There were bathrooms available but quite far away. I could not see any water fountains near by. Why not 5 stars? It is so big that I had a tough time keeping track of my little kids. My radar isn't fast enough. When they get older then I can see this being perfect. Also, not much to do with your child if your child isn't good with walking.

BUT when it comes to green space and outdoor activities, they have excelled in making this area great for everyone. The redevelopment of the park is no exception. Before the renovation, this park was 'meh' at best. Too much sand, old wooden playground sets, swings...the typical stuff you would expect to see. But after a year-long renovation this park has become a hot spot for kids and parents. Just take a look at the pictures I posted! This place is amazing. Makes me wish I was 4 foot 1 again! The spray park area is awesome! Slides, water diversion trenches and tons of fountains. Then you move into the rock area which is als as awesome. Then as you pan right some more you have this rope tower mountain that looks like something Spiderman would have webbed for a bad guy. Once you get to the top of this 3 storey structure, you fly down a tube slide that makes kids scared. LOL And it doesn't end there. Now you have this cool park area with multiple slides, climbing areas and other stuff. Then when you thought you had enough, venture on their pirate ship and THEN finish off on a swing....*panting*...ya if your kids don't get wiped out from a day here, there is something wrong with them. What makes this park even better is that the surface is completely cushioned. No sand! The only things I do not like about this place - the public bathroom is locatesd in the ice rink north of the park. SIgns are terrible but there is a bathroom somewhat close by. Secondly, there needs to be a coffee kiosk on site. Ice cream is represented, coffee...nope. So take your kids here! Bring a cooler, drinks, blankets, food. You can have a fantastic afternoon with your children at this park.

What is worse is the goose poop that is everywhere, and you cannot avoid stepping on it. Forget about sitting on the grass! The city should intervene. Lots of people honking their car horns to lock their doors which takes away from the ambience (people are very inconsiderate these days). For a better experience get out of the city.

The park is picturesque, with several man-made lakes, including one stocked with fish. It is also close to the North Saskatchewan River. As Jeanette pointed out, there are a lot of geese here, so in some places you have to watch where you step -- but I personally think Canada geese area beautiful and it is wonderful to see so many of them at once. Hermitage is also home to the memorial for the tornado that took place in 1987. If you head south in Hermitage, you end up passing the Rundle Golf Course and eventually ending up in Rundle Park itself. To the north is a steep hill worth the climb for the incredible view. Unless you live in the north, Hermitage can be a bit of a trek to get to, but it is worth the effort.

Rundle Park has the largest and most well-used disc golf course in Edmonton, and is home to Edmonton's disc golf league. For those that aren't familiar with disc golf, it's similar to traditional golf, in that you start at a tee, but the goal is to throw discs into baskets instead of hitting balls into holes. Disc golf has ramped up popularity since Covid restrictions were introduced, as it's an easy outdoor sport that has no green fees and allows for social distancing. I've played the course at Rundle many times and I still find it challenging. Some of the holes are fairly long, and have hazards like water or hills to keep you on your toes. Compared to the other courses I have played, Rundle could do a better job with signage to help players find the next hole, as some of the holes criss-cross each other a bit. The bathrooms in the family centre are open daily, and there are plenty of parking spots. Aside from disc golf, Rundle is huge. I've attended 5k races here, and they easily can stay within the park. There are playgrounds, and numerous picnic sites. On a recent Sunday, the park was full of people setting up makeshift picnic sites in the grass, and all the city-run picnic spots were fully of families. I will note that the mini-golf is no longer open, even though there are a few painted signs remaining in the park. Rundle is a wonderful place in the city to spend time with family and friends, and a perfect picnic destination.

LOVE me some Rundle Park…read more When I first moved to Canada, from Seattle, 14 years ago our townhouse was across the street. Now, the area is a bit rough but that's not Rundle Park's fault. The park itself is MASSIVE and contains the ACT pool, the clubhouse you can rent out for parties, paddle boats, lots of trails, views/access to river valley, and tennis courts open to the public for free. Not to mention the bumpy roller coaster feel of the road that will abuse your car but is oh so fun for bike riding. It's build on the old city dump so that's why the ground bubbles up all over the place! There's a golf course here though I've never had the pleasure. They also have outdoor mini golf but I've never tried that either. They also set up huge bails of hay here in the winter along the fence lines for awesome and relatively safe tobogganing! Loads of natural light and plenty of room for our kiddo Christmas party (we fit 3 large bouncy castles in addition to tables and couches). Plenty of parking and quite a bit of deck/promenade space over the lake for nicer temperatures. This is the same lake used for paddle boats in summer and ice skating in the winter. I could easily see a wedding reception being held here, etc. I've been here twice now for Christmas parties with no concerns. I'd definitely recommend them to others and keep them in mind for functions if my own.

Pool I've been meaning to check out in sherwood park…read more Wave pool, different from Millwoods pool. Reminds me of West Edmonton Mall. Alarm goes off and the waves start coming. Not as big as WEM but still super cool. Can be very crampt on weekends looks like. Lots of families there. They have a hot tub, sauna, steam room and a lazy river. They basically have it all. Lanes were closed for dropins. Its a big sports center, if I was in the park more often I woulf check it out. Definitely a gem to check out.

Well I thought i picked up COVID here. Turns out my results came back negative but whatever I have…read moreI'm 100% sure I picked it up in this cesspool. Yeah masks are mandatory for about two seconds, after you pay it's a free for all. Definitely more than 50 riders when I was there majority of them children with no sense of personal space or hygiene, the parents equally oblivious to those as well, no rules about park etiquette anywhere to be seen for the children to learn. Sweaty kids breathing all over you. 1 bottle of hand sanitizer and I'm fairly sure it went sour. If I could give 0 stars I would. Not to mention none of the workers care to sweep the park leaving a nice and slippery layer of dust over the whole place. This isn't an indoor skate park more like a big babysitter for lazy parents. The owners happily taking money engaging in risky behaviour during these times not taking people's health into consideration. Quite sad what the outcome of this "indoor park" has become. If you are looking to get disgustingly sick this is the place for you!
