Shout out to Demetrius who was very helpful as I selected tile, and then he kindly loaded 16-boxes of heavy wall and floor tile into my car. Honestly, everyone there was friendly and attentive, including the Assistant Manager Brian. I didn't love having to drive to Lombard when there's an F&D a few miles from me but the four tile selections I was leaning towards were all available in Lombard and not any other Chicago-land store. It made sense to go to the location that had the most in-stock options. Ultimately I bought a tile that I didn't come across when I browsed online so it was worth the trip. More options and even better service than the Addison location...at least for me. Again, kudos to Demetrius who actually cared that I found what I needed. read more

Excellent service by Ari @ Floor & Decor location in Lombard, IL, who was very knowledgeable, helpful and nice. I was purchasing flooring, which Ari provided the specs for flooring that most suitable me. Based on footage I have, Ari calculated the # of boxes I would need for one room. Ari recommended the type of floor padding for sound reduction. (Advised on variations of floor padding for residential vs concrete businesses). I'll be back for additional home renovation purchases and will surely look for Ari's help again. This store is stocked with inventory for new homes or renovations. Billy called me Nd basically said that the girl at the front of house that wasn't her personality and he had a hard time believing that is what she said. He said it wasn't company policy to tell people the store was closing soon but maybe the people that the people like "the designer" Dawn that have been there a while thought it was. But again seemed skeptical that she had said anything out of sorts to us. We had a great designer at this location until Dawn Casazza took my designers chair almost deleted everything that we worked on for an hour. Then gets on a speaker call very load and is talking over my designer and me. I think she was actually drunk at work. I asked her polity if she could take the call off of the speaker phone, because I could not hear my designer. I did not want to make any mistakes on my large tile order. She completely ignored me. I asked again, ignored me I asked 3 more times louder each time, then she went off screaming at me like she was drunk. She said I know men like you! You can't tell me what to do and started playing the victim. I said I do not have time for this, I am the customer. She just kept going and going like an insane person. I asked the manager to check the video tapes and he had zero idea what to do. He was ZERO help. This is not acceptable at all. "Karens" can't scream at people then run and say they are the victim. This has to stop. If you see her Dawn Casazza at this store, go to another location ASAP. I almost called the Lombard police department. Someone needs to check the video tapes ASAP. This was at 6:10pm last evening. I am now worried she is going to damage or sabotage our order for our customer. read more

This latest project is the renovation of our bathrooms. I didn't even have a clear vision of what I wanted walking in. When I left, I had a complete vision and color palette. Evelyn walked with me through the whole store and knew exactly what to find when I described something to her, She showed me different options, budgets, we played with design combinations for my tile and inlay accents, Ari was fantastic with what to recommend for niches, trims, and help with grouts. DON'T BUY THERE In February 2020, my friend went to the Lombard store and purchased the recommended "WATERPROOF" NuCORE rigid flooring and the higher end underpayment/floor pad for her lower level family room and bedroom. In April 2020 there was a terrible storm resulting in some seepage into their home. Water sat on parts of the new flooring for approximately 45 minutes. Months later in December 2020 there was a creaking-crackling of the floor. There was also cupping on the supposedly waterproof flooring. After filing a claim to the corporate office, visits to the store and numerous phone calls & emails an inspector (paid by Floor and Decor) finally came to the house and deemed the product not to be the problem. My friend lost thousands of dollars on the material, the initial install and now demolition, new flooring and a new installation. The new flooring was purchased at Home Depot bc Floor and Decor offered no compensation except for a minuscule 5% discount on replacement flooring. Bottom line don't trust them! read more

After seeing quite a selection of backsplashes online, took the trip in the store to purchase in person. After walking around like lost puppies for a little while, my husband and I were confused. Luckily Reanna came up and asked if she could help, and boy did she! I showed her the sample of the quartz we will be getting installed and she immediately led me to the perfect backsplash. Worst experience of my whole renovation. The first three times to the store we had to practically beg for help to get questions answered. Once we finally decided on the backsplash we wanted for our very first renovation we've ever embarked upon, things just got worse. We picked a white marble tile and had a contractor all set up. The job he did was amazing. the tile and grout looked beautiful. The next morning, when it was dry, I noticed that many of my white tiles were yellow! Now, the contractors but aside 6-7 full square feet of tile where that they could see there was variation right off the bat. The yellowed tiles that were "missed" not noticable in the afternoon light but now so noticeable in the daytime. I called Floor and Décor to get advice on how to proceed, being open minded and ready for a fair resolution. How could they argue that this is a clear supplier quality issue? The woman I spoke with told my contractor that it was grout haze. How could it be grout haze when the tiles in the wrapper were yellow? She blamed my contractor for not noticing the differences in the tile prior to him putting them up and said there was nothing she could do to help. I called back to speak to a manager, Shawn, who told me the same thing. Then pointed to the fine print on the box saying that "tile may differ in shade and texture." I would expect varying shades of white, but full on yellow is not OK. So basically that small print on the underside of the 15 pound box gets them out of standing by their product. I have to pay for the tile, grout, first installation (obviously), but I didn't count on having to pay for the tear down and reinstallation of their faulty product. I am waiting to hear back from another manager, Brian, about compensation. If he stands by his product by issuing a refund and aid to compensate me for the additional man hours I have to pay for to correct the issue, I will update the review. read more

These people are crooks! I would tell anyone thinking of making a ppurchase from them to run for the hills! We bought laminate flooring from here which turned out to be defective! During installation it was actually snapping and breaking. When we took it back to the store Carlos was the associate who we ended up working with. He actually refused to refund us what we paid for the boxes that had been opened. It was no fault of our own and he just would not yield! It was dishonest, and rude. Thank goodness for Lloyd at the Countryside location who resolved the issue for us. Go visit him and his associates because you'll be treated with kindness and integrity, something Carlos at this location knows nothing about. read more

One word: morons. I have been an excellent customer of Floor and Decor, have spent thousands of dollars at their stores, and their customer service and their attitude is appalling. I ordered thousands of dollars worth of flooring for my house. The inept employee that I talked to to set up this delivery told me that they would deliver between 9-2pm, and that they would call me at least 2 hours ahead. Typical in the industry. Past 11am I called the store because they hadn't even bothered calling. I called the store literally 5 times - talked to two brain dead employees who couldn't even form a sentence and put me on hold without even getting back on the phone. Then a "manager" named "Carlos" who talked like he had no cognitive function in any capacity - and I'm pretty certain is not a manager - told me that "it's an all day delivery" and that they call an hour before. Really Carlos? For those of us with actual JOBS and lives, that wouldn't work would it? I explained to Carlos that this is not what I was told. I even asked him to have the store manager call me - I sure hope to hear from him - and he tells me oh he's not here today. Really Carlos, I'm sure your store manager will be back at some point. It must be hard to let your store manager know that a customer who has spent thousands of dollars at your store has a complaint. Carlos of course didn't see to have the greatest work ethic in the world, and didn't care about their complete and total screw up. Should be ashamed. This level of laziness, poor customer service, and lack luster pathetic attitude towards your inability to carry out a service after a customer has paid thousands of dollars in full shows you don't care about customers. I will be shopping elsewhere. Floor and Decor clearly doesn't care about doing right by its customers and has lazy, pitiful employees - who can't even form a full sentence or think logically. read more

I stopped into F&D last Sunday hoping to find details on an order that my wife placed in 2017...we were in need of some replacement flooring. Maritza noted that the flooring was "manufacturer discontinued", but she began to search F&D inventory at other stores and determined that three of them still had the product in their inventory. Website inventory showed they had 52 boxes of the flooring I was looking for in-stock. Showed up to the store, and they had zero boxes. After unsuccessfully wandering around the store trying to find someone to help me, I waited in the (long and slow) checkout line to finally speak to an employee. The employee was rude, and treated me like I was stupid for thinking their online inventory might be accurate. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I was having a frustratingly bad day and I had 15 minutes to browse Floor and Decor for Vinyl and Laminate Flooring before I had to leave to pick up my daughter from school. I was undecided as to the type and color so I figured it wouldn't hurt to at least see a sample or two before I left. Almost immediately, Sales Associate, Duryea, approached me and asked what I was looking for. Within ten minutes, I was already checking out with an unbelievably low priced Vinyl. Duryea not only educated me on what the differences and advantages were between Vinyl and Laminate, he directed me to the style I wanted at a price that was at Clearance level. We called floor and decor for design help, after walking through menard and home depot with little to no assistance from anyone, we called and set up a free design services consultation. Kathy in Lombard came to our rescue on our bathroom remodel. I have to say if floor and decor upper management reads these post I hope they see how incredibly wonderful their employee Kathy is. She was not only easy to talk to, she set us at ease immediately to the task at hand. Kathy reassured us she would help pull together our vision board and bring it to life. Kathy was so knowledgeable, she knew where every example of tile was in the store. As we explained our ideas Kathy was quick to offer the good and bad of the choices, she explained why cement tiles, verses porcelain over marble was good and bad. Which settings each type of tile would best be suited and why certain sizes would and wouldn't work in our space. Kathy explained the differences in grout verses mortor and cement board sizes and depths. We walked in so overwhelmed after many weeks of trying to pick our tile and floor ourselves and we walked out ecstatic and at ease everything we needed was in our delivery. When we picked a discontinued tile, Kathy was able to find every piece we would need at another location and fill our whole order at that other store so it was all delivered together. When we didn't care for a topper to the tiles called a slooter,Kathy was able to find a pencil tile that would compliment our design. All in all if you need design assistance, go to the Lombard store, make an appt with Kathy in design services and you will not be disappointed. Even when our order ran past our appt time,she never made us feel rushed. When our check out ran past closing. Kathy was positive and made sure we understood everything about our delivery and the full list of items we were getting. Things we didn't even know were needed she reassured us were there for our installer. Floor and decor has an amazingly talented design assistant in Kathy! I hope her bosses see the sale she had today and give her the added extras she truly deserves. Thank you Kathy! Im a contractor 25 years so take my advice. Check your Floor & Decor tile before you install. The tile is beautiful but it was not square. Purchased a 12x24 tile that was out 1/4" in a 12" span. How does this happen and how do you sell this crap. All I can say is thank God it was my home and not a client. When I called the manger about it he said just return it. It's on the wall so too late for that. I've seen tile larger then the next by 1/8" but never tile that is not square by a 1/4". They really need to revisit where they purchased this from. The only reason I gave you 2 stars is because the Pro Sales team was very good and all of your employees were helpful. It is not their fault that this product made it to the floor. I've always been a fan of this place, my kitchen backsplash and all the flooring in my bathroom, kitchen and utility room are from this place. I recent did did my mother-in-laws bathroom and kitchen from this place as well. Usually I purchase all the materials and then hire contractors to do the work. Now I am in the process of working our summer home in Michigan which needs some updating. Right now the bathroom walls are a little rough from pulling off the old 1950's plastic tile. The bath/shower area is completely done and I just wanted to get some wall tile to cover the rest of the area...non wet area. Kathy the sales person worked with us for about an hour on flooring and wall tile. We were in the process of filling an order and when we got to the mortar she asked a fellow associate Duryea, about the product needed for tile to the wall. He started talking about putting cement board up to place the tile. I said I'm just putting it on the drywall. Very loudly he said " SIR, YOU CANNOT PUT TILE ON DRYALL, IT WILL NOT SUPPORT THE WEIGHT". Yes in caps because he did raise his voice to me. My reply was if I have to take out drywall and put cement board, then why should I purchase the tile. I'll just replace the rough drywall and paint it. Kathy must have bought into this as well because she said you want to be safe. Frustrated, we left. I immediately called my friend who is a retired carpenter of 40 years an asked if this is true. His immediate reply was BULL$#!+. I also consulted my brothers close friend who is also in the trades and he agreed that it is not true. In the case of wet areas like in the shower area you should put up cement board, or green board will support tile in wet areas. I did some research on the Internet and some Sheetrock manufacturers boast the fact that their product can support up to 150 pounds per square foot (I don't know how much I buy that) They also talk about wall anchors that support 75 to 100 pounds and that's a single point. My carpenter friends gave me examples of toggle bolts supporting 10 to 15 pound lamps in a single point from a ceiling and they don't fall down. Shelving mounted in drywall (not necessarily hitting studs) that will support up to 50 pounds from a single point. Estimate 15 to 20 pounds of tile mounted vertically over a 10 square foot area on 16" center studs....non issue. So, I was very un-appreciated of Duryea raising his voice without providing facts or even casual discussion on the subject. Kathy was very helpful with product selection and very patient with out questions. 3 stars is a mix of 5 from past experience, 1 for our most recent visit. read more

Had an amazing experience shopping here for a backsplash. I want to point out 2 employees that went above and beyond for my parents. Tom kept coming up and checking on us, also he gave us some amazing pointers on what grout to use and he event walked us to where the grout was. Cristian was a blessing to have around! We couldn't decide on the grout color! He took out bunch of samples placed them on top of the tiles and gave us some amazing pointers and opinions on which one would go good with our colors (we were stuck between two grout colors). Everyone at floor and decor deserves a shout out, but Tom and Cristian deserve much more. So next time you are shopping here give them a high five and say your read about them on Yelp :) read more

Sally in the design department is amazing! We worked with her to pick tiles for a whole house renovation and she was extremely helpful and patient. The whole process of renovating an entire house is stressful and I can say for a fact that we wouldn't have known where to start without her. She spent many hours with us over multiple days and helped us design what we had in mind. The reason I'm giving four stars and not five is only because of issues we had when we went to pick up the materials - it took them 3 hours to load the materials onto the truck! It was a huge hassle and honestly I don't have 3 hours to just stand around around in the cold and wait for an order that is already ready to just be loaded. read more

We had a great experience at Floor & Decor picking out materials for a total remodel of our master bathroom. Our contractor didn't do any design work so we were a bit lost, but after meeting with a designer at this location (Heather Bowdish, highly recommended!) we were able to get an artist's eye to help translate some of our thoughts into the correct products. F&D was easy to work with as well: we had to go to another location to pick up a tile we liked but was running low in Lombard and it couldn't have been a more simple process. Will be using them again this fall when we redo the downstairs bathroom as well. read more

Walked in today flustered and tired with our remodel. Visited a few other stores and got no where. Walked into this store and Deon warmly greeted us at the door. We showed him pictures of our project and told him our concerns. He was empathetic, he patiently showed us around, cheered us up and was absolutely wonderful. He stayed with us til the end, 2 hours later we had our backsplash built with a focal point. Words can describe how greatful I am for the service Deon provided. He got us a great grout color. He got assistance from CT and he gave us detailed all the different grouts and sealers. read more

I'm into a small tile job and after some time searching (not me; the wife) she found the tile that she liked at Floor and Decor. Since the initial visit to purchase tile, I have been back on 4 separate occasions and I am throughly impressed with the level of service that I received by just about everyone I came in contact with. Ethan, Deon, Justice, Julio, Carlos, Fred and the nice lady in flooring whose name I did not get, all went out of their way to help. I feel like when I go into stores like Menard's, they're like "whatever". Best Buy, well, they swarm you like flies on shit.. Not here. I knew that if I needed to ask a question, I was going to get a genuine answer. I told Abi about the impression that the employees made on me in the store Friday morning and promised him I would do this. There could better places, cheaper prices, but I don't know if you're going to get the service any where else like you do in this store. I hope someone in management reads this and takes note. I purchased the Hydroshield Evening Shadow flooring and had it installed throughout my house. After 1.5 years the top layer of the floor is lifting and bubbling in my kitchen. I would not recommend this product at all for a kitchen. I live by myself, and there is no excess wear and tear and still has not held up for even this short period of time. It chips very easily. Dropping a fork or a scissors will chip the floor. The product comes with a "Lifetime residential warranty" and says "24 hours of water resistance." I am now working through the warranty process with little success. So far there has been little communication and no steps toward resolving the problem. read more
