plants, llamas, and vivid colors. We ordered lomo saltado, ropa vieja, hamachi crude, and yucca. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend!

I kept driving past this place and finally stopped in. Super cute decor. Lots of llamas and plants. We got the fried yucca to share. I got the chicha morada and mojo pork. The meat was so tender and delightfully salty. I will definitely be going back for more Peruvian food!

Garlic noodles with added shrimp. $13.50 + $9

This is such a cute restaurant, but we found the food disappointing. We ordered: - Lomo saltado, $22.50. The menu said it would come with either regular or wedge fries. Since the server didn't ask my preference, I assumed they would come with regular fries. The dish came with wedge fries, which was not my preference. Lots of onion, radish and green onion -- overwhelming flavors. The rice was amazing at least! - Mojo pork, $18.50, with rice and plantains. Rice was the best part. Pork very salty. Plantains, not my thing. - Garlic noodles with shrimp, $13.50 plus $9 for shrimp. This dish took sooo long to come out, the other dishes were halfway done by the time it came out. They brought the noodles out and 10 minutes later, apologized for the delay and said they would give us free churros. That was a nice touch, but the churros took 15 minutes to come out! Fun atmosphere, pacing was off, but the service was good. The restaurant was fully packed at 7 pm on a Friday night, so other people must enjoy this more than we did!

Starting with sensational sangria and lovely lychee llama.

Sadly they are currently closed. Please call to check if they are open. Always delicious.

Great sd spot for peruvian food! The lomo saltado and garlic noodles were delicious and the space is super cute. They have a patio as well as plenty of seating for both small and large groups. The staff were all extremely friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Inside from the table we're sitting at. Plenty of seating at 5:30 on a Sunday

Great ambience with plants everywhere! Super cute interior. Plenty of seating but probably not ideal for a group of more than 8 or 10. Maybe one area could accommodate 16 or so. Service is great, servers are knowledgeable and friendly. Bummed the pollo à la brasa isn't rotisserie and they only have thigh. It was good but I don't think I'd order it again. The mojo pork however is BOMB! I'd get that again for sure. The yucca and plantains are cooked very well. The rice wasn't anything to write home about. Very plain, even for white rice. Could use some salt maybe? I've really enjoyed plain white rice before but something was missing from this rice. Oh! Don't forget to try the chicha morada. It's sooooooo good! Refreshing and a little sweet but not too sweet.

What a cute, hidden gem! I always pass by this place but never knew what was inside until I was looking for a new spot to try. The Yelp reviews did not disappoint! The interior is so beautiful and it feels like you're dining on a patio surrounded by lots of lush greenery. Plus, the little llama decorations by the entrance are incredibly soft and cute. The staff were wonderful and so helpful with recommending dishes. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! What We Ordered: ROPA VIEJA: The beef cheeks were incredibly flavorful, and the plantains were perfectly cooked. GARLIC NOODLES with Lomo Saltado: So savory and packed with flavor! FRIED YUCCA: Watch out for the chipotle sauce it's got a serious kick, but it's so good I couldn't stop dipping into it! Overall, a fantastic place to dine with great service. Also a bonus for the Convoy area since I found parking right in front!

Me and my friend were in the area and was able to check out Flama Llama and we were so happy we could do so! The inside was so cute and decorated. Abner the manager was super nice and explained the menu to us as it was our first time. Tanya our server was very attentive as well! It was just the two of them running the floor and they were amazing!!! The food was also spectacular, I've never had a pesto pasta like this and the thin Milanese chicken was really good. Abner also provided us a chipotle sauce (which is quite spicy) and a cilantro type sauce which is not spicy, went well with the chicken. The lychee and sangria slushy was also a hit. I can't wait to come back! And OMG we just got the churro dessert thanks to Abner!!!! 10/10 customer service

Flams Llama has figured it out! We loved both dishes we tried. The Lomo Soltado and the Pollo à la Brasa. The food was seasoned beautifully and the salsa verde complimented the food perfectly! The service was good and the restaurant itself was clean and decorated beautifully! This was definitely worth the stop!

Flama Llama is a hidden gem! I love that they keep the menu focused - you can tell they put real care and heart into every dish instead of trying to offer everything. The Crudo (sashimi) was incredibly fresh with the perfect spicy, garlicky kick. We also had the Lomo Saltado with beef and shrimp and the Garlic Noodles with chicken, and both were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Fresh ingredients, unique Peruvian-inspired dishes, and excellent execution. We'll definitely be back!

    Visit April 2026: Lomo Saltado
    Jeff R.

Visit April 2026 This is my second time here but never reviewed after first visit. Shame on me. Came here for lunch on Tax Day 2026. Not sure if that is important but hey its my review, not yours. While the parking lot is completely claustrophobic, there were spots. You get 90 min complimentary parking. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Peruvian inspired items, a lot of colorful faux plants, and of course a fake llama to take a picture with. The place is fairly large with a patio. We were greeted by Nick who led us to our table and gave menu recommendations. I opted to order the "Botanical Chicha Morada" at his suggestion for a non-alcoholic drink. Mind you it was Tax Day and alcohol was TOTALLY calling my name but I was the driver. The drink was refreshing and something you could totally enjoy at poolside on a summer day. It is a concoction of earl grey, ginger, cinnamon, lime juice, green apples, pineapple, and purple corn. Better yet, free refills which on a visit on Tax Day came in handy. The family ended up doubling up our orders, both dishes recommended by Nick. My wife and one daughter both ordered the Ropa Vieja which was kind of like a beef stew using flank meat, bell peppers, and tomato. It came with a side of plantains (ridiculously good), and rice. This was a fantastic dish and probably the one I should have ordered. My other daughter and I ordered the Lomo Saltado, the soy marinated beef stir fry. It comes served over fries and at his suggestion I got the thin fries (more crispy) versus the wedge fries. Comes with a side of rice so carb heaven. I was disappointed in the beef, feeling it was a tad overcooked. We also got a side of garlic noodles which were great. Totally garlicky and al dente. Flama Llama is a return trip for me. *Tangent Note: The Emperor's New Groove is one of the most underrated Disney movies. Sorry, thought of the movie as I was writing.

I have driven through rougher parts of this neighborhood, however this plaza was well kept, and I felt safe during my visit. The inside had bare bones decor with folding chairs and tables for seating. Menu sheets were available in several spots. One side featured breakfast, drinks, and desserts. The other side listed the soups and entrees (beef, chicken, seafood). Although I could not find it on the menu, the man said Lomo Saltado was available which I ordered. I also selected a Causa Rellenade Pollo as an appetizer and a second entree, Aji de Gallina. The couple went to the kitchen to prepare my food while I waited. The promotional photos looked much more polished than what I received in styrofoam takeout containers. The Causa Rellenade Pollo had the most authentic appearance of my items. It was a layered mini casserole folded into a triangular shape. The top and bottom consisted of yellow potato with white chicken meat in the middle. The Lomo Saltado contained white rice on one side and then a stir fry of marinated strips of sirloin with onions, tomatoes, and french fries along the top. The flavor lacked the strong vinegar and soy sauce I have tasted in this dish at other restaurants. The Aji de Gallina was a stew made by sautéing red onion, garlic, and ají amarillo together. Shredded poached chicken meat was then added. The combination was then thickened with cheese or milk. Half of a hard boiled egg garnished the top. This entree had the best taste of the trio because there was a good balance of tartness and savoriness. When it came time to paying my check, the cost was slightly higher than what was posted on the menu. I didn't want to dispute the charges as I felt bad because the owners seemed to be struggling for more patronage. With the mixed experience I had with the food I sampled, I gave a 3.5 star rating for Chimpum Callao Peruvian Restaurant.

AMBIANCE Parking: Liberty Station parking--pretty manageable but can get busy during peak hours. Seating: Shared seating throughout the public market, so it might take a minute to find a table. Vibes: Welcome to Liberty Station! A festive area pretty much throughout the week. Whether its a place to eat, partaking in a event, or just hanging out - this is your spot. The area itself is a lively food hall energy with. It's not a sit-down restaurant vibe, but more of a grab-your-food-and-find-a-seat kind of experience. A lot of options around, but this spot holds its own with bold Peruvian flavors. FOOD / DRINKS Pesto (Tallarinines Verde) Chicken (Recommend) Solid dish. Rich portion - huge piece of chicken and good amount of pasta mixed well with that herb-forward pesto sauce (Tallarinines Verde) - with a more creamy + umami-forward than your usual pesto It's a bit of a fusion take compared to traditional Peruvian dishes, but still flavorful and satisfying. Good portion and definitely filling. Chicha Morada (Recommend) Refreshing and smooth. Slightly sweet with those subtle spice notes (like cinnamon/clove vibes), which makes it a perfect balance to the savory food. A classic Peruvian drink and a must-try if it's your first time. SERVICE Quick and efficient--typical of a market-style setup. You order, grab your food, and go. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, delicious food, and steady vibes. Good spot for casual Peruvian food while exploring Liberty Station. It leans more quick-service + accessible rather than a full sit-down experience, but the flavors still come through. The chicha morada is a must, and the pesto chicken is a solid pick if you want something filling. Best wishes to Chefs - Fredy, Tony, and the rest of the Latin Chef team! So ask for app before ordering and maybe that's how you can get points. Anyways just wanted to add that. Now for my review: When I say I crave this chicken sandwich... I know many places have chicken sandwiches, sure, but THIS place has THE chicken sandwich!!!! I highly recommend asking if you can add sweet potato to your chicken sandwich. They did mine for 50¢. The sandwich is delicious as is but adding that sweet potato.... Ridiculously delicious!!!!! I did a little dance in my chair after each bite. Seriously. Happily went to do my taxes knowing this place was near and I could finally get this sandwich again. Trust. It's not JUST a sandwich, the bread is fresh! Airy and crunchy and great on its own. The chicken in the US just is not good, but these ladies cooked it and shredded it and added Peruvian Mayo (which is better) and yummy tiny crispy potatoes (fries) and it's just oh so good. My husband's cousin makes these sandwiches in Peru and his was best I'd tasted but his bread isnt made in house, and his restaurant is alllllll the way in Peru. Peruvian Spot is right here!!!! Yay! Sad they aren't open on Mondays but every one needs a time off, so understandably. Bummer all the Peruvian restaurants choose Mondays to take off. Anyways seriously I'll come here JUST for the chicken sandwich. Kids got Salchipapas and enjoyed them. Hubby got lomo saltado on tallarines verdes. Not a lot of lomo salado but I tried it and the pasta was yummy on its own. The steak was prepared nicely. Hubby adding a few fries from kids Salchipapas and that made the dish take off. Meaning it was even better. Usually when one gets lomo salado with pasta then fries are omitted so that's normal but trust, ask for a side order of fries and add them. Takes it up a level. Their ice cream is great but they were out. Well makes sense cause it's really delectable. Try it when they have more. Passion fruit drink was yummy. I get the heathy drink, I think it's the barley one. Soooo goooood. I wish I got more for the price, but it's like coffee cup amount. I still get it each time cause it's very tasty. Price point is painful. That's kinda how it is everywhere unfortunately. I noticed menu prices were different on the bill once I got home. Not sure the reasoning. Like a dollar each item. Prices are high everywhere, so if you are gonna pay, get quality items. For me the chicken sandwich is so worth it. Can't do it often, I live far away so that helps with the temptation lol. But yay finished taxes, that's a hurdle so let's celebrate with my craving. Oh and the restaurant is so clean! White n red for Peru! Fun Peruvian decor. Don't leave without popping into the bathroom, I don't take my phone inside bathrooms unless I'm alone, so sorry no photos. But they were intentionally fun in choosing their bathroom decor. Gotta be the BEST Peruvian bathroom easy! They definitely had fun designing their restaurant. And service... they take care of their restaurant and customers. Love the alfajores earrings! So fun!!!!!! Speaking of alfajores, my son got one. I tasted it, yummy. We lived in Acarí so there they make them huge and more flaky. I've yet to find those anywhere. But here they are made the more traditional way. The way I made them. They actually tasted like mine. And I'm picky lol and I approve. I especially like I didn't have to make them lol because it takes time and you gotta work fast when making a lot. I made over 100 for an event for free so I'm burned out. Nice to know where I can get them. Heads up, they are over $3 for one or $9 for 12. Didn't realize that price difference so go for the 12. These ladies seem to enjoy their restaurant and several repeat customers came in. Oh and they have a play area. My kids are older but this place is kid friendly! So bring the whole fam. Well until next Dr visit down this way, I guess I'll have to deal with my craving with patience. Oh as them to half your sandwich. They are huge. I forgot to ask and ate the whole thing lol. Well hubby had a few bites. But I was sooooo full. My own fault. lol. I usually have them half it so I have half then and the other for dinner. So full today I skipped dinner, seriously. So yes it's expensive but think of it as two meals.

Apparently the calamari was dusted with sesame seeds, and I didn't think to disclose this at Peruvian... but this is where the waiter checked on me and was wonderful as I was going through this. I bought a pack of carne empanadas and enjoyed those later at home. I'll definitely be back, just no calamari next time!

The space is small and intimate and I think it would be a nice place for a casual date! We were seated quickly and the server was really great throughout the whole meal and very knowledgeable about the food. I appreciated that he let us know about the specials without us needing to ask. We started off with some drinks. I got a red wine sangria and it was good but I did find it to taste a bit watered down but it wasn't a huge deal! We also got a carne empanada and the flavor was to die for. The beef and onion was so delicious and savory. It was juicy inside but the outside was crispy and dry not soggy at all. The portion size was fairly large as well. We also got the yuca frites. They were good. Crispy but still nice and starchy and filling. Not my favorite dish but only because of personal preference and not because they didn't do it well! Lastly we ended with the pork shank special they had for the night. It was absolutely amazing. The meat just fell off the bone and was so tender. I loved how the mushroom and spinach came with the pork. All of the different parts of the fish came together really well to made it exceptional. It was a hearty and comforting meal and I wish it were on their regular menu! I'm excited to come here again in the future to try more dishes.
