They will send your child home likely 3/5 days of the week due to "policy's" and still charge you the weekly pay in full the teachers will give you nasty looks as well as throw away your baby's lunch if they don't want them to eat it. Next the Vpk program. Mrs. Kristain does not like her job and that is extremely clear, the lack of motivation the rudeness and that lack of care for the children is extremely sad. My daughter has had a terrible first year of school experience here. Major management issues!!! hopefully soon it improves until then please don't make the mistake.

I am appalled that someone who declares himself to be a Christian and an educator spews such offensive language and lies. I am all for 1A. As a veteran I fought for those rights, however, the responsibility of having free speech is knowing when and how to voice those opinions and when to use a filter. My concern is that his misogynistic, racist, and homophobic rhetoric is being communicated, either directly or indirectly, to the students of Hillsborough. In most of his statements he seems to be consumed with the subject of pedophilic ideologies. This would be considered indoctrination from the "right" point of view. I called the school and spoke with Doug Boyd regarding Mr. Lewis. He was very condescending, defensive, and without question, supported Mr. Lewis's actions to the extreme that when I brought up Mr. Lewis's Facebook page which shows the same type of propaganda, Mr. Boyd, outright and blatantly, stated that I possibly created a fake FB page under Mr. Lewis's name. This type of negative influence cannot be tolerated or continued within the realm of children who can be so perversely influenced. To do so can only creates hate and animosity within families and the community who are marginalized instead of the love, tolerance, and compassion that is supposed to be taught by the Christian faith.

Probably the worst decision I've made as a parent was putting my daughter in this school. Please…read moreparents, if you're thinking of this school, don't. They would be better off getting their education in public school. The sports? Bad. Clubs? Bad. Teachers? The turn around is insane. No reason a kid should have multiple teachers in all in one year. Started the year off meeting and learning the styles of a few teachers and ended up with complete different ones before the 2nd semester even started. Kids? Not nice. Teacher response? Completely non-existent.

Heaven help your child if they are being bullied. I have had COUNTLESS emails/phone…read morecalls/conferences throughout the years and NOTHING has changed. They don't have a guidance counselor for kids to go to, they don't have a designated nurse either. I don't think anyone has called me or emailed me ever about something happening TO my child but they sure do reach out if she does something wrong. They go through teachers like crazy! In one year my child had 4 DIFFERENT math teachers! 4!!!! How is my child supposed to thrive like this?! They don't have an indoor lunch room for the children either! Try to get an understanding of what the kids are learning? Good luck! No agendas, no weekly communication, nothing. My child has tried harming herself and had to be put in therapy because of the bullying she has received at this school! I am fed up. Please, please if you love your children DO NOT PUT THEM IN THIS SCHOOL.

I will be the first to review this school on Yelp. Maybe that is a good thing…read more I will start by saying, I really do not care for any of the schools in South Hillsborough County. What were once A rated schools have dropped to C and other insane things go on. In fact-i have 2 of my kids (the last one is too young) in schools in South Tampa! So I enrolled my middle child in this school for the Summer VPK program. Initially, going there to drop off the voucher (which I want to state for the record, is a stupid system. There are better ways to keep track of things), it was a little unorganized and the woman at the front desk...well, let's just say I am thrilled I didn't have to deal with her past that point (nice but not attentive and made me wait while she was outside making small talk with a parent she knew). Once we were in, I was very pleased. The other lady in the office (the younger one) was very pleasant-always greeted you when you enter the office or in passing on campus. First day of VPK, we were late and when we got there, we were given a tour by a kind teacher. Our VPK teacher, who is a Kindergarten teacher there, was very nice. She always updated me on my child and seemed on top of things. She had her room all set up and prepared for teaching. The campus seems small, I really didn't venture past the Kindergarten hallway. Cute little garden in the middle of the property. Location is convenient and yet also it's pitfall as it is close to Clairemel and not quite a desirable area-but exact location of this school is good-close to Brandon and other things, close to freeway and expressway. The middle school is also right next door so it's convenient if you have a child in elementary and middle, I saw some lousy ratings on Google for this school which are unfair. They didn't write much or anything at all as to why they gave the school a bad rating. Overall my daughter enjoyed her summer there and I have no complaints!

There's to much to say but it's a decent school but 3 other teachers yell a lot from all my kids…read moreand all my kids friends but I heard ms.brown is the best 5th grade teacher and ms.moskal is the best overall

I disagree with the only other person who reviewed this school. Though as we all know, these are…read moreour opinions so the only way to know better than what we state, is to look into it for yourself. This is a great school, the principle (Mrs. French) is AMAZING-knows most all of the students by name, even the 6th graders. My child is a good girl-her average yearly GPA is a 3.9. I think that being separated from boys is a great idea because the girls can focus on their studies rather than on the boys (don't act like you can't relate, or did you forget how it is to be a teen with raging hormones?). In my opinion, they need to create an all girls high school as well-but the county won't, nor those parents who think their 2 cents is needed (if you don't support single gender schools and have no intentions of enrolling your child in one-keep your opinion to yourself-this obviously doesn't apply to you and we don't need your voice heard in regards to this matter). At any rate, the area does kinda suck but having a magnet school in the area is just a tactic to bring/clean up the surrounding neighborhood, or so I assume. The school is old, obviously not the employees faults but not filthy. I believe the maintenance/cleaning crew has won an award for 2 yrs in a row now for their team/performance. The curriculum is challenging-but maybe that's because my daughter is in all advanced courses-yes, every last one (yes-I am a proud mother, but I am sure you get that by all I've said thus far). I have no complaints of the staff. The teachers communicate well, and the office staff are courteous. The HOST program is great and the HOST staff...well I couldn't ask for better. My daughter has been on the school's soccer team and also in band and I'll be adding Golf Academy to the list for this upcoming school year. Overall, this has been an excellent experience. I drive 20 mins. out of my way (taking Expressway of course, and tack on another 15 mins. to get to my job), but it is worth it to me. We fully intend on finishing out her middle school experience at Ferrell. My daughter loves the school and if she loves it, then I love it too. But a lot of the girls love the school and make good grades (of course not all)-so that should speak for something! Oh-and they do have school dances where the boys from the all boys prep school (Franklin I believe) come to attend. The girls also play their sports right before the all boys prep so there's a chance to mingle there for a few...and also in the summer HOST program, it is co-ed. So see? Not JUST all girls-they so get some boy interaction, it's just not on a daily which is fine by me! Besides, most girls in this age group would rather be around girls...this is the age range where they start to blossom. Oh, this is an Apple certified school, so each girl is assigned an iPad to carry throughout the day. Check it out-only you can decide what you believe is best for your daughter. I only see benefits for mine. This is an A rated school. It is new, I believe only 3 yrs old, but trust me, your child can reap more benefits by attending this school than a co-ed or traditional school. Go see for yourself :) Oh, and this review is not up for debate. I'm not interested in hearing the confrontational parent who wants to argue single gender schools, this is just my review on my daughters school, that we so love.
