I work near this place, so I get lunch here somewhat often. It's a darn good burger and the prices are pretty decent too. I always find it funny that the most hyped burger places in Fresno usually have a mediocre burger covered in crazy toppings and that impresses everybody. But flame it is one of the rare places that just makes a really good burger and doesn't need any gimmicky toppings to hide it. Their fries are really well seasoned too, you only need ketchup if you really want it. We usually call in our order and it's ready to be picked up in 10 minutes. This place located on the corner of Chestnut and Ashlan, is conveniently located near the nail salon I patronize. So I was starving before I got to my appointment and decided to pop in here on recommendation by my manicurist. I was going to order the spicy chicken sandwich because that comes highly recommended. Then I noticed... Pastrami sandwich! I hunt for pastrami sandwiches all over the central valley. I had no idea that one was lurking here at flame burgers. Ha ha I had to give it a try. They have a huge play area with slides and climbing places for children, which is really great. The interior is decorated in a lovely fresh fashion with red and white tiling everywhere. It was very clean and very easy to order. The menu is straightforward and sports a number of burgers, chicken sandwiches, a few salads, and of course, my pastrami sandwich. I ordered my sandwich and sat down to wait as I was taking it to go. It was provided promptly. The pastrami was hot and juicy. There were little crispy bits on the corners just the way I like it. Decided to check them out because I saw they had an indoor play area. There is nothing special about their food. My chicken nuggets were so hard, my toddler was struggling eating them. Was disappointed in how filthy the dinning area within the play area was. You can tell the floor, play area, windows, etc have not been cleaned in a while. I don't think they have any AC in the play area and dining area within that space as it felt considerably warm compared to the main dining area. read more

There's no ketchup on these burgers. So if you like ketchup on your burger, make sure to ask for ketchup. Fries were seasoned good and cooked great. My little one ate all the fries. RIP OFF!!! I wanted to like this place as I've only been twice. The first time it was pretty good. I love pastrami and had the pastrami burger and it was pretty good. However, tonight we spent over $35 for 2 people. The pastrami sandwich barely has any meat on it! If you look at the yelp postings, previously, you could actually see pastrami. I called them up and the woman didn't really seem to care. They said they "measure out" their pastrami which is kind of pathetic. She said there was nothing they can do about it. Talk about customer service? I will never come back here again. They didn't even try or want me to send a picture. Check out the difference. The interior reminded me of something from my childhood: bright red and white on the walls, simple hamburgers, crinkle cut fries, and delicious soft serve ice cream. What I love most about this place is consistency. It's not the most incredible burger I've ever had, but it's a very consistent burger with incredibly kind workers. Every time I've been there, I've had a good conversation with at least one of the workers. Hubs brought me in tonight on a whim. We both got the #2 for just over $17.The staff were friendly. Hubs was particularly happy that they offer Pepsi products. I travel life with my service dog Bailey. This place gets 4 paws high up!! No access issues, floors are clean and bonus, the tables don't have the dreaded "Leg" issue. The food came out in a reasonable time frame. I was worried cause the crinkle cut fries looked a bit dark. But, they were delicious. The burger was seasoned nicely. I'm excited they offer a veggie option, the garden burger. We get our burgers with grilled onions. The burgers usually come with shredded lettuce, pickles, and tomato.
