Also the "art" is horrific and worse than what a kindergartner could do. Do not even think about trying to walk here from the closest metro coming from Paris as you have to walk through a park that is filled with prostitutes every 100 feet. Totally unsafe. Additionally, if you are an American, DO NOT USE YOUR AMEX CARD as they duplicate charged me and told my card was declined as they don't understand that while visiting France from the US Amex card's for some reason request signature so you end up being told your card was declined when it was actually charged. Trust me, this "museum" does not have a single peice of art work in it and there is nothing LV related other then 2 trunks mounted on the wall at the cafe. read more

This spectaculair building is not to miss if you're visiting Paris. It consist of huge shields of glass which are connected with lot's of wood and steel. It's to complex to understand the design but intriguing to see! Especially with the 'Jardin d'Acclimatation' and the 'Bois de Boulonge' next to it. The collection is not so huge and not so extraordinary. But the models and the sketches of this building are also in the museum and worth seeing. The café/restaurant is rather small for this big building. If you go, try to go in the morning or evening when the sun is low and the building comes alive like a huge ship sailing to the horizon. read more

As others have stated, this is one of the most spectacular finds in all of Paris. I actually had no idea of its existence, and if it were not for the kind gentleman owner of Le Monde du Voyage, I probably would have ignored the advertisement signs around town and went on my way. So glad I didn't. While getting there and back was confusing since it's not anywhere near central Paris, I used Uber when realizing I was never going to arrive using traditional Parisian public transport (and the only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars), as I wasn't sure which metro stop sort of connected to the museum. All said, the place is wonderful, a treat for the senses and worth getting lost for. Different exhibitions going on at various times. Love it! read more

Intriguing from the outside and stunning from the inside! We discovered this Frank Geary building when visiting Jardin d Acclimatation with our four year old! (Fantastic park by the way!) You can't miss what looks like white sails on a huge ship (or shoals of fish as we later found out) once you near the space. We enjoyed the staircase like fountains you can see from the park but were turned away when we tried getting in without a reservation. I later booked tickets easily online- about 30 Euro for two adults and a child to return. So glad I did! Don't get dismayed by initial queues. It was crowded with lines at our designated time but well worth the wait for the main exhibit Olafur Eliasson as well as the Geary building exhibit. I won't say much about the intense sensory and creative experience that is the OE exhibit so you can go with no expectations and enjoy his brilliant installation. Best art experience in Paris for me which helped me re experience fountains, light, space, and proximity differently for all the other awesome Public and institutional art Paris has to offer. The rest of the art and the building were also amazing. I'm kinda proud I had the good sense to know a good thing when I see it. I doubt this trip is on the radar of many tourists as it just opened in Oct of 2014 with the OE exhibit up for a posted short run of three months from 12/17/14-2/16/15. Whether you make the installation or not, if you love contemporary art and architecture and are in Paris, don't miss this place! read more

Stunning architecture and excited that my trip fell during this exhibition featuring Jean-Michael Basquiat and Egon Schiele. Locals and visitors are excited about this exhibit - best to purchase your tickets ahead of time online so you don't have to queue outside. Beautiful grounds to walk around and explore. Bookstore has a great selection and the restaurant is always busy. Although Shiele features work from early 1900's and Basquiat's work is from the 1980's both artists died at the age of 28. read more

Ugh people complaining about the lack of "good" art here. The architecture IS the art. This Frank Gehry design is a masterpiece and I spent a few great hours walking all around, in and out, up and down all the stairs and looked out, in, down from the many terraces with incredible views of this architectural marvel. It's about a 15 minute walk from the metro stop to the entrance of the building. The walk through the park is very nice. It would be great to one day go on a bike ride through the entire length of this massive park. You want to see famous modern paintings? Go to Musee d'Orsay or Pompidou Centre. You can see your Picasso, Monet and Matisse there. And just because the name of the site is Fondation Louis Vuitton doesn't mean that it should have a permanent collection on the history of LV bags. read more

A peaceful yet trendy museum experience in Paris? Yes. Forget that obligatory Louvre trip (or at least be a rebel and snub the Mona Lisa) and go here instead. Not far from the Arc de Triomphe but feels like countryside. Beautiful space that gives art room to breathe. You're more likely to appreciate the works when neither they nor you feel crowded. Loved it! I thought it was going to be tourisic and a lot of Louis Vuitton products but it was so beautiful! Take the metro 1 to Les Sablons and it's a 9 minutes' walk. The neighbourhood is really nice, beautiful buildings and very child-friendly. The museum looks really big and colourful from the outside. It was not very crowded when we were there at 12:30. They have a café and beautiful garden and park where you can go afterwards. The museum has 4 Floors with different galleries and a patio. Every gallery was unique. Cool paintings, sculptures and video's made the museum very special. At the top of the building you can See the city from above, it was sooooo pretty and clear and the nice weather made it perfect. This is a must visit in Paris. You can Enjoy the view with an ice Cream which they happen to sell on the rooftop. read more

The first time ever in the work were most of his works brought together as an art show. 5 floors where all Walls had his work lined up with many of his piece. My family and I love it. This architecture here is awe-inspiring and it's just a quick jaunt on the train. Even though I called beforehand, they didn't tell us until we got there that they weren't currently showing an art collection (they were in between collections). They did give tours of the building, which is art itself, but a few of the tour guides weren't exactly hospitable. The grounds and building are worth seeing if you like modern architecture. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Blizzard like conditions outside and forced to stand in line where those with tickets before out 3:30 entry were still in line. Pouring rain and wind and not allowed to go into the lobby. This was unbelievable. We had to leave because of the storm and were completely drenched. A few staff were handing out thin plastic ponchos - thin like dry cleaning plastic. We asked for a credit back since we purchased online. NO. One cannot expect people to stand outside in blizzard conditions completely wet when umbrellas are blowing inside out and you can barely see. Terrible management of the situation and complete waste of time + 40euro for tickets and shuttle. The management needs to address this. A truly miserable situation since we did not wear snow suits and have a tent to cover us - we had to take the shuttle OUT OF THERE. read more

To begin, a note about this site(as explained by a museum docent): In 2001, LV Foundation(which is responsible for this museum and their collections) made a conscious effort to separate from Louis Vuitton Corporation(the bags, shoes, clothing). Consequently, you won't find any shopping here other than the museum gift shop, which is first-rate, btw. So no bags, no shoes, no clothing here- just a a one-of-a-kind art collection and experience. We took the 1€ shuttle from the Arc de Triomphe in the middle of a Friday afternoon. The ride around the traffic circle was as thrilling as any roller coaster could ever be and set the tone for the rest of the day. We spent several hours at the foundation and even though neither my husband nor I are great aficionados of contemporary art, the building, the vistas from the terraces and the art made for an unforgettable afternoon and early evening. It concluded with the shuttle back to our beginning point. We will definitely visit this venue again during our next visit to Paris and hope to spend some time strolling the nearby Jardin d'Acclimatation. read more

Super mixed experience. Loved the building. Ticketing management is a nightmare, made worse by the rain - previous reviews capture it well. I reserved in advance but that didn't entitle me to much. Still ended up waiting an hour in the cold rain - they did offer umbrellas but that didn't save my bare legs and sandled feet. Despite that, the architecture is really worth seeing if that is your jam. The exhibit was underwhelming, especially if you're familiar with MOMA work in NYC, so that was a bit of a waste for me. I would recommend if you're in Paris and have time to spare since this is definitely out of the way even from the nearest metro stop. Will be interesting to see if they can attract repeat visitors - personally, now that I've seen the building, I would not pay for a walkaround again. read more

We visited Louis Vuitton at 7:00pm, the employee there told us that there are one hours left, so my sister and I set off for the tour. The exhibition was nice with some nice guards in each exhibition room. Time flies, we almost finish the tour, and the broadcast started to invite people to the entrance at 7:30. When we get to the B1 at 7:45pm we saw a guard told us the exhibition at B1 was closed! We were so confused since we just want to spend the last couple of minutes to have a look at B1... Since the guard locked the door, we have to return to the entrance, and before leaving the architecture, we went to the washroom, but guess what happened in five minutes? A male guard opened the door of the ladies, shouted: all out! We are closed! Three ladies still in the washroom at that time! (Which is still 5 minutes to 8!) Astonished suddenly! Is this Louis Vuitton foundation?! The Louis Vuitton selling purses over thousands Euros? The employee of Louis Vuitton would send huge male guards to simply open the door of ladies to rush people out of the gallery?! This kind of rude Louis Vuitton, I would never come back, no LV Gallery nor LV stores! Thanks god, we have other brands rather than LV! Thank you for listening, reviewing! read more

The building and art are amazing and well worth the travel time and 14 euro admission. However, the restaurant served one of the worst lunches I've ever had. For the ridiculous price of 28 euros I was served "Le Jardin" or the garden: several little bowls of badly made food: stale pea soup that tasted like it was 2 weeks old, tasteless grain they called lentils, asparagus with an almost raw egg. The only decent thing was corn with pomegranate seeds and it was just okay. With the 28 euros I also received a bottle of water. No dessert. I guess it depends on the current combination they're serving in le jardin but I wouldn't take a chance. Eat before or after your visit. read more

I strongly recommend going in a group, in mid day, and carefully consulting access advice on the site. Tried to visit on a rainy day in June. Did not get to visit the building because of the atmosphere in the park, which was very shady. The area around it is extremely unfriendly to pedestrians. From the metro station (we took RER C, Metro 1 would have been better) to the green area where FLV is, there are no clear sidewalks and cars kept honking when we crossed the street, as if we were an unusual sight. The Bois de Boulogne just seemed like a dangerous area, with the possibility of running into a bad character very likely. We knew of the bad reputation of the place, but thought things had changed after the recent remodeling and Gehry's intervention. We were so discouraged by the feel of the place and some shady characters staring at us from the distance, we had to turn back. I'm surprised other reviews do not mention this, it could have been just bad luck or timing. Probably the building is worth it if you do get there. read more

i thought this was going to be a good museum. it was fine, but the thing that stuck with me was how long my family and i had to wait to get inside of the museum. right now it's winter, so it's obviously cold. imagine that cold x1000. we had to wait in the cold for 2 and a half hours to actually get inside. the organization is awful. there are three lines- two for reservations and one for people who didn't reserve online. we were part of the people who didn't reserve and pay online. the people who did pay in advance got to wait for 10 minutes and then get inside. unfortunately, the decision of not paying in advance cost us almost 3 hours of waiting in the cold. please make your organization better and thank you for wasting my day!! read more

Amazing exterior architecture by Frank Gehry and great views of Paris, but this place is a bit of a rip off for what you get on the inside. First off, it's like €14 for an adult ticket (which is pretty steep in my opinion), and there were barely any works in the exhibits. (Also, such a big "foundation" really should not be charging students at all to enter the building...) It's really hard to navigate once you're actually inside the building - it feels like you're just going in circles trying to find the next gallery, and I almost feel like this was intentional to make it seem like there's more inside the building than there actually is. I noticed when I was in the building, people were just walking around in confusion because the maps definitely weren't helpful. If you're visiting Paris and you happen to be in the area, I would just stick to viewing the architecture on the outside - that's all you need. Don't spend your precious euros at this place, and don't go out of your way to view the exhibits unless it's an artist you really love. read more

I'm a museum professional of over 20 years and brought a group for a tour, booked through FIAC and confirmed with a staff member at the foundation yet when we arrived we were confronted by rude bureaucrats who would not accommodate us, not use reason or logic and were extremely unhelpful. The building is stunning, but that is the only thing good about the Fondation. It is expensive, with no reduced rate for retirees. The lines are very long. The staff is not particularly nice. The art in the permanent collection is awful, and the current exposition was not much better. There is almost no place to sit in the entire building, and one of the elevators was broken. The restaurant has good food, but it is grossly overpriced, the wait is long, and the staff incredibly inefficient. Walk by and look at the building--otherwise avoid this rip-off. read more
