I love that they are a local small business and every time I see a post from them I immediately get "heart eyes." I wish I could visit their shop in person because it looks breathtaking, and I'd also love to take some of their beginning classes in floristry. Fiona was our florist for our wedding, and I will mostly just let the photos of her work speak for themselves. Absolutely breathtaking. I requested a colorful bouquet with a lot of texture, scottish thistle boutonnieres, lantern centerpieces, and a beautiful flower shop style setting for our ceremony. Fiona delivered and then some. I think flowers in the UK are just better and of more variety than in the US, and the eye for floral artistry is just infinitely better. I showed Fiona a photo of a tropical bouquet (my original wedding was tropical.. it's a long story) that was my dream bouquet. It had a lot of color and some beautiful trailing ribbons. Fiona ordered the most amazing hand-dyed silk ribbons from Heirloom Silk Ribbons.. they added such a wonderful boho touch to my bouquet, and made the bouquet just that much more special. I personally have an obsession with attention to detail, and Fiona's attention to detail was just so incredible. To top it off, there was a mishap with the original geometric terrariums she had planned to use for my centerpiece, and while I was completely fine with the suggested changes, she went over the top and made even larger, more extravagant centerpieces for me to make up for it. Oh my gosh.. they were just so stunning. I originally was going to go minimal on the flowers because they can be so expensive, but I found even these high end florals from Narcissus to be so affordable and absolutely worth every penny. My husband was skeptical, as a man who doesn't fully understand the draw of flowers.. but when he saw what Narcissus created for us, he knew that every detail and every penny was absolutely worth it and then some. I think in the US, flowers such as these would have been 2 or 3 times the price, and would have come along with some pretty rude service. I cannot recommend Narcissus flowers highly enough. Stunning is the best word I can use to describe Narcissus. They are truly a one-of-a-kind shop, and when I see what they are posting it instantly makes me feel good. That's what flowers should be- they of course don't last forever, but that feeling they give you when you are admiring their beauty is absolutely worth it. Flowers, especially of this high caliber, just bring pure joy and beauty.

It has a fab selection of plants and garden equipment. The restaurant always has something nice to offer and is always busy at lunch times. Anytime I need advice the staff are really helpful and offer to help you to your car with your goods (usually compost with me!!). It's won awards in the past as of that you can rely on quality. Not only that they are independant and local.

The gift shop is just the kind of cute I'm all in for. They stock Ness accessories and really adorable handcrafted brooches and similar goodies. Although, probably not at peak lunch hours as the cafe does get extremely busy. Just a heads up: the cafe gets warm, since you're technically in one big greenhouse. If it's a warm day, it will be even warmer inside.

Today was just as short a visit with a festive gift in mind for paying my boyfriend's parents a visit. A cute mini Christmas tree decorated in a small festive sack (adorned with a pine cone and artificial orange!) caught my eye and was a steal at just £5. From my experience so far, staff are friendly. I've always had an idea of what I wanted and left satisfied without needing any assistance. Although, I'm sure the staff are helpful if you're at a loss of any floral ideas for your occasion and I've no doubt they make great custom bouquets as everything ready-made is brilliant, especially the quirky mini plant pot arrangements. I'm sure I'll be back but next time I'd love to stick around for longer and have a proper browse. Bring cash since they don't have a card machine. (Worry not, there's an ATM across the road!)

I wanted something for my friends pre-graduation party that wouldn't cost me too much. The girl there was so friendly and helpful with great suggestions. She respected my budget area and didn't try and push it up like other places try to do. The flowers I got were beautiful and according to my friend lasted for a long while. Very pleased and would certainly return here for future flower needs.

Pauls baby shop has been around for as long as I can remember - and that's a while!…read moreIt's a very small shop situated at Hamilton's Top Cross area and is a traditional, older fashioned boutique style shop dedicated to selling baby clothes. Although the shop is tiny, it does stock quite an extensive range of clothing for babies and is all the more special because it stocks items you won't find everywhere else. The clothes in here aren't cheap, but they are good quality so it's the ideal place to go and buy a present for that special new arrival - the window is always dressed with lovely ideas!
