The attorney appeared unprepared and inexperienced. My partner, who had previously served time in prison, often had to explain procedures and legal matters that the attorney should have already known. We were repeatedly told that conversations had taken place with the Montgomery County District Attorney about getting the felony case dismissed with restitution, but later discovered that incarceration was actually being pushed instead. Despite paying thousands of dollars, all we seemed to get were repeated court resets with little progress. We ultimately decided to hire a different attorney, and within only a few court appearances, the charges were dismissed. I also felt the seriousness of the case was not handled appropriately. Court appearances often felt casual and unprofessional when we expected focus and urgency regarding my partner's future.
