While I can't say my visit was anything approaching enjoyable, it was exactly what I needed. I'm from out of town and while I called from the road late in the day with a back in serious distress, they found a way to fit me in at 5PM. Michelle diagnosed and went right to work on the problem, and wasn't afraid to inflict pain to end it. Her treatment set me on a better path, and over the course of several days my back improved dramatically. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this practice for helping me in my time of need. Horribly uncomfortable situation!! I scheduled a 90 minute massage a week in advance. A few days before my appt I was called by the receptionist to push my appt back 30 minutes...which was fine by me. On the day of my massage appt I show up and check in. I was asked to fill out a simple form. While doing so my massage therapist walks up to the receptionist counter and says "I didn't know I had a 90 minute massage. Well, this changes my whole day" then walks off in a huff. This takes place 3 feet from where I am sitting. Yikes, how uncomfortable. The massage was just okay. When searching for vendors for a telecommunication company's corporate "WELLNESS" event I reached out to several companies that offer reflexology services. I left several messages and many companies just wouldn't respond. When I reached out to Relaxing Alternatives Wellness Center, the manager, Randy returned my call right away and was able to schedule 2 therapists to come to the office and perform amazing foot reflexology massages on many of the employees. The co-owner/therapist Judy, did an amazing job of demonstrating the pressure points in the feet and expressing the importance of staying balanced. I got so much positive feedback from the employees that the team leader says she will be contacting them again for future wellness events. I didn't get to experience the massage that day but will definitely be contacting them for many of the other services they offer. MICHELLE is a FANTASTIC experienced therapist! I went in this week while visiting from out of town, with neck and hip pain. She brought me such RELIEF! She is strong but very good at varying the pressure. She seemed to know instinctively where my pain was and exactly how to work i it out.. Only an experienced and well trained therapist knows how to do this. I have been getting massages for 15 years in cities all around the country due to travel. I also have a regular therapist back home, who I have gone to for many years. Michelle is definitely one of the best therapists I have ever had. Deborah is an extremely competent, sweet, and professional lady who walked this slightly nervous first-timer through the colon hydrotherapy process. It had the potential to make me feel squeamish, embarrassed, and uncomfortable, but Deborah's friendly and efficient manner made it a much more comfortable process. Their facilities are very clean and pleasant. Not many frills, but it doesn't need them. For the colon hydrotherapy services I've been receiving, they make every possible consideration for the client's comfort and relaxation. I was so terrified in the waiting room that I was actually shaking. Sandra is so sweet and she put me at ease right away. She explained the whole process and made the whole thing seem very ordinary and non frightening. She stepped outside while I undressed and was very careful to keep me covered when not working. Very clean. She used honey wax and strips and still somehow made the whole thing so relatively painless, and this being my first time I was very pleased. She worked quickly and in no time it was over! :) She also gave me some tips on my skin and made product suggestions without attempting to sell them to me as she didn't carry them which was nice. I have been going to have for almost 10 years. They quite recently moved to Frederick road in Gaithersburg, you will have to call and get the new address. Sandra is God sent. The prices are reasonable, but Sandra works with me, and she knows the skin so well, she will tell you exactly what your skin needs, and will give you samples if needed. Sandra will spend time with you and when she's done, you will not want to leave. Puts me to sleep many times. I had such problem skin, and uneven skin tone, and about 10 years ago, I decided I needed regular facials. Well, I am so glad I found relaxing alternative. My skin gets many and many compliments now, and I feel so much better now because I look better and am comfortable now that the uneven tone has disapeared. Looking for a great Brazilian? It's your first time getting a Brazilian? Ask for Sandra! I had been looking into getting a Brazilian for a while but always chickened out due to the horror stories and movies. I did a lot of research and saw Sandra got great reviews on Yelp. Me being a dedicated Yelper and believer I made an appointment with Sandra. I insisted my boyfriend come with me to me some moral support and so it wouldn't be awkward in case it did get awkward. When I first went in it was very clean and relaxing, Sandra introduced herself and as soon as I started talking to her I loved her personality. She made it very easy for me to relax and communicated with me about everything that I needed to do, what she was going to do, and her techniques as well as making sure I was breathing. Sandra said she would do some test strips, if it was too much she wouldn't proceed. She had me lay down on a table/bed put two lights over my hoo-hah, took a towel and covered below so nothing was exposed as well as using the towel as a guideline. When she did the first two test strips, I did not feel anything so it made her go on to proceed to other parts and asked if it hurt. Once she had done my right side, I asked her if the test was done and the three of us began to laugh which made me relax even more. I was also glad to have my boyfriend with me to help keep the conversation going when I became tense. She told me she would make it look very pretty (lol) and she even told me she does her own Brazilians so she knows how she feels when she does it (impressive.) It was all done withing a matter of 30 minutes. I will need to come back sooner than a month since my hair will grow back faster but after the second and third time it won't be as soon. I highly, highly, recommend Sandra. She is professional, knows her stuff, and glad she made my first experience an awesome one. There's nothing like having a bad experience and remembering it forever. The Brazilian came to $60....this is a great price from other places I have seen like $85 at Red Door Salon. I purchased a Groupon for a year of Brazilian waxes here. It was a risk, I know, but the Groupon ended up averaging out to just over $20/wax, which I couldn't argue. I wanted to wait before I wrote the review because...sometimes you discover a couple weeks after a wax that it wasn't as good as you thought. Well, that's not the case here. Sandra is absolutely divine. She makes sure she gets every last hair. TMI, but here goes, if you have issues with ingrown hairs she'll get them and discuss ways in which to decrease, etc. I enjoyed my waxes so much that when I started having issues with acne I started going to her for facials. They were wonderful! Unfortunately they can no longer be a part of my budget, but I wish they could. I would leave the appointment smelling my upper lip because it smelled like smoothie. Not only does she do an excellent job at explaining the process, she also has amazing charts that explain exactly what a colonic does, the benefits of them and the importance of regular cleansing to your overall well-being. I came here for Brazilian waxing a couple times (I had a coupon). I'm not a huge fan of the location, but it's close to where I live. Very nice customer service, but my waxing was okay. Sandra is EXTREMELY friendly, but is a little chatty for me. My waxes weren't very consistent either. I've been there maybe 3 or 4 times, but only once did I notice she took EXTRA care of my lady region... I would have appreciated that care if it were consistent! read more

Sandra for waxing --I had my first ever brazilian wax with her. She was wonderful. Made me feel normal (not awkward) She talked to me about regular things the entire time so it helped take my mind off the pain. The room is small but relaxing. I love the smell. Wash your hands first because she has you rub oil/lotion (whatever you need) all over the area waxed afterwards to soothe. She spoke to me about skin care regimen I should follow and about other svcs. she provides but she wasn't pushy. I have already went back to her after my first time 3 weeks ago. The price for brazilian is $60 but if you buy a pack of 6, its only $210. Bikini wax is only $25. She is a licensed aesthetician!!!! That is what I value. Sure I could pay less some places for a brazilian, but not by someone who is licensed! People who do that in my opinion are risking way too much. I will definitely keep going back to Sandra.
