I actually found this delightful store while searching for a sympathy remembrance. When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and helpful the staff was. As I looked around I noticed very beautiful arrangements and inquired about the different prices. Not only did Gale and Denise help me with my selection they were also very accommodating and knowledgeable on choosing the perfect arrangement. I can't say enough how awesome this floral shop is. I called in an order for a sympathy planter:/basket for a retired Redford Police Officer. I was told that they had nothing 'police like' to add to the basket, but that she would talk to the designer and see if they could come up with something. Having worked for Redford Twsp, myself and knowing Floyd's reputation-I was hopeful. Hopeful for possibly a blue ribbon with a silver stripe, a plain blue ribbon, something, I wasn't expecting a badge or flag, but maybe even a small blue decoration or a blue ribbon ....,anything. I got nothing! In fact I got less then nothing. What I did get was mostly a flower basket (which I did not ask for or want), with yellow flowers and a few red roses. It was definitely not a planter basket for a male police officer. I was very embarrassed when I looked further and saw the card. Every card in the funeral home was either computer generated, or written in nice hand writing. They were all legible, script, printed...but neat and legible. My flower arrangement had a hand written card that looked like a 5 year old child wrote it!! Unbelievably the person that they allowed to print on a sympathy card-delivered to a funeral home-that everyone attending the funeral looked at, was a person whom had sloppy printing, and MISSPELLED MY NAME!!! To add insult to injury their were 2 names sloppily printed in the card with the same last name. The first name was spelled correctly, but (mine) the 2nd time they wrote the same name, it was misspelled. I was mortified and embarrassed to say the least. I heard comments about the flower shop as I stood there in disbelief. Floyd's, you don't get a second chance to send funeral flowers. Obviously you have new staff that can not follow directions and should not be allowed to write on cards. I can still can not believe this came from your shop. read more

I ordered flowers for my aunts funeral last Friday, April 13. I chose an arrangement that should have arrived on a white trellis. The flowers should have been arranged in the shape of a heart, as shown on their website. The arrangement was $300.00. My family was very embarrassed when they went to the funeral and saw what the arrangement looked like. It arrived on a cheap green metal tripod about 4 feet tall with the arrangement in the center of the tripod. It was more of a circle with a dip in the top, it looked nothing like the heart that was shown on their website. When we wanted to get a bereavement bouquet for our supervisor at work, my roommate gathered funds from our department and found a beautiful arrangement online before contacting Floyd's about it. They didn't have it in stock, they said, but they would match it as best they could and have it ready. I went with my roommate to pick it up at the designated time, before our work hours. The inside of the shop was really wonderful - arrangements on display, tons of decorations, toys, and add-ons you could probably ask to have incorporated. And the bouquet we were there to get? It was *gorgeous.* Tonally, it was exactly right for the occasion - and visually, it was wonderful. We found out that the employee who was supposed to have opened the store that day was unable to make it in by the pick-up time we had been given, but someone (a manager?) went above and beyond to have the shop open and the arrangement waiting at the expense of her own time. Not only that, but she helped us move the bouquet to the car, coached us on transportation, and gave us suggestions for the upkeep of the bouquet. It was more than either of us could have asked for, and my roommate and I both left that morning with a glowing opinion of Floyd's and the services they provide. To think we'd lived so close to it for nearly two years and never stopped in! Now I think it's the only place I want to buy flowers. In short: I'd absolutely recommend Floyd's Flowers for whatever floral needs you have! Hopefully your occasion is a happier one than ours - but even without an occasion, it could be worth your time to stop in. Let's be honest: There's never a bad time to buy flowers. :) read more

Dee Dee at Floyd's Flowers was such a HUGE blessing today. I brought in my deceased Grandmother's Christmas Cactus in hopes she could help me revive it. Though reluctant to help due to the condition and age of the plant, she was a "sucker" and re-potted it for me on the spot. What a kind and compassionate woman I met today.
