I have nothing to say but amazing things about our experience with Larry Barnett! Larry was our DJ for our recent wedding on January 24th. He came highly recommended to us due to his experience and professionalism. Prior to our wedding, we scheduled two in-person meetings with Larry. During our first meeting, he asked us a variety of questions to get a feel for our taste in music and style for the wedding. Larry encouraged us to just tell him all of our favorite songs, music artists, albums, etc. He used that information to put together a great playlist. After our first meeting, he gave us a few worksheets to complete before our second meeting so he could gather details ahead of time about the logistics of our wedding. During our second meeting, we hashed out all of the nitty gritty details that involved music for the wedding. He encouraged us to let our creativity flow and personalize our wedding through our music choices. There were a few obscure songs that I wanted played at our wedding, and Larry purchased all of those songs to make sure they would be available during our wedding. On the day of the wedding, he created such a fun vibe and got everyone dancing! The dance floor was popping all night, and so many people told us how impressed they were with Larry. 10/10 would recommend Larry! He really is great with last minute changes and makes sure that the couple is always happy. We were very particular regarding no requests; and Larry was great to comply with that. Jaimes was amazing. From the moment we first met with Jaimes to discuss our wedding, he was patient and extremely helpful. His suggestions for fun songs and guiding us through the wedding process made the entire process very enjoyable. Like many other couples on here, we were referred to Fly By Night DJs by the lovely staff a the Vintage Rose. I liked Larry immediately. He's very personable and really knows his business very well. I'm really particular with music and I know it can make or break an event. so, I set up a Spotify page and shared it with him to show him what we were going for and he made it happen. It took me forever to pick my music and he was really patient with me making a zillion last minute changes. The whole staff there is really nice. They send emails every few months and it was the only real countdown I had for my wedding and made the planning a lot more fun for me. The day of the wedding, everything came out perfect. Fly by Night was one of options on the required DJ list for our wedding at The Clarke Estate in Santa Fe Springs. After interviewing quite a few options, we settled in on Fly by Night due to their price, professionalism, and variety with DJs & music. We did struggle on selecting a specific DJ, as many of the DJs we were interested in were not available or no longer working. I cannot rave enough about the excellent job Fly By Night did! We booked them for our wedding this past February, and we were blown away by the experience we had! The in-person consultation was great because it gave Larry (our DJ) an idea for what sort of atmosphere we wanted to have at our reception--we wanted people to remember having a great party at our wedding, and Larry delivered! He was the appropriate amount of announcer--I've had experiences with other companies where the DJ was too chatty or thought he was doing a stand-up routine, but Larry was spot on just the right amount of presence while also keeping the party going. And that was GREAT! We wanted someone who could keep the party going! Also, at the last minute we found out that our ceremony venue didn't have anyone to run music, and not only that but we had a somewhat non-standard ceremony and had picked out our own music for each part of the ceremony, so the venue INSISTED the DJ be present for the rehearsal. Unfortunately, our DJ was booked for the day of the rehearsal, but Larry was able to provide us a SECOND DJ to attend the rehearsal and run the ceremony and he did a FANTASTIC job! We LOVE Fly By Night! Jaimes was the DJ for my sister's wedding about 4 years ago, and we were thrilled with his work then. When it came time to plan my own wedding we called him right away. Not only did he remember my sister's wedding, but he also remembered some of our preferences from that event (clean music, etc.) and was mindful of them while planning mine. Jaimes provided an initial consult at his office, where we were able to discuss everything from the exact timing to the evening to specific song selection. He knows his music!!! When we weren't sure what songs to choose, he had a variety of options to show us to help us decide. He was knowledgeable about all sorts of genres and really had an enormous library of music to choose from. He also supplied different choices for dance lighting as well as uplighting for our venue walls. A few days before the wedding, he called me to re-read his notes (he took detailed notes of what we wanted at our consult) and confirm that he was not missing any of the information. It was great, as we had a couple of changes that I had forgotten to email him about. At the event, Jaimes was a dream. He knew how to read the crowd and keep the dance floor full the entire night. His transitions were excellent and everything flowed seamlessly. The BEST part was that he was dancing and enjoying himself as well - we loved it! I would highly recommend Fly By Night, Jaimes was a super star DJ who knew exactly how to run a wedding reception. I was running out of time to find a DJ and received the best quote I could find in less than a week from this company. Larry is the owner who was very responsive and helped me choose which DJ would be best for our special night. Jaimes was professional. We spoke for about an hour over the phone to get all the details covered. I actually had no idea how a wedding reception was supposed to flow.
