About how long it took to build, it being over budget and how lots of electrical stuff didn't work. But we found it be very easy to get in and out. Actually, it was a breeze. The only weakness we found, was the lack of Internet service to get an Uber. We were torn on taking U-Bahn into Berlin Hauptbahnhof or just hailing a Cab the old fashioned way. In the end, we chose the later and enjoyed seeing the sights. We even drove past Tempelhof along the way. LOL. We found BER easy to navigate and Customs was pretty fast. It was In/Out pretty quickly for us.

Possibly the most amusingly remote Ryanair-port it has been my pleasure to fly to, and little more…read morethan a small shed in a field. Altenburg is around twenty miles south of Leipzig, and is a charming small town. However, the airport is not in Altenburg itself, rather in the village of Nobitz just outside it, which has the grand total of twenty-five individual streets (according to Google Maps). There is a shuttle bus linking the facility to Leipzig centre (1hr 15 away) and the non-bustling, non-metropolis of Altenburg (15 mins away). Previously a Russian military landing point during the bad ol' Soviet days, this airport definitely puts the field back into airfield. Still, at least you're never going to get much of a queue for security.
