Ordered some birthday flowers for a girlfriend who was staying with me - so I got to see the flowers AND her reaction....both were great. Original designs (none of that "give me the Birthday Best Bouquet") which allows them to use best of season flowers in unique containers. I described my girlfriend, told them the price I was able to spend, and both objectives were met. It was a pretty selection of sweetheart roses, purple tulips, and a few berries and buds. Set in a tall vase which was then inserted into an unusual wood vine basket. Very fresh flowers, and delivered according to schedule. If you wish to send anyone in the Hendersonville area (and probably Flat Rock, Arden, Fletcher, and Mills River, too) you cannot make a better choice of florists! read more

I recently got married just outside of Asheville, but had to travel in from St Louis where I'm currently living. I was up a creek without a paddle, and asked for recommendations from the venue for a florist; that's when Larry, his staff, and Lafawnduh entered my life. It'll never be the same. We contacted Larry's staff, and they set up an appointment for Larry and me to talk by phone. They had me set up a pinterest page with ideas of what I liked. Throughout most of my wedding planning process, I felt like I had seriously screwed up by not starting to plan things back when I was 13. Larry looked at what I liked, and made it come to life in the most magical way possible, all of it without me being able to use words to express my thoughts. "Oh," Larry says to me on our first phone date, "You like a lot of greenery and big full flowers like ranunculous," and I was like, "Who are you calling ranunculous??" because I seriously know nothing about flowers. He has immaculate taste, and will help you bring what you want to life, even if you don't know how to explain it to him. When we met with him, his shop was Straight Outta Hogwarts, including an adorable pet miniature pig (Lafawnduh). He has all kinds of beautiful, interesting plants/flowers/decor. Even though I know nothing about growing things, I could've spent hours looking over his inventory and learning about things like staghorn ferns and appropriate climates for peonies. My mom was over the moon, my mother law was over the moon. Larry was under budget. No seriously, he had me send in the flower budget, and even though he made all of our bouquets, decorated the tables for the wedding, and decorated the event space for the ceremony, he came in way under the budget we'd given him. He brought all of my ideas to life, and gave me the most magical wedding I ever could have hoped for. My husband, who knows even less about plants and flowers than I do, saw what Larry had made and said, "Do you think Larry would hang out with us if we come back to town?". Larry was there on the big day, and came to give me a hug per my request, and agreed to meet us for dinner if we come back to town, so I'll clearly be following up with him and Lafawnduh. I don't know what monster gave FBL a 1 star review, but suffice to say...that monster probably punches orphaned kittens. read more

We spoke on the phone with regard to Larry's available flowers for a specific arrangement that was to include white roses, white orchids and bells of Ireland. He assured me that he could do this so I stopped looking further and did not call other florists. The quoted price was not cheap, but was reasonable for what I was requesting. They took my money, but included only one stem of the requested and promised flowers. There were NO white orchids, NO Bells of Ireland, a white rose and a vase of other far less desirable flowers. They had my phone number, reaffirmed my order, but failed to deliver a bouquet I was proud to have sent. They should have called me when they could not or decided not to fill the order st the agreed upon price. If you are ordering from out of town and don't care what is sent in your name or what you paid for it, then this might be the florist for you! read more

if you're looking for a florist/artist that would make your vision comes to life, Larry is your guy!! we planned a destination wedding in Asheville, in the fall, and decided to hire Larry as the florist/decorator. i sent him couple emails detailing my vision for the venue, with couple pictures (i was fully very particular with the shades of colors), and i was worried of what might be the results having never met him or worked with him before. he was very calming, helpful, and super professional in describing all the details that he was going to include in his design.
