There are some parts of the South Coast of Australia that seems to draw all of the tourists, and…read morethere are some parts that are just as impressive but seem to not actually be on the tourist trail. This is one of them. The rock formations here are actually pretty impressive, but the thing is that nobody seems to really talk about them. As such, I would consider this to be one of those hidden gems. Also, they have a pretty impressive walking trail around here as well, so that is something that I would also highly recommend.

This is another place that I've been to numerous times, the first being when I was a kid. It's…read morebasically a national park but the thing is that it is located in an extinct volcano (which is probably a good thing, though I would love to see a real live volcano one day). There are a number of walks through the park, including one up to a peak where you can get a good view of the lakes. A narrow road runs through the park, and when I say narrow I mean really, really narrow (and you can only go one way, which is annoying because if you want to stop to take a look around all of the people lined up behind you are going to get really annoyed). There are also animals here, including Koalas, and they can be fairly easy to spot - just look up the gum trees and sooner or later you will discover one. Oh, watch out for the emus - they tend to hang around the picnic area.

This place does bring back a lot of memories, namely because we came down here once as kids for a…read moreholiday. I believe out parents were taking us on a trek along the Great Ocean Road, and this little town was rather quiet, and also pretty much in the centre of everything. The beach - well, it really hasn't changed at all in the years since I have been here. It is still quiet, and relaxing, though of course there isn't much in the way of facilities. Still, it is a great place to get away from the crowds.
