Found this new place on Yelp & decided to get some take out on a cold rainy night. I've grappled with my rating of 3 to 4 stars. The food & ambience was worth the 4 stars but the execution of the food & the slight altercation by an employee had me leaning to the 3. I decided to base it on taste. This is obviously a Mediterranean family restaurant. This was authenticated by the (Greek?) family of 8 in traditional garb, dining. Then by the one irate employee who had a tantrum & shouted in his native tongue as he left. I was the only other patron in the place & had I not already paid & waited 20 minutes for my food I would have left. I ordered the Margarita Pizza & a chicken wrap to go. The pizza came out 12 minutes before my wrap & was placed in a warming oven. By the time I had my order the pie was luke warm. Since they just opened I'll give them another chance to work out any kinks. My pizza had a great tasty brick oven baked crispy crust. The mozzarella was fresh, the Roma tomatoes tasted right off the vine. It was not salty. The garlic was the jarred variety; I'd really prefer fresh chopped. The pizzas are a bit pricey but in line with what others are charging for brick oven pizza. BTW the brick oven looked like it was professionally hand made! The waitstaff was friendly. The menu had some interesting choices of sides, sandwiches & Mediterranean specialties. This place is about a mile down the road from the premium outlets. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I wish I could give 0 stars. It took OVER TWO HOURS to receive our order and we are 1.7 miles away!! The delivery driver and someone from the restaurant called us and we gave extremely clear instructions on how to find our apartment (turn into the complex, turn left, take the first right and we are at the end with a yellow door, white wreath, etc). Other delivery drivers find our apartment with ease. We had to call the restaurant several times with NO ANSWER and when we were finally answered we learned the driver returned with our food and someone else was delivering it. The attached pictures show my calls to the restaurant. At 2:56 I had already been waiting for our order placed at 1:45. That's when I was told a new person was delivering. At 3:33 - I called back and was put on hold for 12 minutes until ANOTHER person called and still couldn't find our apartment. We then waited another 10 minutes for that person to arrive. I waited OVER an HOUR FOR NO PIZZA AND NO RETURN (day 2) So just ordered two large pizzas online tonight for a family gathering and was extremely disappointed. The service was poor, the woman who answered the telephone became very rude when I called (3 time) prior to my pizza being delivered. In addition, it was stated that the pizza was delivered and no one answered the door so they left and as in December 2, 2019. I have not received a call about my return and have even arrived at the establishment on December 1, 2019 to see about my return. The meat was divine, the salad was fresh and tasty. I passed on the pita because of the free slice. The hummus & tzatziki were excellent. Ordered from here, delivery driver doesn't know he job was to deliver to the door of your location. I was nice enough to walk to a location he said he was never came. Then he very rudely told me "so you telling me finding parking getting my orders to other people is my problem" which is it but I didn't even say that. if you order from here make sure you pick up I guess cause they won't deliver to the location your at. My cheesesteak was saggy by the time I got it. Manager was aware of situation didn't even offer a discount or something. I personally own a customer based business as well. We came back to this restaurant on Tuesday night. About our 6th visit. We walked in and it was very hot, both doors open. We decided to eat there anyway as their pizza is really good. We ordered a large salad, garlic knots, a margarita pizza and a classic flatbread. The salad came out first in a small 6 inch bowl- not nearly the size the large used to be. The waitress even confirmed after we ordered that we did want a large one. The classic flatbread has shaved beef on top and I always ask for extra. They tried to tell me it has chicken. The menu clearly states beef and I've had it numerous times. Finally they agreed to add the beef. Both pizzas came out exactly as ordered but no garlic knots. They were knotting them as we were eating our pizzas. Shortly after the knots came we packed up to leave. The thermostat said 92 degrees and with the doors open there were many flies. Not sure if their air can't keep up with the heat from the oven or if they don't use the vent fan. It's a shame because we enjoy this restaurant but may have to find another spot. This restaurant opened up just down the street and I was excited to see they had gluten-free options. I went with the GF americano pizza for pick up on a dreary rainy day just before dinner time. I was told 15-20 mins and walked in just as it came out of the oven. The place is clean and quaint. Employees were friendly and the chef was excited to see if I would like the food. Boy was I glad I went with this place! Normally GF crusts are akin to tasteless cardboard, but this crust was tasty and dare I say airy! Really enjoyed the pizza hot, but did not like it as much cold. Even though GF only comes in a small, it was more than enough for 2 meals. This place is a gem! Small and casual pizza place with an impressive menu selection. The place is very clean and well put together. I've been twice in the past few weeks and the pizza, wings, breadsticks and shawerma have been absolutely delicious and fresh. The service is what really impressed me both times however. They seated us, took our orders and served us as if we were at a fancy 5 star restaurant and every employee we encountered was so warm and accommodating. I even noticed a particularly difficult couple there whining about EVERYTHING and the employees handled it with such grace and generosity, I was blown away. The second time I ate there, we had christina and her daughter as our 2 servers and they were just amazing. I live about 20 minutes away but I plan on being a frequent customer at flamez. read more
