There are so many flames, so I thought how bad it could be. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't like the other smaller Jamaican spots I've been to. The patty was pasty, and the frozen ones from the store tasted better. The ox tail was tough, I'm used to it falling off the bone. I've never cooked Ox Tail and would never know how, so maybe I'm over judging. The atmosphere and customer service are unmatched. The food was delicious and the perfect amount to eat. I got the Jerk Chicken and it was excellent. I had to lick my fingers many times because it tasted so so good. I enjoyed my experience at this flames location. I have frequented the one in Dorchester, but the Brockton location is closer to me now and has parking. I actually went on a venture for some Haitian food, but there was an hour wait so I opted to try another local Caribbean location. I was apprehensive at first because I like to stick to what I know and I can imagine all locations are not created equally. Anyway, I sat in my car contemplating until I saw four people walk in, with no assimilation, and thought, "this place must be good!" I hopped out and stood in a now growing line. While waiting they played some mix of music, which I currently don't listen to but it was on the screen and I couldn't help but enjoy it! It took me back to my college years when I listened to secular music. Thanks for that Flames! While in line I watched to see what others ordered and what I mostly saw were the chicken wings, stewed chicken, and oxtails. None of which I wanted since I'm trying to go pescatarian again. I decided to try the curry shrimp with yellow rice, vegetables, and plantains. Of course I asked for gravy. The ladies were very pleasant and served with a smile. When I got home....it was over! The rice was the right texture, look, and flavor. The curry shrimp was flavorful and it came with onions, peppers, and gravy. The vegetables were steamed and the plantains were perfectly cooked. This flames location like all flames locations is whack. They used too much brown in and too much sugar in their oxtails and ketchup where dey do dat at ‍ the curry goat is OK the rice and peas is OK shrimp over cooked the staff is very nice but the food is not Save your money do not purchase any oxtails from this place the best thing they have are beef Pattie's and beverages P.s. Maaaaannn....this was the best Jamaican food I have had in a long time....used to go to only one and golden crust.....but this place absolutely blew them out the water.....the food was super fresh and tasty.....I ate and couldn't believe my taste buds......keep up the great work....you guys are exactly what Brockton needed read more
