The restaurant had a cosy feel, with lots of tables but all with a private feel. Service was friendly, albeit a bit slow. The restaurant was packed that night, and we were not in a hurry, so that was fine with us. Because it was the day after Christmas, we could only eat from a limited and very pricey menu (38 Euro). But we were happy to have found a restaurant that was open, and there were almost no other options. Unfortunately, the food was nothing special. Our starter dishes, crab salad and tomato soup, both tasted prepared, straight from a can, and very blend. Nothing mediterranean about it. Then we could hit the salad bar, which was equally blend, just lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, yoghurt and peppers. It was all fresh, but just very plain. I would have loved some fresh olives or feta, but that was not there. The main dishes consisted of enormous amounts of meat - more than I would eat in a week! They appear to all be pork-based, and were all very salty and dry, but not spiced at all. My dish was flambeed at the table, which was pretty spectacular - I only wish the dishes tasted more spectacular as well. I just found it to be very underwhelming, especially because we paid almost 40 euro for it. I have had much better food for that amount of money. I also regret having to send back so much meat. Definitely not a restaurant for vegetarians, although their regular menu has ONE (yup, just one) meat-less dish.

I went here for dinner on a weeknight and it wasn't that busy. It's a cute little restaurant/bar on…read morethe corner of the street near the Utrecht canal. We ordered 3 dishes and shared: Italian burger, rib eye, and pasta with prawns. The waiter was extremely nice and helped translate everything in English for us since the menus are in Dutch. The portions were big! The Italian burger was juicy and had tons of flavor. The rib eye was enormous and good quality but it needed salt which we added ourselves. The highlight was the pasta. It had tons of shrimp, fresh greens, and the sauce was light and aromatic (amazing olive oil). I definitely recommend coming here while visiting Utrecht. Prices are also very reasonable (we spent under 70 euros for 3 people).

I noticed the price of this dish (6.50 EU) to be more expensive than your typical krocket, so I was thinking this dish would be something different or really good! What I got was really 2 krockets on top of bread with mustard and a small side salad....it wasn't a problem at all...and for that price it was fine. The food was delicious! My dad got a fish sandwich (macreal) w/ a beer. Service was fine and the food for the price was worth it. Definitely a nice place w/ a corner location; great for people watching!
