The iron-and-glass atrium is beautiful, the scale feels wonderfully manageable, and the selection of fashion, design, and home brands carries a point of view that could only come from Paris. Harrods occasionally comes to mind as a comparison, although the resemblance ends quickly: Le Bon Marché is quieter, smaller, and far more Left Bank in its sensibility. Upstairs and throughout the store, browsing is genuinely fun, and I still remember visiting when there was a Williamsburg, Brooklyn-themed activation that offered an unexpectedly charming French interpretation of the neighborhood and its culture. La Grande Épicerie, however, may be the masterpiece: an astonishing food hall where the presentation, abundance, and sheer discernment make grocery shopping feel almost museum-worthy. At a moment when e-commerce has hollowed out so many great department stores, Le Bon Marché feels increasingly special, proof that physical retail can still justify the trip simply through taste, atmosphere, and discovery. It is absolutely worth visiting while wandering Saint-Germain and the 7th. Très bien!

I fell in love at every turn from the moment we stepped through the door. I picked up gifts for myself, my nephew, and a friend at work. There's an officine universelle buly inside which is so convenient if you're not up for the long queues. So many exceptional offerings here. The inside is what I expect an ideal bookstore to be - a tad dark, cool, quiet and comfortable. With several different rooms, no doubt you could spend hours in here (if you speak French - French books only :). What kept me interested was a shelf near the door that held an assortment of guidebooks and charming little blank notebooks, ideal for recording your travels. I bought a sweet pink one, just what I needed for Yelp notes and such. Definitely check this place out for little souvenirs and French books (if you speak the language). Too cute.

I dropped in with my friends, one of whom wanted to buy French books for her children. I was just happy to browse. The store was attractive and welcoming, with a definite European bookstore charm. It was packed dense with books, on numerous display tables and climbing high on every wall. There was a cute dedicated room for children's books. I browsed the section of translated English language literature, and it was quite compact, a reminder that the world is large and not everyone cares what we Americans are doing at all times. (They did not carry my book, which has been translated into French. One of my friends very sweetly embarrassed me by asking. I found her with a polite lady who worked at the bookstore, the two of them looking at my face on a screen.) There were tons of cool coffee table books, which I enjoyed looking at in the absence of any French ability. I saw tons of art books, including one for the Rothko exhibition we were about to visit, and a great book about French drag. I was also amused by a Wes Anderson book tagged with a shelf talker that read, in French, "Perfect for fans of Wes Anderson!!" Anyway, I appreciated Librairie Delamain and would recommend it to anyone in search of books in this part of Paris. It's a beautiful store with a nice assortment of French books.

It had an old book store vibe to it, they also had a small range of drinks which were overpriced but where isn't in Paris? They had books mainly in English, I think they had a few French ones too. The store wasn't as modern inside and it didn't have the typical WHSmith experience which one would get in the UK, but it was a decent store nonetheless. They really do need to work on the entrances though, the only entrance due to COVID is up steps which wouldn't be disabled friendly, meanwhile, the front entrance is used as an exit - surely they should just use one door each for the front to accommodate everybody? 3* - Not a bad book store overall, a familiar brand which I like, service impersonal and prices a little high though.
