Flame Broiler - Yummy! - Korean Near Me - Laguna Niguel, California

I've eaten at many Flame Broilers, as I can't resist a hearty bowl of chicken and rice. However, last night I ate at this location, and was sadly disappointed by the portion of meat served in my bowl. At my local FB (as well as all the many others that I have frequented), the meat-portions are always generous to where the meat is well above the rim of the bowl. I always leave satisfied after an FB chicken bowl. Not this time. The meat was very sparse and below the rim. There was space between the meat chunks where you could see veggies/rice between. In fact, I would say that there was less meat than what is typically served in a mini-bowl. What made it worse was watching the Flame Broiler employee on her break eating a bowl with meat piled high and overflowing from her bowl... the way mine should have been portioned. To her credit, she wasn't the one that prepared my meal. Maybe if it had been her, she would have prepared mine the way she likes it. For just a few pennies shy of $7.00 (regular bowl only -- no drink), I feel that I should have left with my appetite satiated. Instead, I left hungry and had to eat again when I got home. I tried Flame Broiler for the first time last week. After my first bite, I was planning my next visit! I've been back twice. The food is hot & delicious, the store is clean & bright and the staff are always friendly & helpful! I wish I could get coupons since it's kind of expensive. I would eat there every day if the price was a bit better! A large drink, a Half & Half bowl and a $1.00 tip is $10.50. They don't have gift cards - boo! My original reason for going was to buy a friend a gift card but was bummed to find out they don't sell them. Also HATE the plastic bowls they use. Wish they would find some eco-friendly options. This was 10/09/2020 around 5:00 pm. My mother is an immunocompromised, cancer patient receiving chemo. She was craving something healthy so I took her to this place. It takes a lot of effort for her to walk but with her cane she made the effort. We get there, and stop on the doorway because, the cashier, a man, talking on his phone, on speaker phone, was without a mask. We asked him if he could wear the mask. He looks at us, stares and says "ok?". We said no worries and walked out. There were so many wrong things in this incident. I have been in the customer service industry for many years, and first of all you should never be on your phone in front of customers. Secondly, when you see a customer walk in you make eye contact and you greet. Thirdly, this man not only was not wearing a mask, but he dismissed our request as if we were asking something out of the ordinary. There was no consideration or respect from this person. Disappointed. I was a regular here, but after today's visit (last chance) I was still let down. First of all the employees are nice people and have never had a problem with their customer service. However, the quality of their chicken has gone down drastically. Borderline inedible. Super tough meat feels very old with only a few bits of fresh pieces. Veggies weren't boiled like in other flame broiler locations, making them taste raw. It's a bit of a drive but I recommend the flame broiler in San Juan Capistrano, off Del Opisbo street. That location is 5 stars and 100% worth it! read more

I used to eat here a couple times a week or more. Got a new cashier, she apparently doesn't speak English. Ask for white rice and you get brown rice. Ask for no vegetables and you get vegetables. This flame broiler is so slow!!! I'm sitting here with my husband waiting for a mini bowl and a chicken plate and I have time to write this review. I go to another flame broiler location and they have the orders out very quickly. Not here! They finally brought the food out and said "sorry for the wait" What were we waiting for? Don't eat here! Let me start by saying no one washes their hands. The cook was sweeping the floor and went directly to preparing my food with the assistance of the cashier that took my money. Both people were handling my food. The cashier scooped the rice and the cook prepared the rest. She placed dried up pieces of meat on my plate. By the way this meat was sitting on the grill while she was sweeping. When I brought this to their attention their response was "We didn't touch the food". Health department visit is needed. This place needs to train their employees to be better at handling customer service. As I was placing my orders, I was being asked about choices on the place selection I've chosen. When the total came at the end, I asked the cashier why was the price higher than what's on the menu. He said that it's extra charge for the option I've chosen.
