In covering all the aspects of the party I thought about the possibility of weather issues. So I decided a tent would be the solution. I called around for a couple of quotes but after speaking to Justin from Magnif-A-Tent I knew I was heading in the right direction. When the guest list was completed we had 125 guests coming. Not being exactly sure of what size tent we would need, Justin came to my house to measure out the yard to find the best location and to see how big a tent we would need. He laid out a plan for a 30 x 60 tent with an adjoining 20 x 20 tent for a dance floor, and for good measure a 10 x 10 tent for the DJ. Justin and his crew showed up Friday morning and spent 7 hrs setting up these tents along with tables, linens and chairs. Saturday morning it was raining and Justin and another fellow showed up early in the morning to double check that everything was perfect and we would have no problems. The party began and the weather cooperated as best it could. Party was fabulous and went off without a hitch because of Magnif-A-Tent. Do I recommend them. Well if you have to ask then you haven't read this review. If I every need a tent there's only one number I'll call.

One of my clients has multiple homes; one of them being in Southampton. This year I was asked if I could come for the week to assist with a large, annual Fourth of July Family Day party. They pull out all the stops for their guests and throw quite a celebration. Party was on Saturday, July 6th. By July 4th, the weather forecast was looking iffy for the weekend, so it was decided a tent would be the right course of action. Mind you, that's two days before the event! The Estate Manager called around and collected various estimates on a variety of tenting options; some very elaborate...and expensive. She found Bruce on Google, discovered he had an option (size-wise) that would work for our situation and space, and was delighted at the price he was able to offer it for. She signed on the dotted line. Bruce and his team of fellows arrived promptly when they said they would on Friday afternoon. Set up a very handsome tent in excellent condition and offered additional services, which we declined because we had what we needed. For instance, he offered to let us use his string lighting system for inside the tent (included). This with other rental houses would have been at an additional charge. I had lights, so declined his generous offer. We decided we might need a few additional folding chairs; luckily Bruce had the very same ones in his truck. He's a good natured fellow, and asked, "What did you pay for those chairs", meaning the other 72 we had from the big, pink elephant rental company. I didn't know, but he quickly offered that he did know, and "I can tell you, I rent mine for a lot cheaper." I don't doubt he does. And if truth be told, his was a better chair made out of a white resin, not wood. Before he left, he went to his truck to get us a fire extinguisher? Yes! I asked, "what is this for"? He explained that it is a law enforced by the local Fire Marshal and to keep nearby in case they decide to pay us an inspection visit. That could have easily been overlooked and landed us in somewhat of a sticky place. FYI, tents in Southampton require a permit. He is a local, small business man. I liked his service and his style. Going forward, both the Estate Manager and I agreed that if we ever have party rental needs like tables and chairs, or tents, we would certainly give Bruce a crack at earning the business. He came back on Sunday when he said he would and collected all his things and left the yard in the same condition in which he found it. We rented supplies from Camelot for a September outdoor wedding this year. While they did do a…read moregreat job setting up the tent and it looked great, the 1 star review is in relation to their customer service and misleading staff... We made a reservation order which included 2 generators ($700 each) at the recommendation of Lori when explaining the layout. Multiple times we were told that adjustments can be made until day of event so let's just "reserve it for now". Fast forward we did not in fact need 2 generators, only 1. I emailed Lori asking if we can adjust our reservation to only 1 generator, to which I was told "yes no problem we can do that for you". However, they still charged the $700 for it and did not deliver it. I followed up 3x via email regarding a reimbursement and I did not get a response. I called 1 month after event to try and speak to Lori, but had to speak to a different agent instead. Then I was told that "just because the email said no problem doesn't mean you'd get the money back". The company is misleading and avoidant. I highly recommend AVOIDING Camelot and using a different rental company that values customer service a bit more than Camelot.
