Sunrise surf shop was always awesome, but they have truly amped it up since I have last visited!…read moreThis is a huge surf shop with everything and anything you could possibly need for the whole family .. all ages, all interests, and nothing but high quality products and original works by the owner, Dom. I actually had decision burn-out, as I went in sleepy, not knowing how they expanded this store greatly since my last visit! I left with some super cute accessories but I am considering going back before I had back up North to buy something else while I am not half-asleep! And maybe a super cute and soft towel even though there's no good beaches up north, but the towels were just that beautiful and buttery soft! There's a really dope Halloween design, amongst other awesome designs, and you can put them on a variety of shirt styles! Awesome music was playing, and staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Especially the two ladies who were helping me; if every retail employee was modeled after these girls, the world would be a happier place and stores could certainly boost their sales too honestly! Compliments to the staff! Whether it's accessories, clothes, decks, surfboards, trinkets, toys, gifts, or anything in between ... you will find it here at Sunrise Surf Shop! I promise you will find something that makes your heart smile!

They have a plethora of items for men, women and children here including comfy sandals to walk about in. Judy helped me find the most comfy flip flops by "Oofos." My flat feet are loving every minute of them Jerry! Lol. Like walking on clouds! Available in a lower heel but I like feeling tall so I went with the platform ones...a little pricey and $20 more than the flatter ones but worth every penny! They also sell jewelry, hand bags and top brands swimsuits for men, women & children. *Very friendly and helpful staff *Plenty of parking in the lot *They put out several sale racks out front every day. Prices range $10 - $20

On vacation to Florida to see my family since I was recently critically shot (which the owner knew…read moreabout) in the Las Vegas massacre & needed a peaceful retreat because of my PTSD/anxiety. Went into this shop to get some nicknacks & found a few I liked after a while of searching every nook and cranny. Went & purchased them (right after my aunt just made a $108 purchase at this place) & realized immediately after she ran my card an ornament is damaged. Her response "oh I wish I didn't already run it." It was the only one so I couldn't replace it, & apparently there's no refunds. Ok so I'm standing right here, you know your product is damaged because I haven't moved, know I can't afford to waste money since I'm out of work with my injury, but won't refund me $7 after BOTH of our purchases? She said I could pick out anything in the store for an equal price to exchange, but I didn't want anything else in there, I'd looked. Between the two of us we spent $135 & she couldn't refund me $7. Ya know, if YOUR business is in the wrong & you clearly sold damaged goods.. you change your policy for the situation. Nope, not here. She could've cared less. This lady is all about her money. No heart. My mother, grandmother, & other aunt wanted to come back tomorrow since we went without them today, but my entire family is sick to their stomach this lady was so about her policy & not any compassion. Be careful, she'll sell you broken stuff. She'll put on a good show like she cares though in the beginning though. Thanks for "helping" my anxiety.

Great small museum. We learned a lot about Bean Backus and The Highwaymen. We also learned about…read morethe impact he had on the local area and beyond with his art and his open door policy with anyone and everyone. We spent a solid two hours there and it was enough to see everything this time of year. The only thing is they didn't have a "special"/rotating art exhibit so that may have shortened our time there some. If you're in the area then I recommend coming here. It's worth the money and the stop.

This gallery is named for A. E. Backus (1906-1990). He was a self taught artist who was well known…read morefor his Florida landscape paintings. Later on he went on to teach art and a student of his and 25 other African American male artists and one woman influenced by his style became known as the highwaymen. They were a group of artists around the Fort Pierce area who quickly created Florida folk art featuring landscapes from oil paints on Uppson board used as roof sheeting. From 1950-1980 they would anonymously sell the art out of the trunks of their cars on A1A and US 1 from Daytona to Miami. The museum and gallery was established by Backus in 1960. In addition to housing the art of A.E. Backus the gallery contains the only permanent multi media exhibition of Highwaymen art. Art by Backus and the Highwaymen are available for purchase in the gallery. The museum also has four wings that display charging artist exhibits. During the year the museum hosts many events like lectures, brunch, and bingo. The outside of the building is covered in murals inspired by the Highway Men landscapes. Behind the the museum are sculptures in the park that runs along the Indian River Lagoon. Admission is $5. Students and service members with ID are free, and the first Sunday of the month is family day and it's free. A Highwaymen painting in 1950 sold for $25, now they are in demand by collectors and can command $5,000. If you can't afford to purchase one coming here to view the museums collection is the next best thing.
