Extraordinary. We were staying about a half an hour away with two other couples, and our host had…read morerecommended this place, set up by Bruce and Julien just a couple years ago. Four of us made the trek for Friday lunch. The setting is so stunning -- though it's off a main(-ish) road, the view from the dining room window makes you feel like you're miles from anywhere, looking out across their fields and a beautiful Provençal valley. The owners greet you and serve you, and they're neither obsequious nor brusque, just friendly and personable. They have a new menu every week (3 entrées, 3 mains, 3 desserts), but for Friday lunch they only have one main dish option, which is, I understand, a rotating aïoli (or perhaps it's the same aïoli every time? At any rate this time it was a very simple fish with freshly steamed or boiled vegetables, and a big bowl of freshly mixed "true aïoli" -- that very garlicky garlic-egg-olive oil emulsion -- for everyone to share). It was tasty and well-made and so simple that I wondered if I need to start giving my taste buds a break and eating more basic vegetables with little or no "treatment". We were all so unanimously enthusiastic about the experience that we reserved to come back that same evening with our whole group. We wanted to try out the full menu and a dessert that apparently never disappears off the menu (it's made in paper with almond and prune and spiced fruit) that smelled wonderful. I wondered if the charm and glow of the place would be lessened the second time, but it absolutely wasn't. Julien is such a kind presence, the food is such a great balance of simple and interesting (my dinner was much closer to the general French aesthetic than my lunch -- a chowder-like fish cassolette starter and a delicious chanterelle risotto), the setting and hosts were once again delightful, and the dessert, well... it was something very special. I recommend anyone make the journey to this great, unique original establishment if you value a complete experience, if you're looking for a romantic dinner or warm night out with friends, or if you just want to try something new.

We loved this place! Stumbled upon it during our trip to Cannes. It's in a corner of a bustling…read morestreet of food options in Cannes. We got the wine, the spaghetti, the cod and lamb. Everything tasted so so fresh here! The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente with the perfect amount of cheese and crispy bacon pieces. The cod was so flakey and came with a bed of fresh vegetables. The lamb was so good and on top of some creamed eggplant. The service was amazing as well. The second we finished the water carafe, and the server already brought us a new one. The servers were so attentive even though this restaurant was sooo busy.

Unfortunately, they seemed ill-prepared.We had a 1:15 PM reservation but weren't seated until 1:45 PM--and only after we grabbed someone's attention and said we were willing to sit outside between two smokers (side note: the smoking culture here is intense). Then it took nearly another 30 minutes to get our food, which we only received after asking where it was.I ordered the truffled pasta. Despite the generous portion of truffles, I couldn't taste any truffle flavor, which was disappointing. We had an hour and a half for lunch but had to rush out to make it back to the conference center in time for our appointment.Perhaps this place is fine during non-peak times, but I'd avoid it when any convention is in town--they clearly can't handle the influx of business.
