When I wanted to arrange the stay, the current manager, Vanessa, returned my call after leaving many messages, one month later! She had me contact the Reservation desk to make the arrangements. This took 6 phone calls and 3 emails, and when we did arrive, the reception did not have a record of my reservation. The room was poorly maintained, with curtains hanging off the hooks and mold in the shower. The bed cover was so old and ratty, that I did not want to put it on my body. Just to make it all perfectly terrible, when I retrieved my car from the parking lot that the Hotel's guests must use someone had attempted to break in to my car. When I told the front desk about this, they said it was not their responsibility. This hotel suffers from poor management. Even though they blame most problems on their proximity to the ocean, the real truth is that it is simply not maintained or managed properly, and guests don't seem to be appreciated. There are definitely many better hotels in the area for much lower cost.

The correct name of this hotel is Hotel Village Premium, but the moderators will never get around…read moreto fixing this, just like every other correction I have send them for 2 years. This was my first time staying in this hotel and overall, it was definitely positive. We stayed here on Christmas Eve and my only complaint was that the hotel's restaurant and bar were closed on the 24th. I didn't need anything, but a hotel should be prepared to fully function year-round. Now, on to the good stuff. I have stayed in over 50 hotels in this region and the breakfast here (which is included) was the best, most abundant buffet of any of them. In addition to the fresh tropical fruits and juices, there were many savory and sweet offerings. Guests can also get omelets or tapioca made to order. Despite the restaurant being full, service was quick. To make things more fun, the hotel has a robot deliver your order to your table (it had a cat face and meowed at people to let them know they were in its path. The hotel is not on the beach, but is only a short walk (about 3 short blocks) from it. The hotel has a pool, a gym and a spa. If needed, free indoor parking is available to hotel guests. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Our room had a very large veranda, but unfortunately, the hotel did not provide chairs or any other outdoor furniture for the space. Overall, I would definitely consider staying here again and I recommend it as an option while in Joao Pessoa. More like 4 1/2 stars.

Never again. While this hotel is well-located (right in front of the beach in a very nice…read moreneighborhood) and our room was large, that's where the positive points end. We checked in on a Sunday and went up to our room. I turned on the TV and it didn't work, so I picked up the phone and tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work. I could hear her, but she couldn't hear me. So, I went down to the front desk and told her about the 2 items that were not working. Maintenance came up and replaced the phone; then he said he'd have to replace the television too. Since we were only going to be here for one night, I didn't want to waste my time waiting for the maintenance man to dismount the broken TV and install a new one, so we stayed with a broken TV. I don't know why they didn't offer to change our room, but they didn't. Wi-fi did not work in the rooms. I saw many guests sitting in the hallway just to access the signal. My wife wanted to have a coffee before we went out to dinner, so we asked the receptionist if we could get a coffee from room service. She told us that the hotel's kitchen was not open on Sunday, which I thought was absurd. Maybe they should tell people that before they take a booking for a Sunday. We came back from dinner at about 11 PM and there was nobody at the front desk. I was very concerned by this obvious lack of security and how this put its guests at potential risk. We went up to the rooftop seating area before retiring and while there, a hotel employee popped up and said that he had to shut off the lights because it was 11:30. I asked if he could come back in a bit, but he said that he couldn't and turned off the lights! But not just the lights in the rooftop seating area, but also the lights in the hallway leading to the elevator. When we headed down, I had to use the flashlight on my phone just to see where we were walking. Breakfast, which is included, was ok, but still does not make up for the other shortcomings of our stay here.
