I've been going to Charmaine since WAY BACK when she started in the mani/pedi business. For a very long time, she was the only person to touch my feet! Then, she moved away for a couple of years and I was forced to visit a few chop shops to get my toes done... let me tell you, the comparison is ridiculous!! There is absolutely nothing better than a pedicure at Fleur De Lys. I'll never take my fingers or toes to a chop shop again. I'm so glad Charmaine is back. I was looking for a place that would not only get me a great pedi, but would also be a calm, pretty and (on this 90 degree day), a cool environment. I found it! The space is gorgeous - beautifully decorated, bright and lovely. I don't think the pictures here do it justice at all. Trudi gave me one of the best pedicures I've ever had; I was so relaxed when I left and, bonus: pretty toes! It's kind of spendy for a pedicure but since this is a treat for me and I am willing to pay extra not to have to breathe fumes from acrylic nails, or be subjected to blaring TVs or poorly chosen fluorescent lighting, I think it's well worth the price. It's a little difficult to find the first time. Word to the wise: though you can see the salon from Water St, the entrance is at the back of the building, off Taylor and they have two parking spaces in the lot across Taylor from the one at the back. read more

This is hands down my favorite nail salon ever! I come all the way from Gresham to this spot, because they are truly the best! Laura is my favorite nail gal! The salon is always clean, and sanitary. I love that they done have the typical pedicure chairs/tubs. It feels so much cleaner to me that they use copper bowls, and clean them after each pedicure. I wish I hadn't waited so long to come here. I'd lived in PDX for just over 5 years when I finally booked my first appointment. This is my absolute favorite salon and I bring all my friends here when they suggest getting our nails done. Laura is my girl! She's insanely talented at nail art. Being from California originally, I'm all too familiar with chop shop manicures and pedicures; they become the norm, even if you're vaguely uncomfortable with the whole experience. Fleur de Lys is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Beautiful foot soaking tubs, lovely apholstered vintage chairs, and two great gals make this place a real gem. I found this gem of a studio while trying to come up with a fun outing to buy my friend for her birthday. The studio itself is adorable, with a shabby chic vibe and large windows to let in the sunlight. Both of our nail technicians were extremely genuine with their conversational and the experience was so relaxing and comfortable you felt as if you were in your own living room, chatting with friends. I had some pesky, stubborn gel polish on my hands and feet and my nail tech was so patient and careful to ensure that we removed the previous color with minimum damage to my nails. The final product was perfectly manicured fingers and toes for us both and we definitely plan to return to visit this charming salon again! read more

This place is awesome! I work right down the street and just discovered Fleur de Lys. From the moment you walk in, you feel relaxed and know that you're in great hands. They make delicious coffee and Trudi did such a fantastic shellac gel manicure for me. She was fun to chat with and she made the experience really enjoyable. My mom and I have been going to Fleur de Lys for several years after finding them on Best of Citysearch. I was looking for a place that did not have the scary jet tubs (can you say staph infection, yuck). The girls use adorable foot bowls, with warm bubbly water...totally relaxing (and worry free). Going to Fleur de Lys feels like happy hour with your closest girlfriends (they do shake a great cocktail). Even though I live over the bridge in Vancouver I always look forward to the trip to Fleur de Lys. The spacious, yet still cozy and inviting new space is in a great location on Water St. next to Lewis and Clark, across from the new Bunk Bar with great sandwiches and down the street from an adorable brewery. Lovely spot, so happy we found it. My sister and I had pedicures with Kim and Trudi who are both sweet and easy to talk to. The space is a breath of fresh air, especially compared to your average run-of-the-mill nail salon. You don't feel shuffled in and out, and you are treated like a human. We left feeling relaxed! I found it!!! The pedicure of my dreams!! This is the best environment I have ever had my nails done in. It really does feel like hanging out in the living-room of a friend while someone does your nails. The ladies that work here have worked together for 10+ years. It is not a quick turn nameless strip mall shop. Pedi & Mani both had good staying power. The martini in a shaker is added bonus which you just can't get at the strip mall salon. Cost wise it is a bit more than the strip mall salon, but well worth it for a true enjoyable experience. read more

Pedicures must be the thing to get at Fleur de Lys. Lip wax not so much. Location close to my work but to go to an appointment at lunch hour, I need to drive. Oh wait, Fleur de Lys clients don't drive. Despite parking places right in front of the Fleur de Lys storefront and even more behind the building it's housed in, NONE are earmarked for Fleur de Lys. Six open parking spots behind the building are, of course, always full. 10 minute walk each way to and from closest parking. Wax itself? No pressure whatsoever on the wax strip. Feels like no hair is actually removed. But, bet that old dead skin is gone. Right side strip, left side strip, nothing in the middle. But the esthetician was gifted -- she could do it in her sleep. In fact, she did. The website menu says $6 for lip wax. Oh, sorry. It's really $9. We're too busy drinking martinis to change it. This would have been a definite bump up in my quality of life to have a place so close to work. As it is, I'd rather continue going to my usual shop I can only get to on weekends. Ladies, I hope the reviewers posted here are keeping you in business. I wouldn't recommend you to anyone. read more

Lovely spot to get nails done! If you're not familiar with the area (like me) it can be hard to see that parking and the entrance is not on Water St, you have to drive around the building to the "back". But it's in a nice repurposed building with character. The ladies who did our services (MIL, SIL, daughter and I got pedis and manis before a wedding) were all so friendly and did such great jobs. I wanted to experience Fleur de Lys with my bridesmaids for my wedding. I emailed for an appointment one evening and called the next day. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very abrupt, but whatever, I'm sure they were busy. While emailing with Kim, she told me she didn't have the time I needed and offered an alternate time. I had to coordinate with two other girls out of state, and in the mere 4 hours it took me to do that she gave the appointment to someone else! What a joke. She also didn't answer a simple question that I asked in two different emails which was slowing the process down. Seems like they feel so popular that they don't need to take care of everyone. I forecast with the horrendous customer service that it won't be "exclusive" very long. read more
