I had an excellent experience at the event. I created my own bowl with roasted butternut squash, brown rice and salmon. It was cooked perfectly! My meal was accompanied by Prosecco with a splash of kombucha. I'm so excited that Flowerchild opened here! The staff was super friendly! There's a great variety of options available here as well, whether you eat meat or are a vegetarian. I will definitely be visiting this spot regularly and you should too! read more

I was so disappointed. Flower Child is a national chain that we discovered while on vacation in Tucson and were delighted to discover had a location in Tysons. We liked FC so much that we literally drove to Tysons on the way home from the airport to pick up dinner. I ordered the same menu items I had eaten just the night before in Tucson so had a fresh comparison. At Tysons the tofu was dried out and curled at the edges, as though it had been cut the week before, whereas in Tucson the interior was still moist and the outside had been grilled enough to give it a smoky flavor. At Tysons the "roasted" broccoli was undercooked and did not bear any evidence of having been roasted. In Tucson the broccoli was delicately crunchy around the edges and properly tender. Also in Tucson the broccoli had enough lemon to balance the parmesan whereas in Tysons there was far less lemon in the dish. On the plus side, both places had friendly, prompt service and we even found a parking place in Tysons set aside for take-out orders. read more

Very nice and clean on the inside with great service. The people were very happy and friendly and the atmosphere was great. Our food came out extremely quickly. The place is beautifully decorated with plants all over and it was very spacious. The food was amazing. Our Brussel Sprouts were very good and the steak was delicious. The Crushed Avocado Toast was pretty good and, oddly enough, it tasted kind of like a banana! I would definitely recommend this place whether you are coming to get food quickly or just want to sit down for a good meal. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

The fresh, healthy, and delicious options here has made Flower Child one of my go-tos for ordering during the quarantine! Great way to get your greens while still feeling satisfied. A lot of vegetarian takeout tends to be cheese and bread heavy, but FC offers plenty of stuff that doesn't make me feel bloated, even after eating way too much of it (because it is so tasty!). I love the sides, especially the chili sweet potatoes, roasted sprouts, and smashed potatoes. Very thankful to have this as an option! read more

Wow. What an amazing new spot. The staff was very helpful explaining the menu. The menu has a lot of super creative/complex entrees. We ended up ordering an organic kale and Cobb, they were both amazing! We both agreed it was the best salad we've had in a long time. The restaurant is in the Boro in Tyson's corner across from Whole Foods with free parking when you validate your stub at the counter. I wasn't a huge fan of this place after my first visit but I'm glad I held off on writing a review. I recently had Flower Child again this week. I work across the street so we had lunch brought in. We had the mac and cheese, steak, broccoli, salad, mashed potatoes, and cookies/brownies. All of it was amazing. The steak was cooked medium/medium-rare and was excellent and the broccoli portions were huge. I really enjoyed all of it and after this most recent catering experience, I will be back. read more

Great takeout, especially the family style option. Was ready exactly when I specified it to be ready on the online ordering option. I was tired of cooking but needed a healthier option with nutrition facts clearly labeled and this fit the bill. Flavor is good. Seems like a great restaurant to take a mixed crowd to- everyone can find something good to eat. Great "healthy" food option for when you don't want to cook. First few times were really great, but recently ordered the steak and the meat was extremely chewy, tough. It was not a great experience but hoping it was a one-off. The mac & cheese is good. Loved the mashed potatoes and the mother earth bowl. In the past, I have had pleasant experiences with different servers and the food has alway been good. I appreciate the vegetarian options and the perfectly sweetened drink. Unfortunately, this recent experience has soured my opinion of this restaurant. My boyfriend and I went there last Saturday to grab some food to go. We ordered separately and as he ordered I went to fill up my drink. I did not see this happen or I would have stepped but still wanted to share as I believe micro aggressions should not be tolerated. As my partner gave his name, the server did not understand. I can understand this but even though his name is not white-sounding it is not complicated to pronounce. Her attitude is what made it worse. At first, she responded with another name (a more basic/ common name). Then, when my boyfriend explained that was not his name, instead of asking him to spell or to repeat she shrugged and wrote down the more basic name she guessed. Mind you, these were not similarly sounding, this was clearly motivated by a prejudiced belief system. There were so many better ways to treat this situation and the blatant lack of care for someone's name makes me incredibly disappointed in how flowerchild trains their employees. Please educate your employees about how to treat someone who does not have a white sounding name, and to respect their name instead of getting annoyed and putting down something more "palatable" to their casually racist point of view. I expected more of a seemingly progressive establishment in 2022. I hope this gets rectified and no one has to experience a micro aggression when wanting to grab some food. read more

I can't believe how good this place is. I walked in on a random weekday evening after work as I needed to grab some stuff from the Whole Foods store next door and I'm very glad I stopped by. This restaurant has a broad choice of healthy foods at a reasonable price. I specially liked the fact that it wasn't just healthy but it was healthy and tasty at the same time. Having eaten or taken out from here 4 of the past 5 nights should tell you everything you need to know! The food is delicious and very fresh. Great combination of flavors. So far, the teriyaki shrimp and avocado, the Brussels and squash salad along with the glow bowl, all rate 5 star! The vegan chocolate chip cookies are great; wouldn't know they're vegan if not on the package. The staff is very courteous and friendly. Mark, the GM, is, of course, dashing and most gratuitous! I truly don't understand all of the hype surrounding this place. I feel like they advertise themselves as selling healthy yet still delicious tasting and hearty tasting meals, primarily for lunchtime, however, the two times that I've ordered from them, they've really missed the mark with me. I'll start off by saying their food is just bland. I ordered a meal that came with tofu and a choice of three different sides and I was extremely disappointed with their tofu. Very thinly sliced, no crispness or flavor to it at all. The sides I got were also relatively bland, although their Mac n cheese was somewhat decent. My entire order came out to around $20, which was just not worth it in my opinion. I decided to then give them another chance, and ordered their salmon Caesar and avocado salad this time for lunch. Once again, I was let down. The salad came out to around $19, which is just really outrageous in my opinion, when the salmon isn't even cooked thoroughly and they barely give you enough dressing and avocado. Super average tasting, and once again not a whole lot of flavor. Safe to say I will not be returning here to give them a third chance, as I've already wasted my money twice and subsequently became physically sick after eating the salmon Caesar salad. read more

What an outstanding addition to the area where you can get a quick bite to eat and know you're eating delicious, healthy food! We ordered the Vietnamese salad with salmon, a curry bowl with salmon and a kids meal with smashed potato, tofu and clementines. Everything had great flavor, was served quickly, and the staff was excellent in making sure we had what we needed. They are offering a special right now which would for sure bring us back again sooner - 2 meals for $20 (with any protein), and 2 for $5 beer and wine! I hope that special stays around for awhile because it's a great date incentive. It's really nice to see some more healthy options in the area! I came here twice and both times got the turkey avocado cobb. Normally I'm not a salad person but this one is very good. The first visit my husband got the shrimp entree and said it was good, I'm allergic to shellfish so didn't get to try. My toddler enjoyed her kids meal chicken and they were able to accommodate her dairy/egg allergy. On my second visit my friends got the shrimp teriyaki and the forbidden rice bowl.
