This center has many great clinicians and support staff who helped our son make progress with…read moreproblem behaviors and socialization over a period of nearly six months between the Santa Rosa and Petaluma clinic locations. Unfortunately we were dealt a situation that made us reconsider ACE's dedication to our son's progress and our own trust in the company and its local management. With no prior warning our son was suspended from in clinic services for a period of three months over two questionable incidents of elopement that weren't formally communicated to us prior to his suspension(and still haven't been as of this writing, despite formal records requests). Just days prior we participated in a lengthy meeting with his supervisor where the issue was not discussed and he was classified as a low elopement risk. His suspension came out of the blue as we had rarely discussed elopement with supervisory staff and our last updates on the issue were all overwhelmingly positive. We were given no opportunity to discuss or work to remedy any issues prior to suspension. This was devastating to our family as we'd worked hard over a period of months to build a routine that optimized his potential. Families of neurodivergent children become accustomed to the fight for services for their children and ours is no different but the way ACEs blindsided us was by far the biggest blow we've ever received. If you value the consistency that many neurodivergent children crave and require to thrive then steer clear of ACEs in Sonoma County. One of the highlights of our son's life was taken away without so much as a goodbye and our family is left feeling foolish for giving ACE's our trust.
