It occurred to me recently that Yelp would be an even better place if we would actually review our…read moredoctors here in Denmark. Since there is no real source to know how to find a GOOD doctor, I'm starting the movement! Yelpers unite and start reviewing! Starting with the positive, because that's how I do. I have had both the fortune and misfortune of needing a physical therapist here in Copenhagen on numerous occasions, for numerous injuries. Such is the life of an active person, I suppose. I was referred to Frederiksberg Fysio through Nordic Netcare (a branch my insurance company works with), initially for a strained Achilles tendon, and when other random injuries presented themselves over the course of time, I found myself back at FRB Fysio, due to my initial positive experiences there. I have worked both with Rene Sølund Burkal (Achilles and slipped disk in lower back), and Niels Mygind (sprained rib). I don't feel like it's even necessary to break down the differences between Rene and Niels. It seems they both work off of the same high standard encouraged by FRB fysio, and I felt comfortable working with both of them in rehabilitating all of my injuries. They are both extremely thoughtful, resourceful in their work, and provide follow up suggestions that, when followed, make big differences in performance, and general movement. On all occasions I have come in in pretty bad shape, having lost some mobility and been in pain, and have never left not feeling at least somewhat better. While my insurance paid for my visits, they do have subsidized cost brackets for those without private insurance, and I would consider them relatively affordable as physical therapists go, particularly once you make it through the first consultation, which is always way more thorough. And while there are other private PTs out there, who may be great for specific things, especially sports injuries (which all of mine were), I was looking to not spend 500kr a visit for someone specific, even though I have a great network of those types in my community, and feel quite satisfied with my choice, mostly because I've saved a lot of money and still managed to rehab without much trouble. *thumbs up*

On the phone I was told that I could get a chiropractic treatment instead of the hot stone massage, since the latter was sold out. At the human being center I was told that I should combine a massage with a little bit of chiropractic. It was even suggested that I should pay an extra 100 kr for the treatment, which I didn't want to, since I bought a deal and thought it already included a lot. In the end I got a chiropractic treatment lasting for at most 20 min. The person treating me left the room twice and left me alone lying there and waiting for him for 10-15 minutes each time. After the chiropractic treatment I was brought to a bathtub. I complained that my deal includes a massage which I didn't get and that my "masseur" spend tops 20 minutes with me instead of 50. I asked whether I can't come back and get a proper massage or a hot stone treatment another time. My "masseur" suggested to come back for a massage that I would have to pay though. So I went in a boiling hot bath, but didn't really know how to adjust the temperature. There was nobody to ask so I pressed all buttons I could find and in the end decided to just leave after only 10 minutes. On the way out I met the person giving me that chiropractic treatment and told him that this was really not what that deal promised and neither what I paid for. So again he suggested to come back and get another treatment. For me as a student he would do that half price. So over and over I was pushed to spend more money and absolutely didn't get what the deal included!
