A healthy music section on the left, a huge selection of films to the right and computer games to be found at the back. I am also a fan of the offers which seem to be on at different times of the year such as 3 DVDs for 15 pound or the good old buy one get one free. On a more miserable note Christmas time is when HMV becomes shopping hell I have seen queues for the checkouts stretch the length of the shop and more and then it makes it hard even to browse. When I first moved to the area the staff were particularly patient and attentive in helping me select the right map for my needs, but were even better at helping me translate what I saw on paper into practice by telling me things to watch out for, the best places to visit, and what they personally liked about the area - in effect, I had the services of a local guide for the price of a map! Can't be bad! Even when I haven't got time to call in and have a good browse, I always enjoy the ever-changing window displays - the Halloween one was particularly good! All in all, a great place.

Not only is there all the traffic from W H Smith, but the poor customers wanting the post office have to struggle to the back. Recipe for a nightmare, The Post Office used to occupy a listed building further down on the High St, much more centrally located. I would rather go to another Post Office than use this!
