We recently went on a Dave Koz cruise to Amsterdam. We sadly caught Covid and could not return home. The airlines indicated we needed to call the travel agency in order to rebook or we would have to pay for all new tickets, this would have cost us 6,000.00. We immediately reached out to Flying Dutchman. After an initial call where they assured us they would call us back we heard nothing. We called 3 days straight and left a message each time requesting a call back for assistance. We also left several emails with no answer. Ultimately we begged the airlines to let us do a transfer explaining that the Flying Dutchman ghosted us and we just want to get home. FD is great at setting it all up but have an emergency and need assistance... you will get NOTHING. I no longer recommend their services! read more

This company should not be in business the way they treat people! I booked a cruise with them with several big name artist for October 2012 for my Mother's birthday. I have paid everything in full when one of the artist, the only one my mother wanted to see, backed out! I spoke to my mother who at this point did not to go. I did the right thing and called them to ask about a refund, since they were not delivering the package I signed up for. After waiting a week for the owner, Tracy, to return from vacation I was rudely told that she would not refund me the cruise, she had already spoken to her lawyer ad she did not have to refund me. I lost thousands of dolars from this company on a cruise I booked.Due to a death in the family I was not able to go. From booking to payments to getting ready for the trip, we felt that we were in good hands. Everything was taken care of with no hiccups. Communication was smooth and easy. Buyer Beware. We booked a Dave Koz cruise and paid a $1300 deposit and decided we didn't want to do it a week later. There were a total of 3 couples so we all paid $1300 each, FD kept all our money. We attempted to cancel and FD refused to refund our money despite the trip being 6 months out. Attempted to comply with their cancellation terms but kept going in circles. Disputed with the CC company but since FD is their actual customer not us, they sided with FD. None of us went on the trip and FD kept almost $3K of our money and thought there was nothing wrong with this. This the culture of Flying Dutchman. Worst rip off of my lifetime. read more

They quickly set up an expensive river cruise, and then totally ignored me. Flying Dutchman was supposed to set up the whole one month trip, but have done nothing else, will not return call or emails. I am not happy that this agency is not open on the weekends. I wanted to use a travel agent to book my fight instead of booking on-line. It is bad enough that I have to attend a funeral and take time off of work that I will not be paid for, but it add insult to injury I need to take more time off of work to use a travel agency. Spent over 3000 dollars with Flying Dutchman on a cruise, when on board I was bitten all over by bed bugs. The cruise denied any wrong doing, or the existence, despite a diagnosis by medical staff. They gave us a new room and we had to miss an excursion. Royal Caribbean said any refund would have to come from Flying Dutchman, we spoke with the Flying Dutchman staff who promised they would resolve it for us. After the trip they played the blame game and will not offer any compensation or refund. They refuse! terrible service! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. read more

Buyer beware: This agency is not a member of ASTA, and fraudulently represents themselves as being a member in good standing. I called ASTA and they said they have repeatedly asked this agency to remove the ASTA logo from their website. Even more alarming, Tracy Michaels, an owner of Flying Dutchman refused to assist us with rebooking a cancelled flight to make a $12,000.00 cruise. I agree with many of the other reviewers. This travel company should not be in business. I have NEVER seen poorer treatment of customers than by this company and in particular, the owner Tracy. We just returened from the Blake Shelton Cruise ... unfortunately chartered and run by Flying Dutchmen. The entertainment was fabulous but unfortunately Tracy and the Flying Dutchmen company totally RUINED our trip and our experience. We spoke with David to book our cruise and reserved an Owner's Suite in The Haven. If you have ever been on Norwegian Cruise lines you may know that the Haven is a private pool and deck area on the boat. We more than doubled our cost of the cruise because we wanted to treat ourselves to this. When we arrived on the ship, we were promptly given a tour of The Haven, which was all that we expected. We were also then promptly told by Flying Dutchmen that we did not have access to it and our keys were turned off. Supposedly this area was reserved for "the talent". This was NEVER told to us and all of the literature regarding our cruise contained The Haven access it it. We discussed this with several people, none of whom could fix it. We were questioned as to why we wanted to access it so badly .... well um because WE PAID FOR IT!!! After 5 days of trying to get in touch with Tracy - who was the ONLY person who was empowered to fix this, and spending countless hours talking to people at the "hospitality" table, we gave up. We were locked out. On the 6th day of the 7 day cruise, we were finally given access by Tracy. As she handed us the key she made the snotty comment us "Enjoy your Kindle" ... since we had mentioned we were not stalkers, we simply wanted to lie on a lawn chair in a quiet place and read our Kindle. This company is a disgrace to the travel industry. We will be reporting them to the BBB. They have NO business in this business. The sad thing is, they were collecting $50 deposits for the "next" cruise ... that isn't even booked yet ... those poor people will not likely ever see that money. I hope Blake's people make a better choice next time. He should not want to be affiliated with this sloppy, unprofessional company. Tracy's comment below further proves how out of touch she is with reality. ALL of our cruise documents contained reference to the Haven . Additionally each day when we tried to sit in our VIP seats, we were asked to leave and we had to fight with the security people to sit there. Tracy did not make any arrangements for us whatsoever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY: Ok this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I dealt with a person named Chris. We tried to book flights for 7 of us and it was a complete nightmare. She never once returned any of my calls and made a bunch of mistakes and of course would not answer the phone to help fix the problem. She emailed me a few times saying the other parties need to give me their credit card info so she can book their flights, but she would never answer the phone. She ended up costing us money because of the late replies. I called the home office to lodge a complain and left several messages, not one person returned my call. My friends and I have gone on the Jamrock Cruise since they have opened, which has been a blast every year the only problem is the travel agency they have Flying Dutchman! Every year they have been so unorganized from taking payment, to being unable to answer questions. On the cruise last year I won two tickets to go to the 2016 Jamrock cruise in a bingo game. Very exciting right, well I knew I would not be able go cause I was pregnant, so I asked if I can put my friends name so they can take over the tickets. The Flying Dutchman people said just put my name and we will contact you to change name. Well they sent my confirmation with my name and my partners name and when I called they said that if I don't use them I lose them. We booked on the Salty Dog Cruise both for the 2015 maiden voyage and now again for the 2016 repeat. We had a great experience with Flying Dutchman, but, to be honest, we hardly had to interact with them personally. Making the reservations was easy, payments were all made appropriately, and they did a good job of posting notices on the cruise website, Facebook, and in email blasts that answered pretty much every question someone might have about the cruise. So there was really no need to make personal contact (which, in my opinion, is the mark of a good provider of this type of cruise booking service). As for the cruise itself, it was beyond amazing. For an inaugural cruise for bands that had never done such a thing before, they hit the ball out of the park. There was a good mix of different musical styles, which resulted in a good mix of different passengers. But it just seemed like one big family (albeit a pretty drunken family). Easily one of the best weekends my wife and I have ever had. read more

We are event planners in the area looking to partner with a travel agency for our clients and our first introduction to this company was awful. Not only was he incredibly demeaning, telling us to "do it ourselves since we were planners" but he was rude and gave us the wrong information. It incredible unprofessional and intolerable in this small county to be so rude, and in an industry that should support one-another. I don't know where to begin so I'll start with BEWARE!!! Beware once you give your money because you will recieve unprofessional shoddy service afterwards. God forbid you run into a problem where a refund is warranted YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED! But what you will get is attitude, assumptions and a sour taste in your mouth before you hang up the phone. I booked a music cruise called Reggae Jamrock! Big fan of the Marleys and it fell around my birthday! Once I made a down payment (because we couldn't pay it in full-just dumb!) that's when it all began. If I called with a question I was directed to the website. If I requested copies of my paper work via email I was treated as though they were doing me a favor. It got to the point I dreaded calling them for anything and instead called the Cruise Line. Only to be directed back to them. I excused all this because there was a no refund policy and I was looking forward to the cruise. I requested port side. I did not get it and was told by the owner Tracy that it was about to be sold out so David just booked it anyway. Without my knowledge? What kind of customer service is that? Get my money suffer the consequences later? The owner...Tracy Micheal...told me "what was so SPECIAL about being on port side anyway?" She's chartered HUNDREDS of cruises. Wth? Who, what and where she's been has nothing to do with me being a paying customer expecting services partially met. And to show what type of person I was dealing with Tracy tells me "usually customs and border patrol deals with 2 persons of interest on previous cruises. On that particular cruise they were dealing with 25". So you mean to tell me 25 people caused thousand to disembark hours later? Or was it really because an artist didn't pay his tab as someone in that office says? Then Michelle want to insinuate I should have known I wasn't on port side. I got nothing my silence, sly remarks, comments you name it. Very bad customer service. And to top it off. I experience a 3hr disembarking delay by a cruise line that I will not name. I missed my flight and shuttle transfer. Michelle at flying dutchmen told me an artist did not pay his tab so they decided not to open the doors to let anyone off??!!! At that moment was when I informed her I missed transportation. She then says it was a rumor. That's also when excuses and assumptions began. By the way we were told it was due to customs. Flying dutchmen had the nerve to request $50 deposit for the next cruise. Shame on Reggae Jamrock and Co. because they will be doing a disservice to paying customers going with this agency. They are a blamless agency. I'm still wondering how that shoddy agency is still in business. BE AWARE!!! P.S. Where do I begin. This company has one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Started off with my friend and I decided to go on their country cruise. My friend was the one who contacted them first she gave them my information with my credit card. And her information with her credit card. Their first of many mistakes was that they put both of the initial deposits on my credit card even though they had both of our credit card information. When I ask them to refund my friends deposit from my credit card and charge my friend they told me they couldn't do that there were no refunds really??? cause this was your mistake. I was told I'd have to get the money back from my friend. After dealing with them for about a week I called my bank and got them to reverse the charges. At the same time unbeknownst to me they decided to refund me the money as well. After telling me they couldn't.!? So that screwed everything up. Fast forward to a few months and now it's the week before our cruise. Everyone gets an email asking if they want to do a VIP upgrade to see some of the people in concert that are going to be on the ship. Of course it cost extra, I get the feeling that we're going to be nickeled and dime for everything on this cruise even though they say things were included. So one friend gets the email and immediately sends in her form. She gets an email saying you're going to hear within 24 hours if you were chosen because supposedly it's a first come first serve basis and it's only for the first three rows of the concert venue. I sent mine in a few hours later. Another friend sent hers in after mine. We all got an email saying we would hear within 24 hours. Two days go by nobody hears. We all start calling them. Each of us got a different story. But we were all told that we would hear within the next day. Nothing. I called again on Friday exactly a week before our cruise leaves, spoke to a nice lady who kind of made fun of me on the phone when I asked about the VIP seats she said of course you want to know because it's all about the outfits you're going to wear LOL, seriously? I'm no it's about the extra money that I'm going to be paying, and I'd like to know what I'm going to be getting since I was told I would hear within 24 hours. She told me she would take my name and call me back and let me know. Nothing . It's now the weekend they are closed. Called them today five days before our cruise is to set sail. Supposedly I spoke to the woman who is running it. She said she's the only one doing it, And she's completely backed up but that everybody would be hearing today. I told her I didn't believe her since that's the message we were getting all last week. She asked for my name said she was going to look me up hurt her Shuffling some papers around... I smell BS, said that even though I put in for first row I got third row. OK. I asked about my friends, she tried to look up their names claim she couldn't find them and said she would call me back. The day is now over never got a phone call. My one friend who sent in her email after mine, not keep in mind they said it was first come first served, set her email said she got second row. Now I was told over the phone I got third row how is that possible if I sent mine in before she did? I know I sent mine in before she did because I'm the one who forwarded her the email that she never got, and she asked me which VIP I picked so that we could be on the same list. So again I ask how is that possible if it's first come first served? She said she checked her bank account and the $160 that were paying extra was taken out of her account already. I checked my email I check my bank account nothing. I don't know what's going on with this company but so far it doesn't give me great hope that this cruise is going to go well. Because I have to make another phone call in the morning to find out what the heck is going on. Worst customer service experience ever! I would never use them for anything else. read more

We booked a cruise set to sail Oct 25th. The company also booked a hotel so we could stay in Miami the night before ensuring we would get on the ship in time. When we arrived at the hotel we were told our reservation was booked for Sept 24th instead of Oct 24th. There were no rooms left in the room category we had chosen so we were forced to upgrade to a suite. We spoke to Flying Dutchmen right away about their mistake. They refused to reimburse us for the suite, they were only willing to pay for the regular rate so we had to eat the $100 difference. Just returned from the Dave Koz Cruise in Europe. Luckily I checked other travel websites for hotels and transfers. I found the same hotels for less than half the price this company was charging. I spoke with many unhappy cruisers who found out they were paying inflated prices for their rooms. Their transfer prices were ridiculous, a cab to the port was less than 20 Euros what they were charging was 2-3 times that much. Go to Expedia or Orbitz and book your hotel. We have no choice to go through them for the cruise but everything else go somewhere else. They will not admit to their over inflated costs; and are not willing to go the extra mile like so many other companies. Dave Koz why do you stay with them? You had a whole lot of unhappy cruisers who respect you too much to complain but I think this time you will hear about it. read more

We just returned from one of the best trips we have ever taken. We cruised the Danube on the Beatrice. The ship and service were fabulous. We had guided tours at every stop. The best part was that it was an all inclusive tour. Tips, drinks, and tours were at no extra charge. We couldn't have been happier with any aspect that was under the control of Flying Dutchmen. When our airplane from Budapest to Munich was delayed due to mechanical problems, Tracy convinced Lufthansa to hold our flight on the ground in Munich until we arrived. The passengers who were not with our group out of Munich weren't too happy about waiting for us, but we were certainly grateful! Over all, we had a superb experience! read more

The people at Flying Dutchman are a disgrace to the travel industry. They fail on every level. They are massively incompetent. Let me give details. First let me point out that none of these comments apply to Crystal Cruise lines. The services provided by them were top notch. However, Flying Dutchman was a different story. The experience started out OK. We got contacted through one of our favorite wineries regarding this cruise. We were instructed to work with Flying Dutchman regarding booking. So we did. FD took our request and sent us documents to fill out, mostly regarding the credit card we would be using. So, we filled out the forms...and heard nothing back. Finally, we tried calling, but the only person who could help us was never there. If we were lucky, she would call us back in less than a week, but mostly never. Charges started showing up on our card with no detail. We would call, leave messages, but not much progress. Then we would get a statement by snailmail, from some unknown company summarizing the charges to our card. We got statements from "Let's go Travel," Wine tours, inc." and Flying Dutchmen. We had to ask over and over for detailed, itemized statements. Luckily my wife is an accountant and she, with a lot of work, could get them to foot. $14,000 is a lot of money to me and I really wanted to know how it was being spent. They were universally uncooperative and uncommunicative. The cruise itself was a delight. The shore excursions organized by the hosting winery were fun and interesting. They all went off without a hitch. Back to FD. The cruise ended in Dover, England. Some of the group were going straight to Heathrow to come home. Many were staying over in London. FD had arranged for transfer for those staying. The rest of us booked our transfer with Crystal directly. Everyone on board was given baggage tags that designated when and where you should disembark. We got our tags telling us when to assemble for our transfer. Naturally, those going to London went at a different time and place. Enter FD. Tracy the owner informed the whole group at our last night wine party that the whole group would get new baggage tags and we would all disembark together. She even confirmed this directly to one of our party. Luckily, we did not listen to her and checked with the cruise staff. Had we listened to Tracy, our friend who had an early flight, would have missed her flight. It turns out that the transfer to London for that was arranged by Tracy was not in one, large bus, but in several minibuses. As our bus left for Heathrow, there was Tracy and several of her customers still waiting for transportation. Incompetent to the end. You can probably put up with some level of incompetence if you think the person is really trying, or if they have a sparkling, friendly personality. Not the case with FD. Rude and surly would be the watch words for them. Arrogant and condescending rank right up there. In our after cruise survey for Crystal, we specifically told them that we would never, ever use FD to book a cruise and Crystal would be well advised to disqualify FD as a booking agent for them. I hope someone reads this and saves themselves a lot of pain and anxiety by using any other travel agent on the planet rather than Flying Dutchman. read more

It actually pains me to have to write a negative review for a small local business, but the experience my friends and I have had with Flying Dutchmen has been terrible. Last fall, a friend of mine decided to organize a girl's cruise for a total of 15 travelers. She opted to use a travel agent (David at Flying Dutchmen) to make the process of booking the trip as painless and efficient as possible. Our problems began when we paid our deposits and of the girls was charged twice. Unfortunately, they didn't end there. David did not bother to send out invoices until he was prompted to do so. When the time came to pay the balance of our trip, many of the girls were charged in excess of the price David had quoted for the cabins. Several of us made multiple attempts to contact David to find out what was going on, but he did not return phone calls or emails to address our concerns. When one of the girls did manage to get him on the phone he was sarcastic, condescending and inexcusably rude. With regards to the overcharges, he refused to honor his quote, stating that it was not his fault if Carnival charged more than he thought. Adding insult to injury, one of the girls had her $500 balance deducted from her bank account after specifically asking for her credit card to be used and providing the info. I provided my debit card info 8 days ago and the charge was not put through until today. I have yet to receive any confirmation that I'm actually booked for the cruise I paid for. This has been quite literally the worst customer-service I have ever experienced. So far, my friend's attempts to resolve this with the owner Tracy, have been unsuccessful. Bottom-line: my recommendation is that if you are considering Flying Dutchmen for your travel needs, save yourself the massive head-ache and go with Travelocity. read more

Flying Dutchmen has the most deployable customer services and incompetent, litigious staff. I agree with the other reviewer that stated they should not be in business. We booked a Dave Koz Cruise to the UK with them from their San Diego office. The subcontractor working with them at Pleasant by Air was anything but pleasant. The Air by Pleasant representative booked an airline carrier that I explicitly told her we wanted for this long flight. I spend an hour talking to her about wanting only this specific air provider. Close to the trip date she changed the provider without notifying us. She contacted us and told us she only had changed the time and arrival place. I had requested the updated ticket/itinerary however; she did not send any updated information. Two months went by, when we finally received the update, which was shortly before the trip. When we addressed this issue, the Air by Pleasant representative acted belligerently and yelled at me telling me stating it was my responsibility to review it, even though she had not sent the information. When I contacted the owner of Flying Dutchmen, Tracy, she gave me a song and dance about how this was not acceptable and she would see to it the representative apologize for her lack for professionalism. She stated this would not be tolerated and they could lose her business for this. Further, she stated she would check into it for changes and provide my party with drinks for the inconvenience. She made many promises she did not deliver. Needless to say she did none of the above and when I contacted her she stated she thought this was a good carrier and it would cost me more to make changes to my original provider. So the carrier that I did pay for I did not get, no apology or any other promise Flying Dutchmen made to rectify these issues was delivered. While traveling, we found their incompetence continued as when we got to Germany we were apprised the travel agent had apparently confirmed with us we were booked on paper, however, she FAILED to actually book it. We were not on a flight list anywhere. We would have been stranded in Germany and missed our cruise had we not been able to get the last 3 seats. Additionally, the Flying Dutchmen owner had stated the carriers were comparable. On our return flight we did travel in the carrier's autobus we had initially requested and the service and accommodations were unparalleled. There was no comparison in the two air providers. Where do I start. I was on the country cruise in Jan. 2014. After getting on board we made friends with a couple who told us they had booked the cruise a couple of weeks before and paid around $600 each for the cruise. This was less than half of what I paid. They had to fill the boat. There were people who went the the Flying Dutchman table and complained and were given room upgrades on the spot. Then Trace Adkins left the boat early due to an incident. No entertainer was brought on to replace him. They bragged about their producer on the boat, but he could not produce another act. They had no backup plan. They will say they were in the Caribbean, on a ship. I'll bet there are any number of people who would come to help Trace Adkins. Bret Eldridge was part of the line-up, but was offered a tour, which he accepted long before the cruise date. I don't blame him, but they replaced him in the line-up with somebody no one had ever heard of. They will also tell you that they do not have to deliver any act that was advertised. As a compensation for the early departure of Trace Adkins, tickets and meet and greets were to be given to any Trace concert for the next year maybe two (not confirmed yet). Trace has not scheduled anything close to me yet. Now I get an email today that says this offer will not be honored from 11/14/2014 thru 12/14/2014. So I loose a month. Their promises and compensation are worthless to me. Will not go on the next cruise with them. Book at your own risk. Go on the other country music cruise. Maybe I'll see you there. read more
