I'm genuinely disappointed and heartbroken with an experience I had at this Flying J this morning 8/13/25. My son and I and our dog, Creed are here visiting my oldest son. Every once in awhile we pull into the Flying J and hang out/sleep for the night. We pretty much keep to ourselves and stay in our car. The night staff and security have always been really sweet and we spend money constantly at the Flying J and the Dennys that is in the Flying J. We've never had ANY PROBLEMS this year or last year when we were here so needless to say when my son went in to get a drink and came back to the car to tell me we were band from this Flying J I was beyond confused. My son told him the security guard followed him out and told him he couldn't come back. When my son asked why the security guards response was "I don't have to tell you why, you just need to leave. So I go in to the store and ask for the manager. The first one I spoke with, After waiting forever and having the security guard harass my son 3 more times, Jeremy finally comes to talk to me and says he doesn't know a reason either. He asked me if I had recently come to the gas station with anyone new? I told him no but that the day before I had a girl in the store with me. She was one of the homeless people that I've seen around and I was buying her a few things for breakfast. Then when my son went in right after he woke up today she was standing by the front of the door and my son was raised to be a decent human being so he said good morning. She asked him if he could maybe buy her a soda. So they go in and she gets a soda. My son, not realizing he left my bank card in the car tried to use a couple of his cards but there was nothing on them. The lady who was checking them out apologized that she could not let the girl have the soda, made her dump it out but let her keep the ice and the cup. Then Jeremy proceeds to tell me, oh ya, if you are seen associating with certain people they will ban you because they are trying really hard to keep the homeless people out of here. He tells me, even if you were trying to be nice you have to realize that those people make that choice and do that to themselves..........there is, as far as I'm concerned SO SO MANY THINGS WRONG WITH THAT EXPLANATION AND THE WAY YOU WERE RAISED, SIR... #1, You're a truck stop...my brother in law is a truck driver that me and my sister met while working at a....Flying J. Let's not even get into all the drugs and lot lizards that the truckers themselves bring in to the parking lot of your establishment........ #2- How are you ok letting another human go thirsty and dump out a drink that is being wasted anyway, especially after I have spent so much money in your store including the .58 cents you charge me every time I get a cup of ice. It's not about the cost of the soda, which is EXTREMELY OVER PRICED IN THE FIRST PLACE, it's completely about what a shitty person/company you are and would rather WASTE a drink rather than help another human being. And to make judgements and assumptions about people that truly you know NOTHING about them or their situation. You are just a string puppet in this game of life who will listen to what other people say and just go with it because somehow you think you are better than they are and that being a manager of a Flying J is some big thing in life. You obviously didn't have motivation or smarts or skills in life to do anything that's actually going to make this world better or to be in a career that actually requires intelligence and a brain that actually works off of the puppet strings. You sir, are pretty close to the bottom of the chain with many people looking down on you from their cushy dollar bills and corporate offices so I'm really confused why you think it's ok to judge and make such ignorant, uneducated statements about ANYONE. We just finished a car camping road trip across America and this location was, hands down, the best stop. Not only was the staff friendly and helpful, but the area had security and several cameras monitoring the area. There was several others there as well so make sure to come early for a good spot. Of course the flying J had all the typical amenities for a truck stop including showers, nice bathrooms, gas, and food. All of which were very good. But here is the best part for people who need to relax a few hours- the view. It was AMAZING. At night you could see the lights of the whole area sparkling beautifully and in the morning there was hot air balloons all over the horizon. I can't wait to visit again. read more

The fuel nozzles are broken and I went to get my coffee around 2 AM in the morning, and I noticed that they ran out of cream no big deal on my way out I mentioned it to the cashier older man, he copped an attitude and said that he was by himself he doesn't Have time to put out the milk, thumbs up for the flying J for hiring trashy people like that and then I get to my truck and I'm getting ready to leave and there was a young homeless kid knocking on my door asking for change I told him that I did not have any he went bananas and started yelling and then he took off, this store is definitely on my don't come back list never again. read more

We on our way to Oklahoma City OK to buy a new travel trailer and there's some serious snow falling in the beautiful state of New Mexico. This place is packed and gas is cheap. However the customer service could be a little better considering it's snowing people are cold, tired and hungry. They however have a Denny's and a Cinnabon at this location. read more

Seriously some of the most bodacious and most excellent gas station mashed potatoes I've ever had with the smothering delicious brown gravy topped on the luscious mountains of gold! To go along with a half roasted chicken, man I love coming out of town for work to eat this meal, seriously one of the things I look forward to when traveling to Albuquerque for work! The staff is always so friendly and some cool products to look at, especially their winter gear called Wild Wear has some great selections of insulated gloves, beanies and thermals! Love you Flying J, you da best! Also, PJ's Pizza is really good, reminds me of Peter Piper Pizza on steroids, really tasty and delicious! I am a big fan at stoping at truck stops when we are driving cross country. On this trip we were heading home from AZ to NC. it's a long trip when you have 2 dogs and 4 people traveling. This location was pretty clean, restrooms were well stocked and spotless. The food selection was pretty poor but I was not interested in eating anything from here. The staff was super friendly and greeted us as we walked in. The outside of the establishment was pretty dirty. Trash was everywhere. I know it's not their fault that people are too lazy to throw trash away in the billion trash bins that are located everywhere. But it just gives a low class vibe when you physically see it. There Main Manager Frank is the most two faced forgettable person ever. Literally had an interview with him and the night manager and he promised me morning shifts then they hired someone after me and put her above and literally only gave me 2 shifts and 2 weeks and they also owe me 8!!!! I would like to make a complaint about an employee works at 9911 Avalon Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105 . I went in that store on January 6 2024 Saturday at 00:32 , asked the big tall guy with stud pin on his chin to pump the gas on pump 23, I went out tried the pump which didn't work,, then I went inside and told him. He blamed me to give him the wrong pump, and someone is already pumping the gas. I asked him if that guy is using my money. He said he doesn't know and if does it's my fault. I told him no I asked for pump 23 not 20. He say he'll check,, I told him I clearly said 20 ,, you can check the camera(nicely),, then he suddenly getting rude and threatened me,, told me he'll get the security guard to kick me,, and made fun of me at front of other customers. Went on a road trip (for 5 weeks) lots of stops for fuel (lots) always tried to find a "Flying J" sometimes the timing just wasn't right and I had to fuel at other fueling stops some were ok, but a lot were hella sketchie!!! My 1st trip since retiring was to travel solo (hubby is still working) in our classic RV from CA to AR and back, with our toy poodle, Honey. I stopped exclusively at Flying Js and Pilots to work on an investment report and because they supposedly have really good security. The Pilots were hit and miss, but all the Flying Js were stellar until this one. This is actually a very nice truck stop - facility wise. Should be a 5 star review. The problem is the staff. They don't even deserve the one star I was forced to give. This took place about 11 am on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. When I entered, to pay for my gas at the counter due to a Pilot credit card skimmer the previous day - there were 6 people behind the counter - and 8 other customers waiting. Only one person behind the counter was actually helping customers. Her name was Erica and she was pleasant, efficient, and busting her hump. Several workers behind the counter - VANESSA, CHRISSY, LARISSA, JESSICA, and one man (didn't get his name, not even sure he worked there) - seem to think their job is to huddle in a group and chat, gossip, and otherwise carry on, while ignoring waiting customers. Behind the counter talk is to be expected, but this went on for more than 15 minutes - while customers waited. Several left in disgust after being ignored as the behind the counter banter continued. Over the course of over an hour, I re-entered the store several times, to get my receipt, food items, to browse the store selection, to use the restroom etc. In all those trips - Erica was the only one helping anyone. I went to other registers - but was never even acknowledged with a hello, let alone an offer to help. My final trip inside was just to double check names for a report and this review. The corporate office needs to get involved here and do some adjusting and possible housecleaning of their so called "managers." And give Erica a raise for doing her job and having to deal with and make up for the behavior and childish antics of the other horrible employees. Dear ladies behind the counter, (except Erica) Quit acting like high schoolers in a clique. It is your job to help people that walk through the door. Use your mouths to greet customers and offer them help. Otherwise, find a new job, because you are hurting the reputation of the establishment you work for a great deal, as well as your own. read more

i was at flying j in albuquerque new mexico this mornining 6/30/2024 between 5am amd 630 am i was approached by a employee and asked if i needed any help i was trying to pick between some items in the locked case but i didnt need help yet the employee and the secur ity gaurd jmoved to the counter and just watched us while we were trying to make a decision and then the security guy walked up and told me that i needed to make a choice and get the fuck out of the store his words then i said excuse me and he started screaming at the top of his lungs it was very humiliating he accused me of being drunk and i dont even drink i have never been or seen any one be this unprofessional ask him why and he said i dont have to tell you shit he didnt give me his name and didnt have a name tag and the employee that was there was laughing i could not believe it i didnt know that there was a time limit to look around the store i will tell everyone how horrible and unprofessional they were they would not give me a number any of the names of either that i could call but this was something that i will not just let go i want both of them to be retrained and at least suspented but really they dont need to ne working with the public i cant exsplain the level of humiliation and embarrassment i am feeling there was no reason for them to treat me like that and i want some answers read more

This place used to be cool. Stopped there once or twice a month for many years. Something changed; they began hiring retired cops for security. I was there a few weeks ago and in the brief time I was there, one security officer used excessive force twice. Once a homeless man was pepper sprayed and the other incident I can not even speak of as I am a witness to what happened and it will probably go to court. Really a scary place now. Just down the road are other places to buy gas and food. Never going there again. read more

The Flying J at Exit 149 is relatively easy to get in and out of even with a trailer or a large truck (I've been here in both). The gas pumps can have a bit of a wait but it's usually not long. Inside you'll find a clean and well stocked C-Store, reasonably clean bathrooms, and service that's fast and usually without attitude. When traveling across the country I love stopping at the Flying J Travel Plazas. Weather I need a comfortable place to relax for a couple of hours or so. To getting a haircut. Flying J has me covered. The showers at this facility are amazing. Very clean all the amenities fresh towels, soap, shampoo and even q-tips. If you are traveling with your furry friend there is a great dog park with poop bags for free. I like to relax in the truckers lounge very comfy chairs. They have a Denny's attached but also have lots of snack options from Mac N Cheese to a slice of awesome pizza. The Ice tea buffet is amazing. Can't say enough about this place. Just love this location a true 5 Star Travel plaza. read more

So this gas stop is right off the freeway I just made a quick pit stop here and I have no complaints. The bathroom was clean and they had a large selection of drinks and snacks. They even had a Cinnabon counter were I got some pretty good bites that reminded me of the kind I get at the mall near my home in L.A. With a side of coffee that tasted freshly brewed I can't say that there was anything wrong with this gas station. read more

If you're in an RV and looking for a place to crash for a night, this place is pretty good. It's clean, there's ample parking, they have great food options, showers, laundry facilities, and free wifi. It doesn't get much better than this if you're planning on staying overnight at a gas station. They also have security cameras, which helped us sleep at night. The only caution is that it can get noisy because it's in a prime location and because it's a big truck hub. But given all the positives, we felt that this was a small price to pay. read more

They always have good price for gas. The staff is always friendly and the store is clean. There are lots of cool things to shop for. Best of all is the free air for tires most places will turn on air for free but you have to ask and it never stays on long enough to to fill more than one tire. Everyone that works here is SUPER friendly, sweet, and helpful. They take their time with you if you have questions about their wares and gifts. They have everything from low end tchotchkes to high end hand crafted native jewelry. The only down side to this location is that they didn't have a air compressor to fill your tires and the bathroom smelled like sewage. Just went in on aug 22 about thirty minutes ago about 830ish anywho we went up to the reg to pay come to find that the lady was helping someone else b4 us how are we suppose to know no one was there.. Anyways she proceeds to ring us up we had 2 bags of chips a chocolate bag and a drink all in one clear pile she rudely rings us up throws us the bag and says here u go.
