This place will not let you down. It's beautifully set up with fresh flowers, cards, little gifts, balloons and even jewellery. There are pre-made bouquets which I have purchased twice while on the go. One had lovely rustic looking flowers with a small apple in the bunch. They were much loved by the recipient, well wrapped in brown crepe paper and a few bits of burlap and ribbon. I've also went in and asked them to make me up a bouquet of blue coloured flowers for a new Mum of a baby boy. I named my price and a gorgeous arrangement with blue hydrangeas and tall yellow flowers was born. They're very competitive prices considering a bunch of flowers will sometimes cost you $15-$20 at Safeway or Coles. For similar prices you can get a much spendier looking bouquet that's wrapped nicely and includes the plant food. The employees are very friendly as well. There's usually good music playing and a good vibe. I was chatting to one employee, manager or owner I assume, and he was saying that they won first prize in the Melbourne flower show and they were a late entry. Every section of the store is covered with blooms, and at the moment there are some exquisite seasonal flowers including delphiniums (white, purple and blue), bluebells, freesias and hyacinths. Vasette also have Australian and tropical blooms; it's a relief to see a successful flower smith who isn't limited by the traditional English garden varieties. Scarlet waratahs, delicate orchids and enormous crab claws jut out amongst the buckets, and you need not be worried about the quality. All the flowers are fresh, and in all my years of buying blooms I have never been disappointed. Expect great service and great advice.
